Perfect overnight stop over. I would happily stay and eat here again. The upstairs bedroom was comfortable, linen was good quality and the towels were soft and snow white. A large choice of Senior specials were available for lunch and dinner. Great value and the staff were accommodating and friendly. The shared bathroom was old but everything worked and it was well supplied with clean floor mats and consumables. Overall great value for money.

The staff were exceptional, friendly , efficient and helpful. The room was clean, bathroom clean and easily accessible. Having a basin and TV in the room made staying relaxing. The additional facilities in particular tea point, fridge, and iron appreciated.I would definitely book again.

It was all fine. In the middle of the night I was woken by a loud voice that seemed to be on a radio connection, such as a taxi. This happened twice. It was quite unusual and a bit odd. I was in room 11.

We drive from Melbourne quite often to visit Canberra & Sydney. Now with a little one, we’ll definitely be staying here again on our way. Great pub menu, extremely competitive prices & delicious food. It’s really kid friendly with the playground attached to the restaurant. I’d recommend stopping there for a meal even if not staying in the accommodation. The accommodation itself is incredibly well priced too. There are several individual bathrooms across the top floor so though they’re shared, there was no wait time to use them & a bathroom was quite close to every room. The staff were all really friendly. The rooms had bar fridges, very useful for our travel supplies & some rooms had sinks (we had 2 rooms, 1 with sink, 1 without). There was a handy tea/ coffee/ toaster station central to all the rooms upstairs, which was very handy for a quick & easy start in the morning before carrying on with the drive.

Unfortunately the blinds & curtains don’t keep a lot of the morning sun out so it was a very early morning being woken by the light. If people were noisy in the hallways the sound was loud in the room, though no sound seemed to travel between rooms, which was good.

given there was a fridge (and a sink for water) in the room, i would have thought a tiny side table with a kettle and 2 mugs (even disposable mugs, spoon to remove washing) would have been there. we were disappointed to not be able to have a late night cuppa after dinner in our room whilst watching tv. in fact i turned the fridge off as it was a waste of electricity - no milk in it so not sure what it was doing there! xx

Such good value for money for a stop along a road trip. The outside dining area with gated playground is especially great when travelling with kids & the meals are delicious & also great value.

It’s been there a while & though it’s generally clean there are some things that can’t be made sparkling new after a while, eg the basin in our room had staining. Not a big deal though.

Highly recommend much better experience than a basic roadside motel. Love the historic nature of the building.

Could have been more toilets, was ok for us but if more rooms occupied could have been a problem. More vegan options in the bistro would be nice, we had a long talk to the owner about this and he was very friendly and accommodating and said they were updating the menu to add more modern choices. I am hoping the vegan option is not just tofu though as that was what they had that night. But overall very nice place good food, lovely old building and great staff.

Great value for money. Beds were clean and comfortable. Room was very warm without having to turn the heater on. Very friendly staff

I rated the facilities low, but they were absolutely fine for the price. A small sink in the room, tv (couldn’t find the remote but we just went to bed early) and fridge. No tea/coffee facilities in room, but there was a little station in the hallway.

I loved the old style pub feel, but with upgrades to make it really comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms were really clean. Meals were excellent and well priced. We ate there all 3 nights! Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Mick the manager was exceptionally helpful. Went above and beyond to find a room for our friends and even jump started my car when I had a flat battery!

Bedding was a little odd...soft cheap pillows Old shabby blankets covered with double sheets Parking area needs an area set out for guests and a separate garbage area ...the staff could be told not to slam doors downstairs under rooms near the stairway

Staff were exceptional, so friendly and welcoming. Was a bit sceptical about the shared bathrooms, but all facilities were very clean. Dinner from the bistro was delish. They even had a jumping castle for the kids, which was awesome after being in the car for 12 hrs. Beds were super comfy.
