Loved the cool mod refresh. Beds were comfortable and room was spotless, and very spacious.

Although the location is good walking distance from some excellent food locations, it apparently is the adjacent to the street of choice for nightly car racing, and so it was a bit noisy. Also, there appeared to be locals cruising through the parking lot into the late hours with music blasting. Not the greatest for peace and quiet.

There was obviously a lot of money invested into this property. Everything looks modern and the look appears to be more than just skin deep. I see potential in this establishment in utilizing its full amenities to become the go to place, a hot spot, not only in Carlsbad but all of southern New Mexico. The few staff that we encountered were gracious, friendly and competent, providing a personal touch with professionalism.

Due to the layout of the parking lot, the parking is inefficient and less than optimal for guest access. I don't know why the bar / lounge area is not being used, but it was a shame to see such a well designed, fully equipped modern facility setting empty.

We did not eat the breakfast there and just stayed in our room and did the stuff we wanted. The room was larger than expected clean and very comfortable. The price was great and definitely appreciate the cleanliness. The room had the little soaps and shampoo for when you forget it and was just nice. The room had a clean smell and a lot better than I expected for or the area.

I will say the 2nd night we got back, and our hands were full of stuff, and we were locked out of our room. We had to go to the office to get them to re activate our card again and there was no I'm sorry let me fix this it was what date do you check out and she scanned it and said here, the office people are not the best, but I didn't care.

Pros: the rooms are great! My room looked just like the rooms on the website. The bed was so comfy! The location is amazing, I was able to walk to most things. Free laundry was really nice as I was only halfway through my trip. The staff was very helpful.

Cons: my only complaints are not the fault of the hotel. A lot of people smoke outside rooms. I happened to be in a room that people smoked in front of A LOT! Next time I will put a towel at the bottom of the door. If you come in after 6 parking is very limited. Again, these aren’t issues that the hotel can fix, just some observations.

Cute hotel. Location & price were great. The room was large, and the bed was comfortable. I really liked the two shades on the window. One let light in, but wasn't see-through. The other darkened the room. The room had a coffee maker, fridge & microwave. There was a ton of storage in the room. The TV was large, and received lots of channels. I liked how the toilet & shower were separate from the sink area. One person could be getting ready while the other showered. The frosted window in the bathroom let in lots of natural light. Free breakfast was provided. It consisted of cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, coffee/tea, breads, juices, and ready to heat pancakes & French toast. The staff were all super friendly. I would stay here again.

The shelf in the shower was missing. Since it was a stall, all toiletries had to be placed on the floor during showering. The water pressure wasn't great. The tables in the breakfast area weren't wiped down between guests, so they were sticky & had crumbs. There was no ice in either ice machine. I wish they didn't use Styrofoam in the rooms & in breakfast area. There are better environmental options. And nothing could be reheated in the microwave due to Styrofoam plates & cups.

The staff was friendly, and the room was clean. This was an old motel that was revitalized. There was a bar and grill across the street called The Lucky Bull that the staff recommended. The food was amazing.

The bathroom shower water pressure was low, and water went out to the tile floor. The bathroom seemed to be a handicap room. Lights in the room were only in the ceiling and it was too bright.

Rooms are large, clean, didn’t hear any occupant’s in the building above us or next to us. No stale hotel room smell. The AC was on when we got the room it was nice a cool when we got there. Bathroom was big a roomy simple and nice

The parking lot is small. We have a cargo trailer and there’s really no place to park. Truck and trailer

This older property has been completely re-done with a modern renovation. Rooms are spacious and new... and clean. Our bedside lamp didn't work, the check-in clerk was so sweet, she found us a new one. I would definitely stay here again. Location is perfect in central downtown Carlsbad, parking lot is right outside your door.

The breakfast is standard "major chain" fare like at Days Inn, Super 8, etc. Didn't really matter to us as we brought our own food.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good bedding. Clean and fresh, comfy bed. Good hot water pressure. Good lighting Everything worked- fridge, microwave etc

More Parking Space. Better Breakfast selections- hot meal. Front desk hosts were pleasant but need a better presentation. No full length mirror in room Hook on bathroom door needed. USB connections didn't work.

When we got there, it was later at night. After passing quite a few other motels that were concerning and so I was a bit worried this would be the same. It was well lit, quick check-in, and we were in our room in about 10 min. Very clean feeling, nice staff, and would recommend to anything staying in Carlsbad.

The breakfast was a little disappointing. We were not expecting much, but they had a handful of packaged items, and waffles. The only other knock was that they did not have ice in the ice machine.
