This hotel was excellent! It is a lovely historic hotel in the center of uptown Butte close to all the sights with free parking, comfortable beds, and large rooms. It’s a bit quirky due to being over 100 years old but that’s the charm and the beauty and I’m so glad they have preserved it! The staff were kind too. Would strongly recommend!
As an older building, there are some features that are not optimal like no central A/C but it wasn’t an issue because they had great A/C units and being Montana a mile in the sky, we didn’t need it much.

We were pleasantly surprised that the room in the hotel had a portable air conditioner even though Booking.com indicated only the motor inn rooms had air conditioning. Since the high temperature was 85 degrees that day it definitely helped cool the room down quickly for a good night sleep.
The room had a king bed and unfortunately only one side of the bed had an end table. It would have been helpful if both sides of the bed had an end table. It appears a small end table would have fit on the right side of the bed.

Bottom line is that this is where you ought to stay if you appreciate or want to appreciate historic Butte. Number one is the stepping back in time feel this hotel gives you with a very nice old lobby. They did a decent job upgrading the room to having a modern feeling inside this old fashioned place. The bar off the lobby was also pretty cool, I didn't get a drink there but I did walk through a few times. Parking lot was nice to have but I also street parked and there were plenty of spaces. Can walk from here to some uptown attractions as well as a few of the city's lively and eclectic bars. There's a "luxury travel and lifestyle blog" (not my usual vibe, tbh) called Lux Life London that wrote up this place, and Butte in general, and in my opinion absolutely nailed it, so google that if you want to know more. NOTE: this is about hotel side of the property not the motor inn.
Beware that they use portable air con units to cool the rooms. If you're not familiar with these, they are noisy and not very strong. When it's installed it's not very easy to open the window. Mine struggled with cooling but it was around 98 degrees outside. In time it got cool enough to sleep comfortably. I actually liked the noise and since it struggled to cool the room, it never hit the target temp, which means it never cycled between fan and AC, something I hate with hotel AC systems. Best improvement here would be to have mini fridges in the room.

The hotel has a tower and a motel. My wife and I were at the top of the tower in a cute apartment. Our kids were in the motel section. My wife and i enjoyed a couple of drinks at the hotel bar while our kids went to a movie. For some unknown reason, our reservation was cancelled by Booking.com. The receptionist on duty when we arrived was a rock star helping us get into the rooms she had left.
The motel part is painted concrete block and very small-barely fitting the two queen beds. The only ice maker (as far as we could tell) is on the main level.

This is a historic hotel that's been kept up well. It's clean, beautiful, and spare. Just like in its heyday in the previous century. Beautiful and comfortable, but don't expect a Marriott. Don't bother with the motor court. Insist on the main hotel.
Our only issue was the 3/4" ledge at the edge of the bathroom. It's a middle-of-the-night toe stubber that could be remedied. Or at least pointed out. And like most hotels, there's a nightstand on only one side of the bed.

This is a great historic hotel in the historic district of Butte. There are two sections of the hotel, one is a motor lodge-type section and the other is the historic tower built in 1924. If you want the tower, be sure you choose it, otherwise, you might be booking the motor lodge.
There isn't much I didn't like. The hotel is historic but the rooms are modern. The only negative might be that the bathrooms are small, other than that it is a great place to stay in Butte.

This is a beautiful old hotel with a gorgeous lobby and a nice mural in the parking lot. Despite liking the old hotel building, we were happy to stay in the cheaper motel units These were completely adequate and comfortable. At the low price I paid, I was pleased to find shampoo, conditioner, and two different soap bars. Although there is no breakfast at the hotel, there is coffee in the lobby and full breakfast options close by.

The ballrooms were amazing! I loved that there were multiple rooms for the event we were invited to. I like that there was a gym, although small had the necessities! The lobby was also very beautiful, we had a great time!
I wish there was free breakfast! Maybe an add on of a pool in the future as well. I do recognize though that the hotel is beautiful for its historic structure, and maybe that isn't possible.

It was just a very pleasant stay! Everyone was so nice, very accommodating. We enjoyed the summer Thursday night music. It was like a block party, every age! If I am on I 90, I will definitely stop here again.
Wish it had a refrigerator for our leftovers. Probably would end up in trash.
