The Inn at Virginia Tech is an ideal plce for anyone visiting Blacksburg to collaborate with VT personnel. It is conveniently located on campus, it offers excellent dining options and a variety of meeting spaces—perfect for focused group discussions or private gatherings. Upgraded rooms have separate areas designed to host guests or conduct private meetings. Parking is also included in your stay so that is a plus.

Def. not the most budget-friendly option in town. More affordable rates can be found at nearby branded hotels. Also, the coffee was consistently disappointing. For a property of this caliber, investing in a proper espresso machine wouldn’t seem like a big deal.

One of the things I always worry about with older hotels is mold, or dirty air vents. This hotel was quite possibly the cleanest I have ever stayed in. My husband and I, here on our anniversary trip, both woke up super clear each morning with no sinus congestion while having the fan running all night. The room smelled extremely clean, no chemicals covering up smoke smell or anything. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous, the biggest breakfast buffet spread I have ever seen in a hotel. Everything hot was in cast iron pot, it included eggs, fried potatoes, corned beef hash, turkey sausage, bacon, regular sausage, sausage gravy and biscuits, cheesy grits, oatmeal with all the toppings, yogurt and fruit cups, fresh fruit, white and chocolate milk, and cereal and bagels. Breakfast was $16 per adult, $12 kids. Our room had lots of space in the drawers to store clothes. Like another reviewer commented, there was indeed a generous size of bar soap included. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, and the front desk and our waitress for breakfast were both very pleasant. It is clear that someone cares about this property.

The only thing I take a small frustration with is the quality of snacks offered nearby the front desk for purchase. More whole foods / real food options would be a great addition. Beef jerky, Trail mix, granola or protein bars, fig bars, etc. Another thing is that our room did not have a microwave, and the mini fridge did not contain a freezer compartment. Not a big deal as we could get ice from the ice machine down the hall to fill our cooler everyday but since we were there to kayak the river nearby and had brought ice packs with us to use, it was a minor complaint. Overall though, this was easily one of the best hotel stays we have ever experienced, and kudos to management and staff!!

Excellent location for any VT, Blacksburg or Christiansburg activities. Facility is steps above your "regualr" chain hotel without being pretentious. Abundant free parking. Booking.com got us, by far, the best price!

While there is a restaurant on site, there is no breakfast included with room, and there no way to grab quick, small bite before heading out in a.m. Vent in bedroom blows right in your face when sitting at desk. Ugh. (However, the HVAC does keep room comfortable otherwise) Similar to alot of hotels, the front desk staff can be hit or miss on communication skills and customer service approach.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. There was a convenient station to fill bottles with fresh, cold water (not just tap water). The room was spacious with large windows overlooking beautiful green lawns. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more pleasant.

I did find one bug in my room, though since I was on the ground floor and the room itself was very clean, I think it was more about location than cleanliness. There was no liquid body soap provided, and the shower took a while before the water started running properly.

Good park like view out our windows. Clean room and bathroom. Friendly cleaning staff. We had the buffet brunch at Prestons which was very good. The host staff at front and staff at the buffet were very welcoming and informative. Lady at back delivered the waffle when my daughter forgot. Made to order omelets, carving station (pork loin), freshly made waffles, and a number of choices for entrees, sides, salads, and desserts. Soft drinks, OJ, and good Coffee included. They had special on bloody Mary’s and mimosas but we didn’t get them.

Maybe add a water filling station near the ice machines?

Very very clean from the campus, to the lobby and well into the room. EVERYONE there was friendly, knowledgeable and willing to assist. The location is very near food so heading out and back in isn't an issue for a quick bite or sit down dinner. Rooms were immaculate and toiletries provided were very nice quality. Beautiful view night and day. Well lit at night and safe to walk around. Benches provided along the front make it easy to sit and enjoy the environment and beautiful scenery. The room was surprisingly spacious and upon walking in felt presidential (this was a simple 2 bed regular room). Definitely recommending to all who consider staying!

Mattress was angled strangely making it a little rough to get comfortable. Pillows were very soft and flattened when laid upon. However, I was able to use one of the extra blankets provided to make a prop for the one pillow I used and thereafter slept like a dream! I will absolutely be returning for future stays!

Quiet and clean. They actually have daily cleaning service and lots of cleaning staff! Nice places to sit and relax around the hotel and rooms were quiet. Love being able to stay on campus! So close to town, stores, etc.

Rooms were a little dated and tub was high for getting in/out of. Would have liked a simple continental breakfast option. Wish check in staff would’ve been more knowledgeable and helpful about navigating the area.

Everything from A to Z! It was a last minute booking but it was totally the best decision! When we arrived, we could find easily a parking spot in the parking area, which was for free. The atmosphere was really nice and it was a really calm area. At the reception we were welcomed really well and they were super friendly. Our room was so clean and everything was well prepared. It was so specious and we felt like at home. We stayed only one night but if plan to go this area again, definitely it would be our first and only choice.

It was great having free, easy access parking. We enjoyed the happy hour with entertainment in the bar and also had dinner, there. The breakfast was actually quite good for a buffet. There was fresh fruit, the eggs were good, choices of breads and pastries and all the other breakfast standards.

Coffee was weak. Dinner was okay, but not worth the money, just the convenience.

We were on our way to Maine, and this was a first night stop. The location is great…only a few miles to the downtown Blacksburg area. The campus is lovely, and we really loved the architecture for the outside of the hotel. Everything was very nice in and out. Our king room was large with a view of the grounds. There is a breakfast buffet, but we left early, and didn’t partake in that. In the same restaurant they serve dinner which is very convenient. The dinner atmosphere and service were very good, but the food was maybe a little below average for the price. We were the only guests for dinner. All in all though, a nice stay.
