Our room was spacious and had a lovely view over parkland to the Mersey River with all manner of smaller vessels moored nearby. Our need for a lack of stairs was missed... perhaps by me in the booking phase... but after some push and shove, the receptionist organised an ideal room. Much appreciated. We applaud the house keepers too, who, over our six night stay, kept our beds made, supplied daily fresh towels and satisfied a couple of special requests. The location was ideal for a week of exploring the north coast of Tasmania.
Our room was fitted with plenty of drawer and cupboard storage, but the self closing hardware on many of them did not function correctly and it was a fight to close them properly. It was our only complaint.

The cleaning staff were very helpful, obliging and catered to all our needs. Considering we had a 15 night stay our room didn't need servicing everyday. The cleaning staff were all helpful and friendly.
There was a night 3 weeks after Christmas where the restaurant and bar was closed for a Christmas party for all the staff. Although this is ok to do this, it wasn't known to guests. There were no signs on the doors explaining it was closed and I think there should have been some sort of note left in all the rooms telling Guests this was happening. It was a big inconvenience as we then had to get in cars and go look for somewhere to eat.

Room # 3 was in just the right spot to park the car as the step up was only little for our old knees. As we both like to fish, the location was across the road from the little pier. The locals were happy to chat to you about their experiences there. The room was well appointed and very clean as was the little fridge with the freezer section that we needed for the ice blocks for our medication. Had dinner at the Bistro two nights and the Seniors Special was lovely........."small" main, drink and "small" sweetie was just right.

The family room was very nice. It had a kitchenette so we could make coffee, keep things cold in the fridge, cook toast and microwave for reheating. The beds were very comfortable with lovely lined. The bathroom was lovely with ample space, very nice toiletries and ample towels etc. The bistro served nice, reasonably priced meals. The motel was close to shops and the dock for the Spirit of Tasmania
Cars were coming and going from the hotel gaming room carpark which is situated next to the rooms

Convenient hotel literally 5 minutes from the spirit of Tasmania terminal. The bistro offers meals till late and breakfast from 6:30am which is great for when we stayed after arriving on a day sailing and stayed here the night before a day sailing back. Food is excellent and good size portion in both the bistro for dinner and then for breakfast the next day. Staff very friendly and welcoming. There’s quite a big step up to some of the rooms so suggest asking the lovely reception staff if you have mobility issues and they will look after you. All in all a good place to stay for the price. Can’t complain at all

We struggled to find a taxi or uber to go pick up our rental cars and the Chef was so lovely enough to take us in his own time. We can not thank you enough for your beautiful friendly hospitality.
Travelling to the motor inn from the ferry was the downfall, we walked with 16 suitcases and my mother in a wheelchair as there was 1, 4 seater taxi on duty. Nothing to do with the motor inn but definitely something to organise before the journey. Otherwise everything was 5 star.

We had the family room which was a great size, heaps of room to put bags etc. Excellent to have bench space, cutlery, crockery and a toaster. Great to have a bath and separate shower.
The bunk bed needed a bedside table and the bunk was quite squeaky and wobbled a bit. The bathroom needed a small under bench bin, not a big kitchen pop up lid bin that I had to move out from under the bench everytime I needed to use it. More hooks in the bathroom and some shelves would be good, especially handy for a family of 5 using it.

Sadly,Tasmania has become expensive in virtually every aspect for the traveller.Pensioners like us rely on hope and fairness in every transaction. It is no longer the pleasant place to visit, greed from too many has created this. Argosy offered comfy and suitable accommodation for us,and we thank you for this. Thus far at every other town we are being ripped off and it is a blight on almost everyone thus far.It is blatant thievery and gouging.Argosy are the exception.Thankyou.

This is a motel, and is rated as such. Argosy Motor Inn was impressive - excellent value, very clean and comfortable and well equipped for my single night stay. I felt very safe staying here as a solo older female traveller. It was clean and smelled fresh. The room was spacious. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, with pristine white, good quality sheets. I slept well. Everything worked and was present - lights, tv remote, basin plugs, face washers, coathangers etc, There were plenty of powerpoints conveniently located. Great bathroom. Immaculately clean with a large walk in shower with excellent water pressure. Clean soft white towels, a large modern vanity and large mirror. There was a microwave, bar fridge, kettle, crockery, glassware and cutlery for two, and basic tea and coffee supplies. Parking was right outside the room door, making unloading easy and making me feel very safe returning to the motel later in the evening. The motel complex was very quiet despite seeming to have almost full occupancy. 11am checkout was a nice touch. Located 5 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal, this was the perfect accommodation to meet a friend arriving from the overnight ferry at 7am, before we continued our Tassie break together. Five minute drive in to Devonport central area, so a very convenient location. Reception was friendly and very efficient - check-in took about 2 minutes. Checkout was equally efficient. Bistro and breakfast room on-site, but I did not use either so cannot comment.
Some of the decor was dated, but new bathroom facilities and quality modern bedding helped considerably.

Clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Evening meal in the bistro offered a good choice and reasonable prices with big servings. Breakfast in the dining room was also reasonably priced with several options and large serves. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We left luggage at the motel and walked to the ferry terminal to pick up hire car but it was 30mins on the footpath not the pleasant stroll along the river we had anticipated.
