When I booked the Winthrop Inn, I honestly didn’t have huge expectations. The pictures on the website looked okay, but nothing extraordinary. But as soon as I arrived, I was so glad I chose to stay here! The check-in process was swift and easy, the receptionist was friendly and already had all my information ready, so I just had to sign. Super smooth. Special shoutout to Cheryl, who is an absolute angel. My husband accidentally left his wedding ring on the sink. Cheryl personally contacted me, got my address, and mailed it back. I offered to cover the shipping cost, and she just said, “It was just a stamp.” Truly above and beyond. Highlights: - Price: Excellent value for money - Cleanliness: Spotless everywhere - Room: Very cozy, felt like staying at my parents’ house - View: Overlooked a lovely, well-maintained garden - Bathroom: Super clean with great essentials - Bed: Clean and comfortable I will definitely book again when I visit Washington. This property has so much potential, and the staff are simply the best!

Internet speed

We were a group of 8 people in 5 rooms for a midweek 4 night stay. The Winthrop Inn had very few guests those days and allowed us to gather in the small reception area to eat and plan for our next day of skiing each night. The great nightly rate let us have a long stay. We all agreed that we would do this trip again at the Winthrop Inn. Special kudos to Kathy who figured out what we needed even before we did!

This is an inexpensive hotel - if you are particular about details and appointments, then you might want to pay more somewhere else. For example, although it did not bother us, a part of the wall over the sink in our room (but not the other rooms) was damaged with scattered fingerprint size shallow pits.

The staff were very kind and helpful. They allowed us (ski club) to gather and have a group dinner at the reception area.

The website said an extra bed is available upon request, which was not true. We were told the fire department doesn't allow an extra bed, even if we bring our own. The room lock doesn't automatically lock. We didn't know that until the 2nd morning, i.e. we left the door unlocked for a day. Nothing stolen, but it would be nice that they tell us not only how to open but also how to lock the door.

The receptionist was delightful. Having ridden a motorcycle for over 175 miles the cheerful smile, and helpfulness she gave us was just what we needed. The simplicity of the door code entry number versus dreaded keys that always get lost was a bonus. It was very hot outside so the air conditioned room was great. The coffee machine was also a bonus, plus for the first time ever there were creamers available, not the powder kind but liquid. A first. The nightly rate was extremely reasonable, especially for an In in the middle of town. Congrats on a great place. I would stay again and highly recommend to others.

I have mentioned the creamers as being a nice bonus, hate to be picky, but sachets of sugar vs emptying wastefully the sealed packers of sugar, creamer and diet sugar substitute would have been welcome. I would also suggest the breakfast room be open at 7 a m. in the future for early risers. Plus the fly screen was ripped, should be fixed.

The Inn seemed to be minimally staff, but guest's comfort was considered and there was a self-help table with tea bags, coffee pods, body lotion, shampoo, etc. Enjoyed being able to walk to the river and bicycle to town. Great having free bicycles but the tires were very flat - we got them pumped up in town. Breakfast was fine. Good ice machine.

9 o'clock breakfast is much later than i prefer. Should have a bicycle tire pump on the premises with the free bicycles on offer.

quiet place. lots of clean towels. coffee maker and coffee in the room, microwave and fridge and TV. free cold breakfast. plenty of open parking spaces. we road our motorcycles, safe and quiet property. Easy to find hotel, next door to the grocery/hardware store and gas station. Nice make of bathroom soap,shampoo, lotion. And walking distance (less than a mile) to the town.

breakfast selection of bread and fruits could be better, or hot oatmeal and yogurt would be nice.

Winthrop Inn was clean, well cared for and simple. The staff was excellent. We arrived late and although staff was unavailable and the office was closed, they left us an envelope with the information we needed to check in ourselves. Beds were comfortable.

Breakfast was minimal (waffles, bagels/muffins, coffee and fruit) but it was fresh. We noticed the the ceiling transmitted some noise from the floor above but it was minimal because the person(s) up there were quiet.

This is a little gem in Winthrop. Not to far from the town center. We have stayed at this place before, and came back! It is pet friendly! Rooms could use a refresh, or at least get rid of the carpeting and add new flooring.

The property is fine. It does need some love but the awesome staff and general cleanliness are enough to make a good place to lay your head for the night.

The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Friendly too!

Can't say there was anything we didn't like. It seems that it is an older facility, so we were maybe a little suspect at first. The walls seem recently painted and well maintained. The room was clean. The other guests were quite and there was no other outside noise that was a bother.

location to the river was excellent!! Very friendly staff and the location to the town, gas and stores was very close.

The property in back of the hotel which is very close to the river was not kept. We actually walked over to the next hotel and followed the path to the river where they had chairs to sit in and enjoy the river.
