The location, setting, tranquility, and ambience of the resort are great. Very quiet location and has a great area outside for BBQs etc. The pool looks great, but a little cold to tempt me to venture into it. The hosts, owners Helen and Sam were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is large, is licensed, and has a wide selection of meals to choose from. Be very wary when considering ordering an entree and a main - the servings are huge...I mean, huge, the the meals were great. The bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed watching the local birdlife - heaps of Crimson Rosellas coming down to eat from the feeding bowls, Blue Wrens in the surrounding bushes, and a very cheeky magpie.

The rooms are quite small, but had all the normal ammenities supplied so OK on that front.

It's at least 30 years since we last stayed at this motel but we were pleased that the rooms have been refreshed. We stayed in a King Size apartment. It's a very quiet location about 5 minutes from Healesville and walking distance to the Healesville Sanctuary, hence the name. The bathroom was refurbished. It had a microwave and refrigerator with basic utensils to self cater for Breakfast and a Barbecue next to the Swimming Pool.

The current Manager and his family have only taken over the motel two months ago and also the Restaurant. They have a lot to learn about motel management as well as running a Restaurant but seem eager to learn. The Food in the Restaurant was basic, a very unexciting menu. Wines available were incredibly limited with no wine list. A fully stocked bar residual from previous proprietors. The Restaurant has been severely downgraded from past owners.

Clean facility, comfortable with A./C and suited out plans and expectations. Handy to main centre.

Contacting the reception/hotel was difficult. I believe I left a set of my house keys in the room (No 20) and sent an email as soon as I arrived home in Bowral, NSW. I followed up with 6 phone calls over the proceeding two days without being able to speak to any staff member except for one call. I explained my query re the keys and was asked to call back 30mins later once Housekeeping had checked the room. No response to subsequent calls. Don't know if the keys were found so had to have another four keys cut. We run accommodation in NSW and response times to enquiries are top priority. Disappointed in this case. Must do better.......

No milk for coffee, evan when I asked it wasn't delivered. A distance from town so we had black coffee. Great menu for restaurant but it's been closed for several months; was getting excited about the range of food to be served but no had to treck to town. Was a variety of foods available in town. Chose Asian cuisine it was sensational. No couch only kitchen chairs.

The staff. Helen and Sam's nature and quality of client interaction are exceptionally refreshing in today's hospitality world. Children can step back in Australian history with the architectural style of the "Sanctuary". Adults prepare for the neurological hit of being young again. Great that I found a simplified relaxed holiday spot with all the luxury at my fingertips. Eg, my son fell asleep at dinner. All opinions were presented to me. For him to be made comfortable next to us on the floor; to transfer our meal to the room, and delicious dessert to follow our route. Child friendly, yes yes and yes. As a young family on holiday; stripping back screens for the weekend is easy here. Plus being reminded of the good old days. Doing is more of a natural choice, watching only took place too slowly than to stop holiday mode. The family unit has everything you need to be self-catered. The BBQ area and pool are very clean and kept in a ready-to-use condition. Sanctuary's Restaurant offers a great variety of tempting cuisine. I had the smoked chicken with pear nectarine and walnut salad. With orange and mustard dressing. Straight to the mind pool room. Do yourself one thing. Go to breakfast. My boys (4 & 7) used all the facilities available at one stage. Went for a little bush walk twice. Warburton Water Park was our main agenda. (Side note check if operating before going. The weather was too high) Finding this place, silver lining. Our family love spending two nights here and there as often as we can. I book new places each time. New place new experience. I have one other place I go back to. This is going to be another. Not only because we have a lifetime memory attached. Mr 4 took the remote home. 😳 Embarrassed was an understatement. I was driving back to Hampton East. Getting off at Wellington Rd Mulgrave. Mum... Helen rang roughly 20 minutes later.

That I couldn't store the baklava I was given. I didn't bring any containers. I am 1000% sure if I asked; this spot would be blank.

Beautiful setting with surrounding trees. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean. Parking at front of room with table and chairs on patio so nice place to have a morning coffee. Staff were lovely and friendly. 5 min drive out of town so close to everything you need.

Discovered restaurant wasn’t open until the weekend but I had bought my own food anyway so it wasn’t a big deal but just letting others know so they are prepared.

The view was very nice and the room was very clean and had a nice design, It was Certainly charming and made for a nice short stay, the cabin was far enough away from other people and felt very safe as a lone traveller, was also quite close to the town centre but not too far.

There were not enough or good kitchenette facilities, I only had access to a knife and small spoons, so was not able to eat some of my food easily, There also was no tea towels so even after using a cup and some utensils, I could not reuse them.
