This was my second stay at the St Helens Panorama Hotel, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. I absolutely love the rooms—spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. This time, I had a room right at the end of the corridor, which made it beautifully quiet and peaceful. The bed was excellent, ensuring a great night’s sleep. I dined à la carte at the hotel restaurant, and the food was both beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall pleasant experience. The hotel’s location right on Georges Bay gives it a tranquil, idyllic atmosphere—perfect for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommended

The Panorama is perfectly located on the waterfront in the centre of St Helens. Everything about this Hotel is first rate, from the Seaview rooms with balcony, the restaurant and bar, the staff and plenty of car parking. My favourite part of this property is the Seaview balcony to watch the sunrise from.
The mattress in the King room is two single beds bolted together which is a little disappointing but still reasonably comfortable. It is something that could be easily fixed and the property would be exceptional. Do not let this prevent you from staying here, I would stay here again without hesitation.

The hotel is very clean, rooms spacious, and it looks very well maintained and recently refurbished. The decor is a lovely, peaceful white and blue with plenty of comfortable leather sofas and chairs in the foyer and other areas. We didn't go outside, but there is a lovely large deck area to enjoy the fantastic water views in warmer weather. A water station in one lounge area was a nice touch for refilling drink bottles.
The noise from the bathroom fan was extremely loud, and there was no way of switching the light on without it running. We could hear the fan in the room above us running late into the evening. The bathrooms are quite dated, functional, like they have not been updated with the rest of the faculties. We had breakfast in the restaurant, the food was fine, service a bit slow, drinks came out one at a time and I had to ask for one breakfast as it didn't appear for quite a while when the rest of us had already got our food. The food appeared quickly once I flagged it, I suspect it was waiting in the kitchen, but the staff were busy doing other things behind the counter ( it wasn't busy ), and it got forgotten.

The place is like in the movies - large and spacious hotel, looks very classy and the rooms are exceptionally large and clean. The little pool is cute and well designed for kids with the little stairs where they can play (it is not a shallow pool, which was fine with us). The fresh Tassie water tap on the ground floor is a really nice touch, and there are couches in different places to relax or chat around the hotel ground floor, which is perfect. The restaurant has a nice view, and a very large outdoor deck that overlooks the water and boats, which is gorgeous. There is a great playground about 5-minute walk from the hotel. Great location.
The beds were a bit low, and the « garden » view was that of the pool and parking lot - but it was still lovely with all the flowers, birds and the nice hotel front. Food at the restaurant is overpriced for what it is, especially breakfast . Regular black coffee and tea cost around 5$ and there is no refill; you have to pay for a second, unlike most (Canadian?) restaurants where you get as many refills as you’d like. There were no pool towels, which is fine but would have been nice.

The staff were friendly, helpful and extremely accommodating. It was lovely to sit on the deck overlooking the water in the late afternoon with drinks, good food, and even a local duo providing excellent live entertainment. The location was perfect. We could easily walk to the town from the hotel, and it was a great base to explore the Bay of Fires from. It was a really lovely, relaxing couple of days.
The shower cubicle was very small due to the big spa bath in the corner (although the water pressure and temperature were great). I prefer a firm bed, and ours was quite soft. Comfy enough for a good sleep though.

The hotel has recently been renovated so it's looking modern, is clean and comfortable. Reception is large and all staff were friendly. There are a few areas with lounges that can be used as a quiet area to relax. The restaurant and some rooms have a view of the wetlands and the deck which is monstrous provides a great area to eat outdoors or enjoy a drink, day or night. We had drinks on the deck at night and a lovely staff member provided us with rugs as there was a chill in the air. The property is huge and fronts a beautiful wetland. Easy parking is also provided.
Whilst a renovation has been done, I believe the next stage is to update the older darker style furniture in the accommodation and an update to the bathrooms, the shower in our room was very small. This however did not detract from our stay.

When we arrived (in the rain) before 2pm, our rooms were naturally not ready, but we were invited into the lounge where a musician was playing. There was food and drinks available. It was a warm and friendly start to our 3 days stay. The hotel is walking distance from shops. The hotel also is in immaculate condition with the gardens are looking great. The room was spotlessly clean and all the staff were extra friendly. We are a couple of Kiwis who have been touring around Tasmania and we found the Panaroma was the very best of all the hotels that we have stayed at.

Friendly staff, couldn’t be more helpful. Awesome venue and room, bathroom spacious. Many options to relax - on balcony in room, out on the massive deck or lounge areas. You can stay here or just come for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just chill on the deck for a drink. Lovely outlook overlooking the bay. Walking distance to shops, wharf for fishing/boating and other eating areas around St Helen’s. Not too expensive for dining either. Hope you can promote it more so the public know it’s not run down anymore, but we will definitely spread the word.
Bathroom needs updating but realise they haven’t finished completing their renovations. Maybe add some coasters in room to put hot drinks on. Maybe put in a lift instead of stairs so elderly, invalids can be on first floor to appreciate the views of the bay and gardens.

The location of the hotel has a wonderful outlook over the bay and the wetlands. We enjoyed watching the ducks and swans in the small pond near our balcony. The property itself had a very generous floor plan and was very well cared for. We enjoyed our delicious meal in the restaurant and the staff were extremely friendly and kind. They and the front of house seemed to enjoy their interaction with customers. Our room had everything which we could wish for, it was very clean and we enjoyed the solid wooden furniture.

The property is situated in a lovely part of town, right on the water. Our room was on the bottom floor with a lovely view of the water. The restaurant and bar were great and the food really good. Drink and food very reasonable. All members of the staff were all very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
The property rooms need updated badly. The room is clean, although we were in a twin room and the beds need badly updated. The whole property could have been a lot warmer. I’m sure a stay in summer would be better. I’m sure I read somewhere the hotel has been taken over by new owners and the hallways had been newly painted which looked beautiful, so hopefully the rooms will be next. The overall look of the property is very nice. Loved the huge decking outside the restaurant and great views.
