This place is a little piece of heaven. It is definitely luxurious but not in an ostentatious way. The one bedroom suite is perfect for a little getaway. King sized bed with a small living room and kitchenette. Expansive bathroom with a shower and bath for two. Everything overlooks the wetlands making for the most amazing view. There is also a deck with chairs to relax one. There is amazing attention to detail. From the choice of toiletries, to the throws on the sofa, to the extra outdoor cushions and blankets, the electric fireplace. Breakfast is a loaf of sourdough, plenty of oats, muesli, yogurt, tea, coffee, milk, premium butter, a selection of jams! For a little weekend we were completely at peace, completely relaxed and we were so sad to leave. Jo and Chris, the owners, are lovely and super friendly. They clearly love their property and hosting guests. 100% recommend and I would go back 100x.

Nothing. One of the best stays I have had.

The property is quiet and the huge window overlooks the pond. We sat on the comfy couch and watched the birds, water, sky and trees. The little deck is secluded and was perfect for drinks, star-watching, and breakfast. I loved the little touches... The breakfast supplies were generous and a lovely combination of yummy and healthy. The body care supplies smelled lovely. The place was incredibly clean. Nothing was broken or dinged up. The garden appears wild but I can tell that it is actually carefully designed and maintained by garden-lovers. We saw a wallaby, king parrot, kookaburra, pied cormorant, purple swamphen, blue wren, and lots of little birds. We didn't want to leave.

It's a beautiful wetland landscape and the owners are passionate about protecting the natural resources and wildlife which we respect. The small but meaningful measures taken were amazing, it really puts your mind at ease when you're in a different country. We arrived quite late but they waited up for us, the breakfasts were more than enough and we had everything we needed for a more than comfortable stay. I can't wait to return for another weekend of rest and visiting Inverloch and Phillip Island again. Thank you Chris and Jo, we hope to return again.

We absolutely love this place Jo and Chris are so friendly and welcoming. They had thought of everything from the continental breakfast to the home made sour dough pizzas to the comfortable bed and the relaxing bath. Beautiful scenery with some relaxing music in the background we were so impressed and will definitely be back .

Messmates is the one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in. The property it’s breathtaking, the accomodation is beautiful and such a keen eye for detail is reflected throughout the entire suite - all the luxury’s that make a stay away all the more special. Chris and Jo were the most wonderful hosts, the food and breakfast was superb, the suite was impeccable, the views are divine. I can’t wait to stay again and will be back.

Everything! It was absolute heaven. Such a tranquil & private place with beautiful & accommodating hosts and the most amazing bed we’ve ever slept on. Everything was perfect and no comforts were overlooked. High quality linen and towels and an abundance of complimentary food. We felt like we were off the grid and the only two people on the property.

EVERYTHING! The owners truly thought of what they wanted their guests to feel. Comfortable yet luxurious. From the welcome drink to the double bathtub, my weekend trip turned into a mini romantic trip. perfect place for a couple.

Nothing. Everything was fantastic. I would say you will need a car to get to places, but the hosts offer a complimentary pickup and drop off into the town!!!

Everything! This place is nothing less than amazing. The photos do NOT do this place justice. We were taken away as soon as we arrived and when we walked into our cabin we didn't want to leave. The owners are absolutely beautiful, they were so accommodating, welcoming and friendly. The communication prior to our arrival was outstanding, very caring and clear communication. We loved the location and appreciated the amount of effort and work that has gone into creating this majestic get away. It feels like you are hidden so far away from society but are infact literally minutes from the main Street. Quick drive to so many iconic places for beach stops and adventures. Loved that the owners supported local. The cabin was so clean and had lovely food available. The small kitchen had everything you could think of and or need. We were sad to leave. We WILL return here again, even if just to stay in the cabin and enjoy the view and bath for the entire stay. The bed was so comfortable. Even though there was another couple in the other cabin we did not hear a thing, extremely private place. Thank you so much Jo and Chris for creating this beautiful place and for being so warm and welcoming.

Our stay at Messmates was amazing. It was peaceful and very comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed provided. Chris and Jo were there to greet us when we arrived and explained everything to us. Very relaxing break and a great way to start the new year. We loved it
