The host is exceptionally friendly and helpful. He help us planned and organized our tour itinerary of central and southern part of Phu Quoc island. He help us to get the transportation for out 2 days tour itinerary at a reasonable rate with good and friendly driver. He also help us to secure the cable car package tickets cheaper than those in Kxxxk site and the ticketing counters! He was so kind that he allowed us to have late check out as our flight was rescheduled 2 hours late!

The owner was great and really made us feel at home. He even gave us a room upgrade! Would recommend taking his advice on things to see and do, and utilizing his driver. Nice room that was almost directly on the beach. Was a very relaxing location to chill out. We accidentally double booked accommodation for the last night and were sad to have had to leave early.

Nothing. No fault of the property but the weather was bad when we were there and it’s quite windy being next to the beach. We loved being in a local area but just be wary that it’s not a tourist spot.

First of all, this hotel was quite an affordable and it was worth every penny I spent on it. It's in the Duong Dong, which is the central district of the island. Nice beach view, cheap markets around, and the owner/manager of this hotel was very hospitable and helpful man. I enjoyed my stay at Poplar Resort very much

Nothing much. I chose this hotel as an affordable option. Therefore everything met my expectations.

Really nice family-owned hotel on the beach. The owner, Van, was very available to ensure I had the best stay : many recommendations on places to visit, to eat at, and helped me get around the island with the motorbike. Globally he made sure everything was perfect and that i felt comfortable. Great location, close to the city and market but very calm and on the beachfront. Rooms are nice and very clean. I highly recommend and hope to come back!

It’s a peaceful resort in which you can relax. Directly next to the resort is a big local marker where you can buy fresh food. You can also buy groceries for dinner at the market and the staff from the resort will cook a delicious dinner for you for only very little money. You can also use the kitchen to make yourself some breakfast. The owner is absolutely welcoming and helps you with everything you need. The scooters are in good condition :) We felt very comfortable and at home at the resort. Thank you so much!

During my recent trip to Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam, I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel. The strengths were evident; the hotel is managed by an amiable and helpful team. Its proximity to the local night market is a definite plus, making it convenient for guests to explore the local culture. Moreover, the standout feature was the delectable seafood. The staff sourced fresh seafood from the nearby market and skillfully prepared it at the hotel, creating a gastronomic delight.

The host was extremely helpful in guiding us around the island for the two short days we visited. He set up a taxi tour to visit the south of the island one day and another taxi tour to visit the north loop of the island another day. You could do these by scooter, but we opted for more comfortable slightly more expensive taxi rides. The south trip included stops at a Buddhist temple, the Phu Quoc prison, Emerald Bay beach, and Sunset Town. The north trip included a loop around the national park, and stops at Star Fish beach, Vinpearl beach and the Mango Bay resort. We really could go wherever we wanted with the taxi, just sharing for context/inspiration. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The view of the fishing boats on the water was picturesque. The Wi-Fi was plenty fast.

This small hotel deserves an extra point for its location, it is located at the local market. Every morning until evening you can attend the market, buy fresh fish, drink coffee, try various soups, have breakfast, and eat Vietnamese food - a paradise for those who love taking photos and videos. In the morning it is very nice to see the fishermen arrive on the beach. It takes 15 minutes on foot to reach the more touristy area or simply call a Grab taxi. Near the hotel there is also a supermarket, pharmacy, hairdresser, and massage. the place is highly safe and the owner is very friendly. For those who want a more local vacation rather than a touristy one, I recommend this place!

It is right on the beach. Beautiful and calming although this is the real part of town and not the tourist version. That means fishing boats, stray dogs and simple life. The place is quite far from the rest of Duong Dong. You will probably take a taxi to go in to night market and other places. It’s family-run and one of the staff cooks dinner for you if you ask. We had a fantastic grilled seafood dinner. So good and cheap. We also got some good restaurant tips from the owner that we really appreciated.

Futher from town than expected. It would have been nice if breakfast was served.
