The Inn at Cedar Grove is a magnificent mansion that lets you experience antebellum splendor. The rooms are beautifully furnished with period pieces, but still have contemporary necessities. Sitting on the balcony in the evening and enjoying the atmosphere - truly beautiful. The pool is also lovely and lets you unwind after a day of exploring. Moreover, you are within walking distance of downtown Vicksburg and several restaurants.

The Inn needs better management. We were told that the bar would be open until 9 pm - the bartender was nowhere to be seen 8.20 pm, all lights out. Breakfast is terrible: you are not asked what you would like, you are served what they have. If you do not like eggs and meat, you will leave hungry, as they have no cereal, toast, etc stocked. They could not even give our kids any milk. This is definitely not a 5 star-experience.

Excellent location and a marvelous room, very spacious and decorated with old furniture. Dinner on the premises was excellent. Huge portions of very tasteful food at a very reasonable price.

Breakfast is unacceptable. Very limited options and extremely small quantity. It included a small quantity of scramble eggs ,a slice of bacon, and a delicious fresh baked biscuit. Orange juice, coffee and a small cup of yogurt with one strawberry and some granola on top. No bread or anything for the small quantity of butter and jam provided. When we asked for a second biscuit, it was not provided because they said they had prepared exactly the number of biscuit s as the guests of the house....

I loved being able to stay in an historic home. When the A/C didn't cool the dining room, I did not care because it added to the charm. Whatever wasn't perfect helped make the history of the home come alive. People that want new and modern would not appreciate this place. People that enjoy Civil War history, or old homes in general will love this place!!! You get access to most of the lovely-decorated house and grounds, including a pool. There's a restaurant on sight with good food (extra cost of course, but not too high). There are lovely second-floor porches for enjoying the view. There is also a roof-top terrace for an even better view of the Mississippi River. If you have ever wanted to be Scarlet O'Hara for a day, this is the place for you.

My room could have been cleaned a little better. There were hairs from a previous guest still on the shower walls.

You don't feel like you're in a small hotel room that looks like every other place you've been . You feel like you are with family in rooms rich in history and unique items you can only see at CedarGrove. We slept in the Grant Room, in the bed Grant slept in after the war. My usually not impressed well traveled 15 year old daughter who took Mississippi history this year couldn't believe she got to stay here. We actually stayed up and re watched documentaries on the civil war. I'm from Vicksburg and she's been here thousands of times but never like this. It's something you should do! The on site restaurant was one of my favorites while I lived here so we ate there the whole time and it doesn't disappoint. We took our tea and night cap on the porch and watched the sunset over the Mississippi and all we heard was the locust.

Nothing it was perfectly Cedar Grove

Historical venue. Bar with excellent staff inside main house on property. Outdoor pool and seating areas . Balcony area to sit and visit with friends. Rooms are comfortable and historic. A tour of house was included with room . Enjoyable and close to everything.

Breakfast was mundane and not really substantial for our grown men in group. Coffee ran out both morning. We were only able to get one cup of coffee each and would have preferred to have cup outside after breakfast and visit with friends more. Last stay here breakfast was more substantial and grits were offered and seconds were offered. Staff was very pleasant and responsive both times visited Cedar Grove.

The owners purchased the property 3 years ago and have made significant changes. Amy welcomed us to the Inn. She called us a few days prior to ensure an easy arrival and we were even able to get our rooms before 4 pm. Amy also came To get us at breakfast to ask us if we wanted the house tour, which was lovely. We took the 2 rooms in the cottage by the pool and outside the house. They were clean and comfortable. If anything a few more electrical outlets would be helpful for phones. Dinner is available with reservations and was full the night we ate there. Breakfast is included. We stayed 2 nights so we could leisurely tour the Vicksburg civil was national park.

Excellent breakfast served from 8-9AM. Good individual coffee maker in the room for early risers who need coffee before 8! We frequented the bar the night we arrived and enjoyed chatting with other guests and barkeep. The friendly owner Kendra made a point of greeting and visiting with each of us and telling us about the history of the mansion, including pointing out cannon balls that hit the house during the siege of Vicksburg. The period furnishings throughout the house were lovely. Guests have access to the amazing gentleman's parlor, a spacious front veranda, and a rooftop area overlooking the river. You really get a sense of history by staying at the antebellum Inn at Cedar Grove.

no complaints!

What a pretty antebellum home! Beautiful bed and breakfast full of 1800s antiques. The room we stayed in was the John Klein Jr (room #5). King bed. Room was the perfect size for the 2 of us. The bathroom had a shower in it. The only thing I'd add is the shower floor is slippery and could use a mat inside for stability. The staff is extremely friendly and personable. There's a bar on property, and the restaurant served the most delectable pork tenderloin with a cognac peppercorn sause that was to die for!

I can't say that there was anything we didn't like.

The Inn at Cedar Grove is nestled in the heart of the historical district of Vicksburg, MS. There are views of the Yazoo river from many of the rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinner service was delicious and the staff went out of their way to make our wedding anniversary extra special with a complimentary piece of oreo cheesecake (also super delicious!) The rooms were spacious with outdoor seating on the patio. Separate shower staff from a garden tub in the bathroom. Overall, lovely and would recommend!

The property is beautiful and the period interior design takes you back to that time and age. The inn is so beautifully decorated with antiques, furniture and pictures that give you a glimpse into the lives of the elite in the 1800’s. The host was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the house; we really enjoyed the tour. The staff were equally friendly and served a great breakfast which you can eat with a lovely view of the backyard. We also enjoyed the ability to get a drink from the bar and find a relaxing seat on their rooftop deck to look out at the river and watch the sunset. We will definitely be back!
