My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Grandstay Hotel in Mount Horeb. The staff is outstanding and did all they could to ensure we had a comfortable and welcoming stay; everyone was pleasant and polite. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast had plenty of good items to choose from, hot and cold, and the staff was always checking to make sure nothing was running short.

The coffee at breakfast in the dispensers was not very hot, but was ok. I was surprised to find there was no freezer in the room, but the front desk fellow was very accommodating and put my frozen purchase into the kitchen freezer until I came back for it later. Shower water pressure was a little weak, but this may be a Madison thing. Overall, these are very minor and if none were changed my next stay would be just as great.

Built in 2015, quite a distance east from the main downtown Mount Horeb, it was one of the nicer, more modern hotels we have stated. The bed was very comfortable, the amenities very nice.

The staff, very nice on check-in, were not reachable by room phone, although we tried several times to reach them mostly to ask them a question. The breakfast included name brands of yogurt, cream, cheese, peanut butter, but the eggs and bacon left something to be desired. At 7:30, most of the hot food was gone with nobody in sight to replenish. There should have been someone checking that from 6:00-10:00.

The bathroom was amazing & clean

The male staff checking in was preoccupied with a very complicated phone call. Not much personality suited for customer service when he was finally off the call, knowing I waited for a while for him to finish. A smile and/or apology would have been nice, putting the call on hold would have been even better! Morning female staff member worked at keeping the breakfast stocked but was struggling to replenish everything running out.

The jacuzzi in the hotel room was nice and convenient. The hot tub in the spa was very comfortable. I liked that the location was in a hilly area.

The bed was too springy and could be a bit more comfortable. The pool could be warmer. Also, it would have been nice if there were more options like avocados 🥑 toast, bacon and sausage available for breakfast. Also if the fruit was cut into smaller pieces.

Liked the king bed. Others mentioned a loud bath fan, ours wasn't, in fact I don't remember hearing it at all. I liked that a wall thermostat controlled the room temp so we could actually see the number we wanted. Breakfast was yummy

Need a nightlight for getting up to use bathroom vs turning on bright light. Wish there had been more flavors than Strawberry and peach for yogurt (cherry, blueberry)

Loved the quiet setting with easy access to downtown Mt. Horeb. Had several rooms for family event.

Changed reservations within cancelation window by calling hotel to cancel our last night x 3 rooms. Hotel couldn't do the refund, still haven't heard from Booking.com on my refund. Lesson: cancel through website, not by calling hotel.

Great location, quiet area. Friendly staff. We were offered an upgrade on check-in, and got a very nice room. Used the pool and spa, both were great. Bathroom has great towels, and there were a good quantity stocked. Comfortable bed and pillows, and very nice breakfast.

The bathroom fan ran constantly, and there wasn’t a way to turn it off.

Always a great stay when we are splitting our vacation together

The hideaway bed was a little thin, 3rd party had to sleep upside down on it because she could feel the bar under her back, but we made it work otherwise

I was double booked. You booked me first. No confirmation . They couldn't find anything so I booked a room on my own. Still couldn't find anything in the morning. So now I have 2 charges for the same night!

They had really nice staff working when we visited. Breakfast surpassed expectations with warm hash and warm scrambled eggs with peppers and onions mixed in. The pool was fun, stayed opened till midnight. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. The lobby had brochures for attractions if you needed them.
