This place isn’t as hard to find as it seems! The host had warned us in advance to arrive before 5 PM, as it could be difficult to find once it gets dark, and most restaurants close by 7 PM. However, it’s right by the main road, and there are lights on the sign, so we were fortunate to find a restaurant that stays open until 9 PM, so no need to worry too much. The room is quite spacious, with a garden and pond in the middle, which looks beautiful during the day. The self-check-in process was very clear. There’s also kitchenware and a microwave available.

The room also has both heating and cooling machines (though they’re not very effective, and the machines are quite noisy).

Really quirky rooms, loved it ! Location: 5 min drive to the entrance of the Volcano park..( we were so lucky to catch an eruption ! ) Short drive to store. Hardly any restaurants ,Kilauea Lodge, a Thai restaurant and Volcano Lodge that is about it! Room: Very nice comfy, clean, microwave, coffee machine, small fridge. We brought our breakfast with us. Decor particularly in the bathroom is quirky ,large shower nice soft towels, toiletries, hairdryer.

Nothing ,all good

Very cute garden. Good location for visiting Volcanoes National Park. Our room was amazing—I think we may have been upgraded—with a separate parking spot, and thematic bathroom. Really special place to stay that felt fancy but not in a sterile, resort-y way that I don’t like. Hope to be back in the future!

The parking lot is tiny. If lines were repainted with more slant angle/greater width but fewer slots, could fit fewer cars but more easily. Currently all spots can’t be effectively used anyways.

Beautiful grounds and a large room with a funky, fun-inspiring bathroom. The bath looked a bit like a lave tube but was still very functional. Sufficient parking. Wonderfully close to Volcanoes National Park main entrance. Food trucks in the area provided good takeaway dinners.

Narrow stairs to get to the room and stairs inside the room (to get to the bathroom) were the biggest negatives. Maybe we brought too much luggage! Also, I missed having an on-site host who could provide guidance about the area. The area is fascinating. A bit of local knowledge helps to find sites that would otherwise be missed.

Very fun place to stay. No staff - you check in yourself. You can restock on your own for amenities. The bedroom and bathroom were on the small size, but the “lobby”/dinning corner of the room when you get in is big and you can leave all of your suitcase there. Interesting design with the koi pond. Considering that there is much more to see in Volcano than you can fit in a day, we loved this option to stay in town and be able to have a reliable, comfortable and central base at night.

Fridge was very small and the “dinning corner” is 2 bar stools with a counter.

Pleasant surroundings (nice landscaping). Quiet neighborhood. Convenience. Comfortable bed and amenities, Refrigerator and microwave.

Humidity (I was not able to sleep first night because room was very humid and smell moldy. Starting next day running dehumidifier whenever we are in the room (even at night) made it better. It may be that’s because our room is downstairs. We were thinking upstairs rooms could have better ventilation and less humidity.

We have stayed in many places in Volcano Village and this has been by far the best. The rooms are warm, clean and have a unique design. Our room was very spacious and in an extremely quiet neighborhood. The grounds are delightful.

Not everyone drinks coffee. A choice of tea would have been appreciated. A cutting board and sharp knife would have helped us when making sandwiches.

This was one of the most enjoyable properties I have ever stayed at. The large room was comfortable and tastefully decorated in turquoise and brown with a jungle cave theme. It was easy to relax as birds sang softly outside. In the entry to the hotel there is a lovely fish pond with a raised porch overlooking it where we could sit, talk and draw.

I liked everything.

The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful and fun. Parking can be tight if they are full. Our room 101 and had its own designated parking spot which we loved. Super easy self check in. Five minutes from the volcano. So quick to access the park, it was perfect for after dark and sun rise photos.

Parking can be tight if they are full.

The location is excellent: close to Volcano village, Volcano Art Center, Volcano National Park. It is quiet, clean, and the room was unique with unusual and fun features (glow lights, woodwork embedded in the walls, stain glass details), and perfect for our stay. We got upgraded to a spacious king bed room, with a beautiful shower, and lots of windows overlooking nature.
