We absolutely loved our stay at this beautifully repurposed Church – such a unique and memorable experience! We were in town for the Australian Rowing National Championships and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The rooms were comfortable, the bed was cosy, and the common areas were spacious and welcoming. The host, Robert, was exceptional – super friendly and full of fascinating local history. He made sure we were well looked after and served us a delicious breakfast featuring local jams and homemade bread. Robert, the owner is great! The kind of person who I would want to be friends with if I lived in the area. The building is old, and you have to share a bathroom… but it was lovely and all of this information is provided upfront. This location is also near the little penguin viewing platform, which was great. If you like the traditional BnB experience this could be the perfect fit.

Not sure that I would recommend this location to a family with young children or for someone with mobility issues (as the bedrooms are on the second floor).

I liked the peace and quiet of the place and its proximity to Sheffield. The Host was pleasant and friendly.

Improvements need to be made to visitor comfort i.e there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room which means if you want a cup first thing you can’t just be in your underwear going downstairs yo the kitchen in the hope you won’t run into the Owner. The bed in my room was quite squeaky. If you were a couple it would not be pleasant knowing everyone else knew what you were doing.

What an outstanding and pleasant host Robert is! Such a joy, relaxed, entertaining, full of tips, helpful. Good breakfast. VERY nice accommodation. Really old, but very cosy. Nice rural surroundings. We saw a platypuss nearby at 20 minutes drive in the botanical garden. Highly recommend, would definitely book again. Good place to stay when visiting cradle mountain. About an hour drive away.

I needed to go onto the next stop, I would have liked to stay longer.

The host was super friendly, welcoming and kind. He communicated very quickly and clearly. The bed was so comfortable and he made sure we would not be cold. The room was exactly as advertised. The bathroom was clean and the bath was amazing. Then in the morning we were served a delicious breakfast with local jams and homemade bread. We're very thankful for the hospitality of the host and for giving us a memorable stay!

Very unusual accomodation in the old church. The wooden church was cheerfully colorful with a romantic garden. Although our private bathroom was outside of our room, all the staying was so lovely, so it didn't bother us at all. It was the most unique place we stayed during our one-month vacation in Australia. Very kind host, who showed us also those parts of the church that are in private use.

Set in beautiful rural location about 7 mins drive from Sheffield and not far from Cradle Mountain. Owner & host Robert is friendly, welcoming & full of information about the area and his unique B&B. Robert supplied a nice cooked breakfast and coffee plus we had a refrigerator, coffee machine in our room which was spacious & comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay including the gardens, surrounds & views in this lovely area.

The warmth and hospitality extended by Robert himself set the tone for what was an exceptionally relaxing experience. It's an ideal spot for enjoying a good book, with the tranquility only interrupted by the gentle sounds of nature from the stunning garden. I spent many hours just walking the pathways or sitting on a bench, admiring the array of flowers and plants. Robert's B&B is more than just a bed and breakfast; it's an excellent place for relaxing in Tasmania that I'm already looking forward to visiting again.

Talk about hospitality! We were welcomed with a warm cup of tea and an interesting tour of the church and it's history. Each room had its own TV with access to Netflix and Disney+ which was great! For breakfast we were given three options to choose from and boy was it delicious. We were super impressed with the addition of homemade bread (which made the house smell absolutely divine as it was cooking). We would definitely stay here again should we return to this part of Tasmania.

Everything ! Robert, the owner, welcomes you in his lovely church and makes you feel at home straight away. He knows all about the church, and has many more stories to tell, which we really enjoyed. Breakfast with homemade bread and local jams was delicious. His little bird, Taco, is quite the attraction ! We had the oak suite, with a very comfortable king bed, and a private bathroom with a spa bath. The church is in the middle of the countryside, 20 minutes from Devonport, 5 minutes from a town with all facilities and an hour from Cradle Mountain.
