This is a beautiful old house (built in 1893), comfortable and peaceful. We loved sitting on the broad, shady porch on a balmy morning while I worked and my wife sketched the towering oak trees that give the house its name. Our bed in the Florence room was comfortable, and our bathroom was enormous. Lots of food options for breakfast, and you can choose whether to have it in the dining room, in your room, or on the patio. The woman cooking and serving breakfast was very kind, and we had a nice chat. We also had a lovely dinner not far away at the Farmhouse Restaurant.

We could hear some loud voices from other rooms until about 10 p.m., but that's to be expected in an older house. The water pressure in the shower is a bit weak, but probably also because of the age of the house.

Beautifully restored and maintained. Decorated nicely to time period. Great breakfast, prepared freshly downstairs (delivered to you if you’d like). Cozy, quiet, safe. Definite going to be a repeat for us. Staff were great!

Couldn’t reach one of the shades to pull it down for privacy & darkening the room, but it was so late that we didn’t want to bother the host/staff. From what we saw, it doesn’t look like there are staff overnight, but could be mistaken.

This feels like a 5 star hotel. The staff is fabulous. All the locks are digital and you don’t have to carry a key, which is one less thing to worry about. The rooms had spa quality linens and towels. The bathrooms were clean and updated. The TV has streaming & cable options. Free WiFi. Breakfast was homemade and delicious! I would absolutely recommend the Inn over a chain hotel. This is perfect for a girls weekend or a romantic getaway. I’d love to stay again! Very quiet location.

We stayed here while visiting family nearby for Christmas and were incredibly impressed. The owners have done a beautiful job of restoring the lovely historic home and filling it with period accurate furniture. Everything is beautiful and spotless. The home and surrounding grounds are beautifully maintained, the hosts, Jenna and Joshua, were friendly and thoughtful, stayed in contact with us before our arrival, during our stay and after our departure to make sure that we had everything we needed and that our stay was everything we hoped for. Our room was lovely and large, everything was so comfortable and we loved having a fireplace in our room! Each morning, a delicious breakfast was left outside our door for breakfast in bed at the exact time we requested, and it was a tray packed with orange juice, a delicious yogurt parfait with fruit and the MOST DELICIOUS homemade granola, pancake tacos (fresh made pancakes stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese and the most perfectly crisped bacon), breakfast potatoes, biscuits and gravy, chocolate chip muffins and egg cups. It made for a delicious feast for two people who don't usually eat breakfast in the morning. This was no continental breakfast, it was a full homemade meal made with care.

We decided we would not stay for breakfast, the breakfast policy regulations were off-putting, why not just charge a couple of dollars extra and put on a very nice breakfast without restricting it to one of these or two of those. Seems very petty.

The room was excellent, the emailed entry details worked well as we never saw a living person from the time we arrived to the time we left.

This was such a beautiful, historical, and comfortable place to stay. I loved seeing the history of the house. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were so adorable! The bathroom was very spacious and the jacuzzi tub worked great! The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very responsive and friendly to any issues we had.

The front driveway was small, and the property wasn’t properly identified on the maps app. We actually went past it and had to turn around to find the driveway.

Everything went well. Breakfast was super exceptional: fruit and yogurt in a way I wouldn't have even asked for. I was asked if i wanted something more said yes and was given it. Wow. The hosts actually did seem to care whether I would return again and when I go back to Christiansburg I'd have to be stupid not to consider staying at the Oaks Victorian Inn again.

TV cable menu navigation - not that you could do anything about it. Did not have much time for TV anyway but when you want to see something now (like news) you want to see it and not spend the entire time for watching navigating just to find what you want. The initial greeting was a little overwhelming/over the top for me after spending 4 1/2 hours on the road and just coming in off of I 81. I wanted a chance to go to the bathroom and just sit down and stare at the garden. So at least for me a more reserved greeting would have been better - like a smiling grandmother.

We had the back cottage. It is cute and cozy,Loved the sauna!

Overall nice, a little too quiet even though it was full. No place to be social when it is cold out. I imagine when the weather is nice the porch is great. Breakfast was mediocre but our hostess was wonderful.

Review: We stayed here while visiting a friend nearby and were incredibly impressed. They were extremely friendly, brought us drinks and homemade snacks after check-in, and when we went to leave to visit our friend an hour after arriving, we discovered our car battery had gone completely dead. The owner Jason offered a jump start, which didn't work. After checking in quickly with a mechanic friend about the specifics, he diagnosed a rare problem that could only be fixed by replacing the battery. It was after 8:30 on a Saturday night. The owner Jason was SO kind, and offered to take my husband up the road to buy a replacement battery before the store closed at 9, and even gave hubby the tool he needed to install it. Jason went way above and beyond, and we got to our friend's place only 45 minutes late. In the morning, a delicious breakfast was left outside our door for breakfast in bed at the exact time we requested, and it was a tray packed with coffee, tea, (fresh squeezed?) Orange juice, ice water, a delicious yogurt parfait with about 10 kinds of fruit and the MOST DELICIOUS homemade granola, fresh made pastries stuffed with scrambled eggs, sausage, and apple, and a big load of the most perfectly crisped bacon. It made for a delicious feast for two people who don't usually eat breakfast in the morning. This was no continental breakfast, it was a full homemade with care meal. Our room was lovely and large, everything was so comfortable, and our hosts were delightful. If you're going to be in the area, I highly recommend staying there!

This property was exceptional. It is in immaculate condition and so beautifully decorated. The inn keepers have worked hard to restore and maintain its historic integrity. Shannon and Jason are so hospitable! We felt like family. The breakfast was delicious with local vegetables and the daily cookies were a sweet and thoughtful addition. We highly recommend the Oaks!
