A very clean and welcoming hotel with a view of the water. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It was located right by the shopping and restaurants in this town. We had a nice walk during the afternoon through the nearby park towards the lighthouse. The restaurant downstairs had an Asian menu and my dinner was delicious. The staff of both the hotel and restaurant were all great.

We were traveling without a car and It would have been nice to have a shuttle to and from the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry terminal. The ferry dock looks so close to the hotel, but it is across the Mersey River, so you had to drive around via the Bass Highway. We needed to hire an Uber to get to the hotel.

The decor was modern & trendy. The staff at Reception were excellent on arrival & all through our stay. In particular Katie & Cloe were stand outs. They bent over backwards to make us feel comfortable & made allowances for the fact that we were a couple of Dinasos' when it came to 'IT'. The room that we had was extremely spacious & comfortable. Likewise, the staff in the Resteraunt & Bar were amazing. It just goes to show that "You can't beat good old Excellence in Customer Service"! it doesn't cost the company any more money but can earn it a lot more business. Ray your Maintenance Man was also excellent. We had a few little issues with the Toilet Door & the TV Set & he went out of his to get thing right. He even came back into work one night to fix something for us. "He is a Keeper"!

For our needs (appetite) and budget the banquet breakfast was disappointing to be the only on offer. We would have liked to stay at the hotel as it was a cold rainy morning but ended up having to leave the premises to get a simple egg breakfast and coffee for a price more suited to our budget and the amount of food wanting to be consumed. It would be great if you could offer a small breakfast option as well as the "all you can eat buffet", especially for female guests, as the extra expense for the smaller eater is not justified. Your staff were helpful in suggesting a place to go in the local vicinity however, which did suit our needs beautifully.

In one of our most difficult moments, your hotel’s team became a guiding light in our journey. Manager Eastban offered warmth and thoughtfulness when we were thrown into panic after our rental car was stolen. He not only assisted us through the situation, but generously allowed us a late check-out so our children could have a safe place to rest. That kind of kindness is rare and deeply appreciated. Receptionist Brooke was equally remarkable. She personally accompanied us to the car rental company to sort things out, and even after finishing her shift, she followed up with us to see how we were doing and did everything she could to help. Her care went far beyond her duties and made us feel truly seen and supported. With more people like Eastban and Brooke, your hotel will surely continue to radiate warmth, energy, and unforgettable hospitality. Thank you for being one of the most beautiful parts of our journey.

The location was great we were on the 6th floor and the water views were terrific. The bed and pillows were so comfortable that we have checked who the manufacturers were, pillows ordered already. The staff went out of t.heir way to make our week there amazing.. There is an Irish pub with excellent food just up the road and a Chinese across the road which is the best in Tasmania.

The cost of parking on-site was expensive but the under cover parking just a little way up the road was much cheaper and staff at the hotel were able to organise vouchers.

Loved our stay! Absolutely loved the place and the setup. The breakfast buffet was simple but had everything we needed. The room was clean and cozy, and I especially appreciated being able to Chromecast from my phone—it made entertaining the kids so much easier! We also loved how easily we could move the beds to create one big bed, which the kids thought was great. The staff were amazing—super friendly and helpful. And we were spoiled with chocolates, Easter fun!

The breakfast buffet was simple but had everything we needed. That said, it would’ve been nice to have a dairy-free butter option for toast. My child has a milk allergy, and there were very limited food options for him, which was a bit of a shame. If I had to nit-pick, the parking could be better. The affordable and secure option was council parking, but it was a bit inconvenient having to walk a block to and from the hotel.

Near on unbeatable location in Devonport. Nearby eateries, waterfront walking trails, watch the spirit of tas and other boats coming and going, centrally located. Having a partnered offsite parking garage for only $10 per 24hrs with unlimited entry/exit was also excellent value! The hotel was ultra clean in our room, none of those odd little dust spots or such like can be found in some hotels. Check in staff were lovely, Belle checked us in and did a couple of admin bits and pieces for us during our stay and she was great and very friendly. Would definitely recommend staying here.

This is being pretty picky because it was still decent value at $25 per head. But the buffet breakfast is pretty generic, the usual scrambled eggs, bacon, sauces and thendifferent fruits, yoghurt and then cereals and breads. Especially given how I felt the staff put in a great amount of effort and attentiveness with their service and clean up at breakfast time it would be good to have a bit better breakfast For how good the hotel is I think a couple little alterations/additions to the breakfast setup would just elevate the hotel to its full potential.

We had lovely ocean view room, the room was spacious, the bathroom was clean, compact sized but functional, and the bed was large, firm and comfortable. We arrived on Christmas Eve so we booked our dinner in the hotel’s restaurant. My husband ordered a beef curry, and he really enjoyed it. I was craving for Phad Thai so I ordered one and really enjoyed as well. Breakfast was continental, there were good varieties of hot and cold food selections, pretty happy with what we had for $25 each person. The hotel is very close to spirit of Tasmania, which it was an easy 10-12 min drive.

We enjoyed the view from the 3rd floor. Bed was comfortable. Loved the big shower head in the bathroom. That was about it.

As a coffee drinker, it was disappointing there was only enough coffee for 2 half mugs.. I felt that part of my stay was let down as most people would relax in their room with a coffee before bed and upon waking up. No extra pillows or blankets in the cupboard, and the toiletries were on the empty side and couldn’t get enough moisturiser out to even do a leg. Came prepared to pay cash but had my card charged as soon as I checked in and wasn’t asked about how I was paying.. I’ve stayed in a lot of fancy hotels and sadly this one isn’t up to my standard.

The bed and pillow were actually comfortable, it was very clean. They have a rain shower head shower as well as a normal shower, you can use one or the other, amazing. Also the blackout curtains were fitted very well which ment no light coming in so we could sleep. My husband and I travel a fair bit and this was by far the best Novotel we stayed at. The staff were fantastic and very helpful. Gave us a few tips on places to visit. If we ever go back to Devenport, Tasmania we will stay at Novotel again. We highly recommend.

Mini bar wasn't stocked fully so we got charged for items we didn't eat and drink, however when we mentioned this they refunded the money without any drama.
