The grounds were beautiful with so much attention given to enhancing the surroundings and making it feel like a special garden oasis. The attention to detail in the room increased the already warm and inviting nature of the guest house. The bed was super comfortable. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Our hosts were very attentive before we arrived to make sure everything was smooth and even helped us when we had questions about planning our activities during our stay. While we were there we almost felt like we were in our own home with the level of privacy provided.

The room was great; loved the atmosphere and comfort. Also, the Thai restaurant right down the street was exceptional. The proximity to Volcanoes National Park was also great. I would stay there again.

We were there while the owners were transitioning from a an active hosting model to a more passive hosting model. That was fine (and expected) but because we had a kitchenette, we didn't realize it was OK to also get things we needed from the main, shared kitchen that was right off our front doorway. We thought it was only for the guests that did not have a kitchenette. So, if you stay - it;s OK to get ice etc. from the main kitchen!

Great location. near by the volcano national park. friendly owner and enjoying with dogs. If you are dog lover, playing with dog is one of remarkable time of this place! There is a common area where we can meet with other travelers at breakfast and sharing story of trips! That was great! I definitely want to come back this place!

We loved everything that was offered at this guest house. Everything was very clean and organized. The kitchen equipment was great and allowed us to organize our breakfast and small snacks in the room itself. We highly recommend this accommodation. Thank you!

Each day the breakfast was unique and delicious. The room was spacious enough for my needs and very clean. I couldn’t ask for better location closer to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Not much to say about negative things, at least from my side

Robert makes a delicious, simple breakfast and the location was literally five minutes away from the National park. This was the perfect spot for easy access to the volcano! The gardens are beautiful and my kids loved the chickens and the goose out back.

We got soaked during a rainy hike at the volcano. Our room came equipped with a drying rack for this very purpose (it rains a lot there!) but our clothes were still dripping wet after 24 hours. We had to find a dryer off-site to dry our clothes. Walls are thin, but we were warned of this in advance so I turned on my white noise app to minimize the sounds of other guests.

Wonderful property - felt like such a home away from home getaway tucked into the jungle. The owner and his dog are so friendly! It was lovely to wake up to the birds chirping, and then to come out to the common area and see light breakfast snacks prepared. The rooms were nicely decorated and comfy as well. Most of all, the location was so convenient right outside Volcanoes National Park. We wish we could’ve stayed longer! Thank you Robert for a great stay.

Great location right next to Volcano National Park, extremely comfortable beds, highly rate the lovely breakfast! Lots of information from the host on shopping and dinners, directions prior to the stay.

Booked for four through the app however only 3 were registered. Host didn’t receive messages confirming it was four people. Also, wasn’t sure how to lock the room until the second day when we saw the host and asked. Interconnected room wasn’t locked with other guests staying there.

Breakfast was fabulous !! Set-up very lovely and homey. Might be a good idea to have a microwave in the dining room to heat up meals. Host was terrific - very thoughtful and accomodating - we had to catch an early plane, so he made breakfast available early for us - The grounds are beautiful and loved all the patios. Common room was amazing - antiques and local art - The whle ,place was amazingly clean

My only issue was the walls seem very thin in the room I had - Could hear the person in next room coughing all night - As many people are visiting the volcano at night, make sure the lanterns are working - Make a "this is where stuff is "list - for example, where ice is, Have a more thourough list of nearby restaurants - Everything pretty much closes up very early, so it's nice to know your option if you arrive a bit later. This area of Volcano can be very wet and rainy - it would be great if there was something that took the dampness out of a room - ie - towels never dried completly - maybe a towel warmer ???

The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. Robert was kind, caring and the very best of hosts. We had farm fresh eggs, toast, fluffy pancakes, all the spreads, fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, everything we needed and more to choose from for breakfast - all set up, ready and waiting for us each morning. Our room was equipped with a bathroom, TV and separate microwave and fridge, even had a balcony with rocking chair to sit on and enjoy the serenity of the garden. It only took us 5 minutes to get to the National Park - very handy for viewing and driving any time day or night.
