Hi, it was a night away for us to relax. The hotel and facilities was great, a-stones throw from the beach and city centre. We had dinner in the restaurant, that didn’t meet our expectations, for pub meal style.my schnitzel was half cooked in warm oil I would have thought. It was all soggy and raw, which is unusual to see. Chips were fried to a crunch, with no potato in them. My wife had a fisherman’s basket, that looked good, apart from the marinated squid and over fried up fries, she thought it wasn’t to bad. Having said that we went for the location and facilities it offered on line. That was everything and more one could expect for the dollars. Yes we would stay there again, but maybe not dine there.
Food, but maybe it was just a bad night

We stayed in the Deluxe King Studio. It was great - a large room with kitchenette, dining table, sofa and king bed. The bathroom was fine although a little small compared to the rest of the room. Outside we had a terrace with table and chairs and outdoor sofa and two chairs - overlooking the bay. Staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. Food in the restaurant was also excellent- the roast brisket just melted in the mouth.
Everything was good - only one small issue was the noise from the room next door but that really is just pot luck as to how considerate your neighbours are.

Lovely little spot. I was sceptical when seeing all rooms were attached but I did not hear anyone else making noise. Restaurant was lovely! We had cob loaf and parmies. Delish. The outside light was left on for too long and the light did shine through despite all blinds being closed. Tables didn't look like they had been wiped down properly and fridge difficult to open and close due to being on the floor, could definitely find a cheap way to fix this. Bed super comfortable, shower had body wash, shampoo and conditioner and hand wash. Also a hair dryer which I didn't bring so happy with that! Overall we would definitely stay again despite these small details that are easy fixes.

Great place to stay before our Maria Island visit. The accommodation was large and airy, we could make drinks, sit outside and had a fridge. We ate in the restaurant which was typical pub food - one fish and chips and one chicken parmigiana both very nice, chicken very large, vegetables good. A little wait for the food but they were busy. Bottle shop next door if required. They don’t do breakfast but two cafes did if required.

Basic & affordable accommodation an hour away from Hobart. Parking is convenient & there’s a pub that opens until late the night we checked in. The room itself was nice, spacious and clean and had water view right outside.
Could improve on the communication, as the hotel manager’s number stuck outside was not contactable at all for late check in guest. Had to wait for pub guests to exit the venue before we finally manage to get inside to check in.

Fantastic views and lovely clean cabin. Very comfortable beds. Expectations of the property well defined (noted that there is rainwater tanks so will need to boil water, and had bottled water provided) as well as how to leave the property on checkout. Was very quiet, and despite seeing 3-4 other cabins being used we heard no one else around us. The property is slightly out of town which is expected with the views you have!

I arrived much later than expected; a bit after 9pm. Not only did staff keep reception open to let me in, but when I told them I hadn't eaten, they cooked me a very tasty pizza. The kitchen had already been closed an hour, but they did it anyway. The staff and locals were so friendly, I ended up chatting and eating my pizza at the hotel bar until 10.30pm. As a single mum of 4 and tea-totaller, I am naturally a home-body. I was taken by surprise by how welcoming they all were. I had a really good time. I also asked for and was given a late checkout. My room was like a detached unit with its own beach-side deck. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean. The bed was king-size and very comfy. The towels looked brand new. There was a clean kettle, toaster and bar fridge. The heatpump kept me cosy. The hotel is only a minute's stroll to Raspins Beach; voted Tasmania's cleanest beach. There is a bird sanctuary here and the path beside the hotel follows its border. I saw many beautiful parrots in the gumtrees and also saw some ambitious ducks swimming for Maria Island. It was a hot day. But I was the only one exploring Raspins Beach. Then I walked back along the path, past the hotel, to the nearby cafes for lunch. The location of Orford Blue Waters Hotel is so beautiful, the room so clean, the staff and locals so friendly, I would 100% come back and stay here again. I enjoyed staying here much more than other more expensive hotels because there are some things money just can't buy.
It would have been great to have a microwave to reheat my leftover pizza in the morning.

The room was beautiful with an amazing view. The huge floor to ceiling windows felt so luxurious and was lovely waking up to the sunset. Would be the perfect summer getaway stop. The food at the restaurant was great too. Great cafe close by for breakfast.
The bathroom smelt like old running shoes for a reason we couldn’t work out. It was a pretty cold room, we stayed in spring and was fine but I think it would be very cold in winter. The large windows meant there was a lot of cold coming in over night and the aircon didn’t keep up.

When we arrived I asked to move to another room with views. This was provided for a small increase in room rate. All staff were friendly and service was excellent. The restaurant is also excellent with an interesting menu from simple snacks to finer dining. We ate here each evening and the daily specials changed every day and were always interesting. The chef was young and we told him how much we had enjoyed our meals. We had not been to Orford before and would highly recommend the Blue Waters Hotel.

The facilities appear to have been updated and look very fresh and clean. The parking was easy. The location is near the water and not far from the shops which are on the other side of the river. It is an hotel and has a restaurant if you want to eat in as well as a bottle shop. There is a fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and kettle in the room. The bed was very comfortable.
I would have liked a microwave in the room. There are soap dispensers in the bathroom which require squeezing the holder to get the soap. This took some working out. It wasn't fixed very well to the wall.
