Great location with lots to do close by.

Wife and I went for our 7th anniversary. We live just an hour away, but wanted a special day. The night clerk was INCREDIBLE. I wish I could remember her name :( but I can't. The room was very clean, the pool was quite cold (expected) but also clean and well-maintained. The warm cookies were also very, very good! Last time we stayed at the San Louis, and paid a LOT more. It was a terrible visit! The room was not very clean, the shower was filthy (bodily fluids on the floor), and the staff/manager were all unwilling to help us. I would STRONGLY recommend saving a few bucks and staying at the DoubleTree in lieu of the San Louis. We will certainly be back!

Even though the ocean is very noisy, the rooms had very thick doors and walls which made them nice and quiet. I loved the big comfy pillows and our king size bed was very comfortable. The sheets were crisp and cool and I love the big TV and the easy to use remote for it. I loved having our own little balcony. That was very nice. I slept better here than I have slept in a long time.

I was concerned about the lack of grout and or cock in the right corner area of the shower.. huge gap, allowing all the water to just run down there and probably into the wall walls and probably it will show up on the ceiling of the room below us.. our door lock was a little wonky.. but nothing big.

I loved the proximity to the beach. A five minute walk across the road. I loved the balcony facing the beach. Everything was tidy and clean.

We booked the hotel because of the swimming pool only to discover it isn't heated in the winter. The kids were really disappointed that it was to cold to swim.

Love the location. Large rooms.

Our door was broken and we got locked out of our room because the lock was broken on the inside. Maintenance didn't know how to fix it. While we waited for them to come back we were able to pull up on the handle and push our way in the room.

The room balconies are what keeps bringing us back. The view can't be beat. It's a great location - the beach is right across the street and several restaurants are nearby. And love the little orange refrigerator.!

The sheets somehow were a bit scratchy and hot. Even my husband was waking up from overheating and he's cold natured. They do charge for parking, $15 a night currently. I don't remember seeing that in the description and it's rare for hotels not in the city center to charge for parking, especially when it's just a parking lot. Also, I'll be glad when they get the 2nd elevator working. It's a bit slow with just one.

my stay was wonderful until I called the evening after checking out. I called to report that I left my tablet in the room. The head housekeeper was gone for the day and the person answering the phone would not send someone to get it or even take a report. i was told to call back the next day. after calling twice the following day someone finally took a loss report. I was was not able to talk to the head housekeeper until 3 days after checkout. She was very helpful when I reached her late that day but my tablet was gone. I know exactly where I left it and I really feel that if someone would have checked the first time I called, I would have gotten it returned. As it is, it is floating around with all my info on it. The way this was handled was very disappointing.

We enjoyed the pool. The ocean view from the rooms balcony was beautiful.

Charged us $15 per night to park. Breakfast was $22 for the worst continental breakfast. Our car was hit in the parking lot and we received no help from management on reviewing cameras to follow up or file a claim.
