We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cradle Mountain Lodge. The cabin was lovely, clean, and spacious, with a real wood fireplace that added to its charm. The highlight, however, was the incredible wildlife - just walking from the cabin to the restaurant, we encountered so many animals! The trails starting from the lodge are easy and beautiful to explore, and the location, just a five-minute walk from the shuttle bus, is very convenient. The staff were lovely, and the night safari was a fun and memorable experience.

The lodge clearly capitalizes on its prime location at the park entrance, charging a disproportionately high price for the cabins. It was by far the most expensive accommodation we stayed at in Australia, even compared to 5-star hotels in Melbourne and Sydney. For such an astronomical price, we expected more generosity - complimentary tours, for instance, or a more sophisticated breakfast. The breakfast offered was very basic, with simple ingredients that didn’t match the premium cost, and limiting customers to one cup of cappuccino felt cheap. Despite the high price, I’d stay here again - the stunning nature and abundant wildlife make it a truly unique experience!

The breakfast served all worked tastes with cooked breakfast ad well as continental available, but my favourite on these cold mornings was the porridge with the cinnamon apple and berry compote! Coffee was very good and second cups were available if requested. Dinner at the Highland restaurant was superb and our waitress was so helpful friendly and engaging. It is however a little pricey so we had dinner there only on our first night and chose the tavern for the next to evenings.

Perhaps the tavern could offer a greater variety of dinner options. The food is good but is staple pub fare with pizza, burgers, fries, schnitzel and basic salad. Perhaps offering lamb shanks and mash or some other non-fried offerings.

Beautiful setting. Staff were lovely and helpful. The room was nice and big with a lovely gas fire which kept us warm. I appreciated the free mini bar items! It was easy to park and there were lots of great walks around the area with wombats and pademelons. It was definitely the most picturesque hotel I have stayed at. We also had a great time at the spa which we were able to reserve privately.

It was very expensive, especially the food at the Tavern, which was pretty ordinary. I would avoid ordering the Italian options (pizza and pasta). The curry I ordered on the second night was an improvement, but very expensive for what it was. The portions were large at least. It was a shame that the activities were pricey, as they sounded enjoyable, but the walks were free.

Everything about this lodge is special and beautiful! Our room was very clean, spacious and we loved the balcony's and spa bath. The lodge building is so atmospheric with open fires, warm and comfy couches. The restaurant is great for a special dinner and the bistro excellent for casual dining and we enjoyed participating in the trivia night too! The location is so easy to access the shuttle bus into the National Park, just a short walk from the Ranger Station Interpretation Centre where the bus picks up. We loved all the short walks around the lodge, the animal life is so special and the forest surrounds spectacular.

The location is great, close to the national park and trails. We saw a lot of wildlife animals around the property. The general atmosphere is warm and has an old charm feeling. The cabin is comfortable and feels warm and welcoming. All facilities in the room are functional and well maintained. The communication is excellent from the reservation team, front office, and housekeeping. All the requests passed on correctly. Check-in was smooth and informative, and staff members were very friendly and helpful. The room was well clean and excellent the quality of Bedsheets and towals. F&B We had meals every day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner during our stay. The food was good and tasty, but there was some hit and missed on someday. For example, we found a long hair in one of the dishes but staff apologised and changed a new dish straight away.

The sausage at the breakfast was tasteless and rubbery. It should not be on the breakfast line at all. Some F&B staff members were not smiling or friendly. This could be improved, and this will make a huge difference.. The non-slip wire on the balcony has some loose section and shape. Shoes are required when you stepped on the balcony.

Being immersed in nature was the highlight of course. The cabin was cosy with a lovely outlook which made you feel part of the forest. Pademelons jumped by. Platypus in the pond which you could watch from the breakfast room was amazing. Breakfast buffet was ample. Wombat right outside the little store, one metre away! The Park entrance and shuttle stop were so close. Lovely walks right at your door. The tavern was cosy and food nice. Loved it all.

If you care about having wifi and tv in your cabin (which i didn't) you might be disappointed. Wifi available at main lodge /tavern.

This was a beautiful property, meeting and delightfully exceeding our expectations - it is a top end experience that we very much enjoyed. Luxury in the lap of the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site that is Cradle Mountain ⛰️ Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again. Accommodation, restaurant, tavern, Spa facilities, gorgeous walks to accommodate all levels of fitness and of course the beautiful wildlife. Great experiences and tours also available including fly fishing, night wildlife tours, Tassie Devil tours and guided walks available.

The location was amazing! The wildlife at your door is incredible - we saw an echidna and wombat within minutes of arriving. The local platypus was a bonus! The lodge is set up to create a wood cabin feel with big cozy leather lounges, fire places and games. You can have a coffee or hot chocolate while enjoying the atmosphere. The rooms were very comfortable, bed super big and cozy, spa bathtub fabulous for soaking tired muscles and the rooms provided crockery and cutlery if you had your own Tassie produce to eat which meant you don’t need to buy at the near by restaurants if you come prepared. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, although at peak times the team are really working hard to keep up! A little kindness and politeness and they are very happy to help you or get what you need. Bishal on the restaurant and tavern was an added bonus - smiling and welcoming on our arrival each time and went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met! Lovely guy! All the team were lovely, he particularly stood out. We used the spa for a massage and a session at the sanctuary - the spa and sauna was both working and was AMAZING! Staying with such easy access to the national park and the beautiful local surrounds and wildlife is well worth the money. You are paying for the experience, the surrounds and a very cosy and comfortable stay with a highly suitable vibe and atmosphere that is exactly what you imagine a lodge to be.

Nothing! It was perfect!

The room was really nice and comfortable. The breakfast was really great. We booked the sanctuary in the spa which was fantastic. However we did ring back to find out the name of the the wine we purchased and the person who answered did not speak English very well and could not answer our question.

I had sent 3 emails requesting the menu for the Christmas dinner did not get a reply. Tried ringing no answer. Someone rang me to ask if i was booking in for dinner i said i needed a menu emailed to me. Still didn't happen. So you missed out on 3 people booking in for Christmas dinner. We were there in Nov and the tavern menu was much more comprehensive. It has changed but it needed some more options on it especially for snacky food. You also do not have any cakes etc to have with a coffee

The proximity to all activities in the park was excellent, and the grounds themselves were a good springboard for several walks of different skill and fitness requirements. The cabin - not room - was comfortable and delightfully warm when I arrived on a drizzly cold day; it was also very large and extremely private. Parking right outside your 'room' is a bonus. The breakfast provided was excellent, and the special dinner for Christmas was outstanding. Food in the tavern was also excellent.

No wifi in the cabins - and no TV if you are into that. While some cabins are close to the main lodge I was about as far as you could get and with a dodgy knee the paths downhill in the wet and uphill afterwards were a challenge; I had to make conscious choices to drive back to the main lodge or be prepared to take my time over a walk - both choices viable given the distance, but walking not always an option given the changeable weather. The roadways to the cabins need some attention, fortunately I drive a 4WD. Apart from location, I cannot see why the room prices are so high.
