Selfishly scared to give a glowing review in case it drives up prices... 🙈 This hotel is an absolute gem. I read all the reviews, but there wasn't any other options in town, so I took the plunge and packed things with me to compensate for things people complained about, and held my breath as opening the door. A warm welcome from Margaret at front desk, she had turned on heaters and electric blanket in the room. The room was spotlessly clean. New carpet and bedding. Fridge, brand new kettle and toaster, full array of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and biscuits. Huge bathroom, great water pressure, HOT water, so much so I stood in there too long enjoying and was itching all night because I had stripped my skin. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers, nice smell, not overbearing. Heater, electric blanket, cosy blanket and a spare in cupboard. So extremely happy with our $129 a night stay. I just hope it isn't $320 next year. 😆

The only two things of note are that there isn't a connection on the door for the security chain, and the blaring light from porch, which could happen in any higher end hotel. I had to put garbage bags in the windows at Qualia on Hamilton island and it was a couple of grand. The blinds are perfectly clean tidy and serviceable, it's just that slats allow light in. I saw this on another review and did bring an eye mask, but it's seriously that bright that I kept on thinking it was daylight in the slither at my nose. I bought foil, an old mining camp trick is to put foil in the windows with a wet face cloth. An outside big bin would be good to, for the takeaway containers.

Good reception, peace of mind. Warm and cosy when travellers were tired and just need a good night sleep but ran out of toiletries and need a good meal nearby. Location is good, good for next day trip up to Thredbo or Perisher. BTW, the linens were white and blankets were beige, not the fancy linen as pictured online. Housekeeping did good job cleaning. Was told new carpets will come in soon. All beds had electric blankets and room had wall panel heater. Down side was no chair or table, but it didn’t bother us. Good quad room for family to stay a night to or from the mountains. Don’t risk driving night time, not worth it.

Carpet but they will change it soon. The locks, but the place seemed secure. Basically, the pros outweighed the cons and will consider staying here again if we go to Thredbo again, rather rushing to Jindy by sunset.

The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The room wasn’t over big but big enough for our requirements. Cutlery, crockery, tea, coffee, sugar etc were plenty for our requirements.

There were no bath mats or hand towels, or enough places to hang wet towels for all. The shower took a long time to get hot and the water dripped out rather than spray. It would have been nice to have a chair to sit on rather than having to sit on the bed.

Easy to communicate directly with hotel staff…ie not just thru a website.. they were flexible on access hours. Room was clean and good value for money for transiting thru or even few nights. Not a modern motel or facilities but I wanted a clean room at a good price.. Thankyou.

Not sure if they had access to laundry facilities as room marked “laundry” didn’t appear to be one. ??

Basic room which was what I expected for the price. Bed and bathroom were clean. Easy and swift check in. Location was perfect. Off the main road so it was quiet but walking distance to shops and places to eat. Would stay again.

Reception could stay open a little later

Communication was great. We arrived late at night to a cosy warm room. Everything was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the motel was located in a quiet back street off the main road. Good value for money during the ski season.

An older style hotel that could do with a bit of an update.

The Swiss Motel is a convenient and well priced stopover in Cooma. Beds were comfortable and staff were helpful. Located just down the road from the ski hire, if you’re headed for the snow.

There location is perfect for me it’s centre of town and easy walk down the hill to anything I need,the price is right as all I need is clean private amenities with a nice bed and safe parking in front of my room

Pleasantly surprised by this place. The complex is very sad and tired, however the room appeared renovated, super comfy beds, heating and electric blankets worked and were already on. The bathroom wasn't renovated yet but was adequate. To my surprise, I'd be happy enough to stay again for a budget stop over. It's also well located being in a very quiet residential area just one street back from the main drag.

It took a long time for the water in the shower to become warm. The complex is tired and not pretty, but judging from the rooms they are slowly doing it up. Nothing is cheap in the Snowy Mountains in winter but it served the purpose very well when few other hotels had vacancies.

The gentleman at reception was exceptionally friendly and gave us such a warm welcome.
