stayed overnight in Room 106 with stairs or lifts to the 1st & 2nd floors. I was a late arrival. The staff went over and beyond to help me. They offered me parking inside and gave me extra water to take to my room. The bed & pillows comfortable, the WiFi worked well, Air Con worked well, the shower was excellent and there was a mini fridge, kettle with tea, coffee, milk & biscuits. It's a basic pub ensuite room. Perfect for me as it was the one night I wasn't working so I had no way of using my laptop. So good for those looking to stay overnight, not do any PC work and have a good feed before setting off the next morning. I heard no noise from inside the pub in my room or from other rooms (I am a light sleeper). I did hear some noise from the drunks on the street waiting for their lifts home. Breakfast in the morning was superb. The lady cooked the poached eggs to perfection. You can also have extra cereal and toast if you wish. It was ready for me at the exact time I asked for it to be. They give you three breakfast options. Only a couple of teething issues - please add a tea towel for all the rooms to have in the bar fridge area, the walls might need a coat of paint soon and I think we need to look at the check-in process especially for non-drinkers. Whilst after we get the key, it is a private entry detached to the pub I did have to wait with patrons full of drink at around 7:00pm can be confronting for some The staff however were very helpful and served me as a priority. Just some teething issues that are easily fixed. I will stay here again when needing too in Bathurst. The location is perfect across the road from the two parks and near the main shopping centres. Thank you for making the last night of my road trip a good one.
A few teething issues that are easy fixed.

A basic hotel room. It was clean, comfortable (except for the very thin pillows) the water was hot and the location is excellent. Staff are very friendly (but I think you could say that about the whole City of Bathurst) It's my second time here and as long as the cost is affordable I would have no hesitation in staying there again. Oh the blackout blinds are really good. Ideal for a sleep in.
Some proper soap in the bathroom would have been good, and it was pretty noisy at night, but it is a real pub and that's to be expected. The aforementioned pillows were really thin and very soft, had to use all four and fold one of them over to keep my head high enough.

I think I love this place. Once you are used to it's quirks it is terrific. When I say quirks, the secure parking (off Gunthers Lane) is guarded by a boom gate and requires you to ring the hotel once you have pulled into it. The other quirk is the lift. It blends into the wall so initially you miss it and have to climb the stairs which is a bit of an achievement. The rooms are spotless, the complimentary breakfast was pretty good (Great sausage) and if you are attending a function at the Bathurst Entertainment Centre, it is literally a two minute walk. I will definitely stay again.
I am hard pressed to find an issue with The Knickerbocker. Perhaps I could suggest that they put a dressing on the salad that comes with the terrific steak and the best chips I have ever had...

The room exceeded my expectations, it was really nice and the en suite was updated. I stayed on the second floor which was better for noise control from below and there was an elevator or stairs that I could use. The location in central Bathurst was excellent and really convenient to get around without a car. The inclusion of breakfast was fantastic and the ladies in the kitchen & dining room were lovely, friendly and happy to help me with directions.
Inconsiderate hotel guests who woke everyone up when they came back drunk at 2am. I know that comes with hotel stays but may request to be down the other end away from the stairs & elevator next time on the assumption it will be quieter.

An older style hotel that is gradually being refurbished. Rooms were clean and tidy. Bathrooms had some upgrades and freshly painted. Location in the centre makes walking to restaurants, cafes and shops easy. Breakfast included was a bonus and was ready at the time you had requested.the staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
Carpet not great in rooms but is obviously on the list to be upgraded.

The hotel was in the centre of the CBD and everything was walkable. Free carparking was provided at the back of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price included a free, nice, cooked breakfast. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the wifi was great. The room lighting was excellent. Tea and coffee was provided and included some biscuits including a gluten free one. There is a lift to the rooms. Dinner is available at an additional cost. We recommend the hotel.
The room is a little tired with paint peeling off the wall around the door (do not let this deter you). Our room had a view of the neighbouring roofs. There was a small step to the bathroom which could affect those with limited physical ability.

Very convenient location near shops and the hotel/pub has a friendly feeling and pub has happy hour and a bistro for lunch & dinner but many cafes Aldi and shops near, the breakfast was basic but filling enough, staff were friendly,, the A/C worked so well we never felt cold , the free coffee tea and biscuits was a nice touch, along with a small fridge. I would stay here again.
The large step up & down from the bathroom cold be a hazard. Myself and my sister both had issues but moved a chair near the door to remind us of it.

The staff were all so engaging and friendly, both the bar staff and the breakfast staff. The room was extremely clean. That was the cleanest, tidiest 'pub' room I have ever stayed in. The decor in the room was modern and colour coordinated. I really liked the grey with white and cream. The room was warm. The extra blanket was fresh and clean . I felt safe and secure. My car was close by and secured by a boom gate. When I had rang ahead before arriving the publican was very helpful, friendly and courteous.
There was nothing negative.

convenient location, breakfast included , convivial, 3 choices, nothing fancy, however a bonus when having to be up and going early in the morning. The rooms are clean, easy to access, with lift, after hours separate entrance, well furnished, comfortable beds, hot water, air cond, coffee corner, Everything is in order and in good working conditions; would not call it a ***** Hotel, simply a good old fashion friendly comfortable country town pub ( hard to find anywhere these days as most of them have gone by the wayside and an exception in Bathurst !) with parking if needed. Staff, always 100% friendly and helpful. As of today; August 2023 $105 a night b/fast included, who would not call it exceptional value.

The location of this Hotel is excellent, walking distance to everything like major shopping centres, parks, the beautiful old buildings, many places to dine, etc. A short car ride from the Bathurst track that usually you can drive around at 60km p/h. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I liked the view from my window, it was a street view but nice to sit and watch life outside the window. The meals were lovely, a cooked breakfast was included in the cost, which was a nice surprise. The restaurant staff, and the bartender were very nice and accommodating. They were helpful and friendly. I'm old, I'm glad they had a lift.
I stayed here for 3 nights and cannot think of anything that I'd complain about.
