I am an older man. Consequently, I like old-fashioned standards. What I received at the Catamount Motel was a good old-fashioned friendly, courteous welcome, which is important after a long drive, as it makes you feel like you have come home…along with a clean, cozy room. I am writing this from another motel that, sadly, does not measure up to my experience at the Catamount. I highly recommend the Catamount. May I suggest to remember a tip for the housekeeping staff, as they work very hard. You can adjust the temperature of the room, which is very important in Bennington, VT, which can get down in the 20s or less in the winter. As for the showers, the water is hot and pressure fine. By the way, my favorite room is #17. Ask for it, if you can. In short, I found the Catamount to have found a way to maintain the standards of the past while providing great service at a profoundly reasonable price…(did I mention to remember to tip the housekeeping staff?!). Lastly, I want to mention that there is a Citco Gas Station next to the motel, so that you can easily fill up and get back on your trip.

There was, honestly, nothing that I disliked.

The owner was wonderful, thoughtful, helpful. He is running this motel with care for the needs of travelers and the location it’s in. The staff was gracious.

I could say I wish it was a bit more upscale but it would lose its charm and purpose. It’s a great motel in a charming town that hikers, skiers and others require. It is perfect for their needs and doesn’t need to be more than it is.

The owner was helpful directing us to local restaurants. He gave us a free night because his hot water tank was not functioning properly (the intense rain on Saturday flooded it). He was extraordinarily ethical! The room itself was large and spacious and had lots of seating.

We liked everything and would consider a return trip. The shower water was cool but this was not the owner's fault (see above).

The temperature was set to 57 degrees when we arrived on a blustery winter day, and it was quite cold inside. As a new englander I understand not heating unused rooms, but my travel companion was quite disgruntled. It may be worth bumping u0 temp of rooms you know will be occupied (they ask for an estimates arrival time).

Central location. Can walk to main street, restos & bars. Short drive to Prospect Mountain Crosscountry Ski area. Small but cute historical town with seasonal museum & monument; three covered bridges as part of local road system. Standard motel but with all needs met and well-maintained.

We love staying at local mom and pop motels, but they can sometimes be run down or have begrudged hosts...not the case at Catamount Motel! The rooms were clean and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. I highly recommend for someone looking for a simple place to stay while visiting Bennington. It's also right by a very cute string of shops, which we will take advantage of when we come next time for a longer visit.

2nd stay at this facility. Room was exceptionally clean and was ready over 3 hours ahead of check in time without prior notice. Very helpful. Venue is somewhat dated in appearance, but this is not an issue. I will stay here again when I need to.

Second time here and will definitely return. Great value in today’s overpriced market. Everything clean, comfortable, and in good working order. AC, TV, fridge, microwave, coffeemaker - the amenities I desire. Comfortable bed in a surprisingly large room with extra furniture. Owner does a great job!

No complaints.

The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean and well maintained. The shower was powerful and had plenty of hot water. In-room mini fridge, microwave, and mini coffee pot were very nice to have. Quiet room with its own entrance. No extra fee for bringing our two dogs, who stayed in the room while we skied. Located a quick 3 min drive or 10 min walk to Main Street shops, bars, and restaurants.

The beds were too firm for my taste, but I'm a princess and like to sleep on a cloud. (My partner found the beds very comfortable.)

Loved the quiet room, even though the Motel was booked. Spacious room with all the amenities. The only gentleman that I saw over the 2 days was friendly, accommodating and helpful.

The bed was as hard as a rock. I did not sleep well over the two days. It could be just my preference
