Unfortunately we experienced a traumatic incident while at this hotel,. On our first night we were awoken at 1:30 am to banging on our door and fire alarms going off, because there was a fire in our building on the second floor. Now you may wonder why I gave them a 9 as an evaluation, these are the following reason: 1) their overwhelming concern for our safety, the evacuation was smooth, fireman gave clear calm but urgent commands. 2) staff (all from housekeepers, front desk, etc) was helpful and patient with their guest even when we may have been anxious , testy or frightful, they stayed calm. 3) the firemen were efficient, as we watched them arrive suitup and immediatley get to work doing their job putting out the fire in timely manner, we got to see their skill, talent and professionalism put in action. 4) the owner was on hand, too, to provide the guests, who were unable to return to their room that night an alternate place to sleep. 5) the overwhelming apology from owner and staff for somethng they had no control over. was appreciated, too. Prior to this incident, my family felt comfortable in the room we had, it was comfortable, clean, in a great location. Now, knowing how they responded to a crisis and putting our safety first made us more impressed, that we definitely will use their hotel the next time we are in town. While there we did try 2 of their restaurants the Jailhouse and the Mexican , both places the food was tasty and the atmosphere enjoyable.

The fire interrupting our weekend... loss of sleep, but our family and stuff survived, for that we are thankful for.

The staff was incredibly friendly. This was the best customer service I have witnessed since the beginning of the pandemic. For some reason after the pandemic, customers service in every industry has taken a nose dive. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that their customer service was excellent. I also love the fact that they had a pet friendly rooms. It was the first time we were able to take our big dog with us on vacation. Love the experience. I highly recommend people staying in this hotel.

I have no complaints. The staff was so good. It made up for everything else. (If you are use to more luxury accommodation). I usually do not leave reviews. But the staff was so nice. I had to encourage them to keep up the good work. I wish I wrote down the names. It was few ladies when I checked in. And 2 ladies when I checked out.

My check in Lady was awesome! Our TV didn't work, so she went and found one that did for my grandson. Kudos to her! We had not watched much on our trip but it was on the menu for the night.

No refrigerator. As a traveler, you need to keep your water cold for the next day and any leftovers that may be with you... Disappointed for the 3rd time on my trip for no fridge. I guess I need to read further before making the nighttime decision

the property is rather vintage, but well maintained. good location for our needs. the MAIN feature is the STAFF!!! very helpful, pleasant, accommodating and they went out of their way to make our stay pleasant!!!

because it is vintage, a little deep cleaning (bathroom corners, stains on the carpet, better chairs( would be beneficial. also, no coffee shop on premise.

Really cool attached steakhouse, jail theme really well done, for both rooms and restaurat.

Smoking allowed inside the building which permeates the entire building, is quite gross. But they cater to casino customers, many of whom smoke, so I guess as a non smoker I am not their target customer. Kind of ruined the experience for me though.

The front desk staff was congenial and resolved a room assignment conflict quickly. The room was comfortable and clean. Restaurant staff did an excellent job. The food was great and the portions quite ample.

Premium charged by Booking, and the “internation” flag assigned by both of my credit card banks, negates any perceived benefits of using Booking.com

The room was ready as scheduled when we arrived at Ely, and was clean . Room had easy access and the Jail House was centrally located with less than 3 miles to the Nevada Northern Railroad.

The Jailhouse Steak House was a tad "high-priced" for the dinners served, but the meal we ordered was prepared excellently and was very tasty.

Comfort, price, staff was very friendly at the front desk. Convenience of location.

Making reservations at the Cell Block was a bit cumbersome. No return call after leaving voicemail letting me I did in fact have a reservation. Need a few spaces for physically challenged guest that stay in the rear first floor rooms.

Handyman was very nice I told him I didn't have a reading light and he went and scrounged one up for me! The steakhouse was quite good too although a little bit expensive. Mexican restaurant there with better pricing but I didn't try it.

Really not a lot to complain about. I thought there was a microwave in the room but there wasn't, however there was a microwave in the common area.

Great location. Liked being inside with the casino, lounge and restaurant. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

The WFI was very weak in our room. Had to go out into the hall to get better reception.
