We absolutely loved our stay at Yarra Gables in Healesville. The gardens are stunning, beautifully maintained and so peaceful to walk through. It felt like a little slice of the countryside right on the edge of town. All the staff we encountered were incredibly warm, welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The highlight for us (especially the kid!) was the magical fairy garden and the cubby house. It’s such a thoughtful addition for families and our child was completely enchanted - it kept her busy for hours. The rooms were spacious, spotless and comfortable and the whole property had a really welcoming feel. We’ll definitely be back - a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Yarra Valley. Highly recommend!

This was a lovely place to stay for a week without best friends. The cottage was spacious and comfortable although the beds were a bit hard...a pillow top would help. The kitchen was mostly well equipped and the cottage has a great deck out the back for BBQ 's and generally socialising. Healesville itself is a lovely town with plenty of shopping and in close proximity to lots of businesses to visit. We especially enjoyed our trip out to the Chocolaterie/Ice Creamery and also the Alowyn Gardens with the magnificent Wisteria in full bloom. Our hosts at the Cottage were very friendly and welcoming and made sure we were well looked after during the whole week. We would definitely stay here again.

Could have done with some microwave cooking dishes

The rooms were bright, clean and comfy, and well maintained. Yarra Gables has beautiful gardens, good parking for guests and the rooms were quiet. Our hosts were excellent too, provided good instructions pre-arrival and were unobtrusive during our stay. They did send us a nice text an hour or so after arrival to confirm we were happy, or if we had any issues. The family room was excellent, spacious, with comfy beds and nicely decorated. Same applied to our second room, we didn't use the spa, but the bathroom was very clean, tidy and good quality towels and shampoos etc were supplied.

Our room was beautiful being surrounded by a lux cottage feel. The room was bigger than expected with so much space! The spa bath was our favourite part of the room. We loved that the check in was contactless and seamless. We also appreciate receiving a text message from Caroline just to make sure we were happy with our room. Receiving this text message really shows the valuable customer service of this place. We travel to Healesville at least 2-3 times per year so we will definitely be back!

Loads of restaurant options in Healesville that’s 15-20 minutes walking or 2 minute drive away. Within 20 minutes drive you can reach so many tourist attractions in Yarra Valley. Motel has beautiful gardens, huge outside lawn area with big trees, tables and chairs scattered all around and a little playground for children. Rooms are very spacious, neat and well equipped with a little kitchenette, dining table and all the basics you need. We were there with 14 people attending wedding at Zonzo. Used two family rooms, few spa queen rooms as well as a double room. Staff very friendly and attended to all our needs.

We received a warm welcome at reception and found our key in the door and the heater on. The kitchenette was well equipped and there were thoughtful touches such as chilled water glasses and chocolates in the fridge. The room was a great size and well appointed with sofa, coffee table and dining table. There are beautiful gardens to relax in, time and weather permitting. Parking was also ample and right outside the door.

Nothing to suggest - it was a very comfortable stay. If being picky, it was a little away from the main street, so you needed to drive into town.

It has been years since I’ve written any reviews. I wanted to do so for Yarra Gables because they had made it such a special stay! (My way of saying a big thank you!) Yarra Gables was one of our favourite accommodation on our road trip! From the brief meeting with Ralph, to how they had thoughtfully furnished the cottage, you can feel their warm hospitality and deliberate thoughtfulness from start to end. It was felt through the little touches around the cottage - turning on the heating before our arrival so that the rooms were nice and toasty (we went in winter), the toiletries where they provided hair conditioners instead of the commonly given cheap 2-in-1 conditioning shampoos, the makeup remover tissues, the multi USB port by the bedside that were not only stylish but oh-so-practical!; and more. We felt so welcomed and taken care of, during our stay at Yarra Gables. I will recommend Yarra Gables to anyone passing by this area!!

-Great location. Easy access to everywhere. -Nice and quiet with a nice garden in the backyard. -Rooms were very clean and tidy. -Multi-port charging hubs next to the beds were very useful. -Very nice staff. Chocolates and clean classes in the fridge.

The only issue is that the queen bed was in the living room. When someone (my parents, usually wake up at 6am) uses the bathroom or wakes up to cook or eat, the other person (unfortunately it was me) sleeping in the living area cannot sleep and had to get up as well.

The Gables was a lovely place. Room was very large with good sized couch and kitchen facilities. Bathroom was good sized with shower inside spa. The surrounds were also good to have a walk around. Bit far to walk into Healesville proper but easy access by car.

Place was really nice but you needed to have bedroom window closed as traffic noise from around 5.00am was fairly consistent - on main road. But air conditioning made sleeping with window closed ok.

The grounds are beautiful. The amenities in the room were plentiful. Check-in was smooth, and Ralph was very accommodating. Location is great close enough to all the things to do in Healesville with free parking available. Stayed in the family room, which was well appointed and spacious for all the things you'd need and do during a short stay. Would absolutely return. Heated blankets provided on all beds, a plus for visits during the colder months.

The split system works very well, but if you're looking for privacy in the second room, with the door closed, the heating does not quite increase the temperature evenly. Making the main room almost tropical in comparison. Something to be mindful of when visiting in the colder months.
