Very accommodating host happy to share her knowledge of the Cradle Mountain area and fit in with your plans. Good decent sized well-appointed cabin with very comfy bed. Convenient location for Cradle Mountain (easy 30km - 20 mins drive). Decent cafe for breakfast which opens early (with good coffee) and can also order tasty home cooked dinners delivered to your rooms (pumpkin soup was superb) for the evenings. Wonderful to see small wallabies / pademelons grazing outside the window. For a city dweller, the night skies are superb (try to find a dark spot out of the street and Cradle Gateway lighting). Wifi was reliable and important given that reception in general in the area is poor. Note that there are no shops or anything so get snacks, drinks etc from Deloraine or Sheffield on the way in. Microwave, toaster, crockery, cutlery, basic utensils etc in the cabin so could also self cater simple breakfasts (though I ate at the cafe).

Peaceful surroundings. Very friendly hostess. Possibility of simple home cooked meals if ordered, and although the cafe closes at 3, our hostess could arrange food to be delivered. Comfortable bed. Wifi adequate for our needs. There is a heater in the room so we were warm and cosy. Enough plates, bowls and cutlery to self cater if you brought provisions.

Our only complaint was the the second morning there was no hot water. We knew the distance to Cradle Mtn Visitors Centre, but probably if we come again, we will decide to pay (a lot) more to be closer and avoid that drive. Many of the fittings (Taps etc) were shabby, but the current owners have only been there for a little while and are working hard to build up the business so I’m sure if we return in a couple of years that will have been addressed.

The place is located about 20 mins by car from Cradle Mountain visitor center - quite central and value for money especially during the peak season. It has 4-5 individual studio cottage units next to a cafe run by the same owners besides a large picturesque open grass field. Anita and her family were very warm - Anita welcomed us in person, showed the place around and guided us well. The cafe has good food options but more than the food, genuinely caring and attentive owners. The cottage itself is a studio with a small kitchen, bed and sofa (convertible to bed) and a spacious bathroom. The place is ideal for 2 people for 2-3 nights stay. Thanks to Anita and family for a memorable stay.

Convenient location near Cradle Mt National Park, pleasant garden setting, spacious room, easy hour walk down quiet forest roadway to a pretty dam.

Information about catering. I was informed that I would need to self cater unless I wanted to book into a restaurant which would require driving at night. On arrival the owner told me that she could provide dinners and breakfast but I already had purchased supplies by this time.

Anita is an excellent host and goes out of her way to ensure your stay is relaxing and comfortable - even providing you with epsom salts for a long soak after a day of hiking on Cradle Mountain 😃. The chalet room was well appointed, clean and cosy and only a short 30 min trip to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. The room rates are certainly value for money. A very enjoyable stay.

Anita was a warm and friendly host. The meals we ordered for our dinner were delivered right on time, even in the rain, and were delicious! The location is great, with lots of bush around and plenty of wildlife. Only 20 or so minutes from the Cradle Mountain visitors centre.

Our rooms were quite comfy. Very basic kitchenette, and that was fine. Very quiet. Felt quite rural. Hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Food was surprisingly good. Definitely would recommend getting lunch/dinner from them.

It is a drive to Cradle Mountain. The 20 minutes in the morning isn't bad, but in the dark feels a bit treacherous with all the wildlife.

I arrived in the evening when it was dark and was immediately greeted by the friendly host who showed me to my cabin. The cabin was well set-up with all the comforts of home. The location was superb, with lots of nature surrounding .... and the stars were next level amazing! I stayed for 2 nights but wish it had been more!

The walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on in the adjacent cabin, which is a problem when it's after midnight.

I was very comfortable at Cradle Gateway Chalets. The accommodation was great and places I wanted to visit (Marakoopa caves and Cradle Mountain) were close. Meals are available for purchasing upon request and Anita was very helpful in every way.

There were no negatives about Cradle Gateway chalets.

The studio was very spacious and well equipped. The bathroom had a bathtub and shower pressure was great. The decor was very pleasant and it made it feel like a true mountain chalet. Food was available for in house guests even when the café was closed.

The carpet could do with a good vacuum and the less utilised areas such as window sills with a good clean.
