The place is very convenient to the university, has 2 lounge areas one with large beautiful warm heater absolute must in winter and if you have a room without a kitchen there are common kitchens to use.The place itself is nice but if you don't have transport it is a hike to get to town ,there might be a bus but didn't use.The place is quiet, good for studying but has places to mingle if you want.

In winter it is COLD especially the bathroom like an ice box.It needs some kind of heating in the bathroom as the heating from the bedroom doesn't reach it.Once you heat the bedroom it is quite comfortable. Couldn't get Netflix to work.

Signage for some rooms needs improving. A few of us arrived at the same time & thankfully the lovely cleaner (?) could direct us. 2 signs pointed to a door not easily visible.

I understand this place has a dubious history but the proprietors have created a calm and comfortable space that is truly beautiful. You can’t fault the check in experience, the shared spaces and the grounds I took the word of other reviewers spruiking about the super comfortable beds and they’re not wrong, we were very impressed. So back to that history, learn a bit of the place and spend a minute or two reflecting on those who have been before you, then leave your positive vibes to accumulate in the beautiful atmosphere.

Doors need slow close things or padding as some guests allow their door to slam however this didn’t happen at night when I stayed Tips for future guests: Finding rooms was aided by the cleaner helping me to locate / the person at the other end of the text about check in is responsive The wifi does work- allow time to load to the sign in page

Room was clean, so were the amenities, however there was a flickering light in the bathroom that was not repaired and it flickered on an off verry quickly. Reported Early Friday morning, but not repaired by the Sunday when we left. However there were 2 bathrooms, so we used that one. Plenty of cookware, plates and cutlery - big kitchen with lots of room.

Opening the bedroom doors - all locked and were unable to leave open, except for a small wedge - ours was broken so used a bin to prop door open. We stayed in a family room, where every room had it's own electric lock on the door.

We really liked the design of the hotel. How clean and how big it was. The bed was amazingly comfortable and everything is updated such as the TV. It was a good location due to where we had planned to go for the day as it was close by. Parking area was easy and was a breeze to get our room key. Easy to navigate the building too

The carpets were a bit smelly but that inevitable and hard to maintain. There was no available floor mat for the bathroom to avoid slipping when stepping out of the shower. We were hoping to find a flyer on the history of the building and couldn't find one.

The building the location the self contained kitchen I wish I did know so I would of cooked us breakfast.

No one at the reception when I arrived and I wish the lights were on most of the rooms but they were all turned off. I couldn’t explore even in the morning when we weee checking out at 10am the whole building was dark in room and hallway. It was sad as I wouldn’t to take photos so I can google reviews but I couldn’t

The room is clean and the staff changed towels daily which is soo good and unexpected. The building looks so cool and the propery is vast and parking a breeze. Its very close to the race track.

The room that we got is quite small but it was quite okay considering we didnt spend much time indoors. Our friend's room is much bigger in comparison so there must be variety of rooms styles.

The room was secure, clean and comfortable. I appreciated the location of the Hallows in relation to the distance to my weekend requirements. It is a lovely old building with a very classy interior. I look forward to returning where I need extra time to have a look around and experience some of the features the Hallows provides.

As I had never stayed at this accommodation previously, I noticed the signs in the shared areas - especially the bathroom. I was unsure about what was required of me to not have to pay an additional cleaning fee.

The Hallows is a lovely old building that has plenty of potential.

The Hallows is a big property and deserves having someone in attendance, at least during peak check-in time. It is never great to arrive at a property with a touch pad code to access the building. Unmanned accommodation is never very good, it just gives a feeling of "we want you to stay here, but we can't be bothered giving you personal service". I would have rather paid a lot more money for a proper guest house type of stay with a buffet breakfast.
