Staff were welcoming when we arrived. The 2 bedroom villa, which looked to be recently renovated was immaculately cleaned and beautifully presented with a coastal theme, the air conditioner was already on which was a welcomed surprise. The beds were very comfortable and the mini kitchen was functional with enough crockery etc for 4 and a microwave. Thank goodness we had ceiling fans in all rooms and air conditioning, though it did struggle during the heat of the day. Ample parking in front of the villa was also good. Great laundry facilities at a reasonable price.

No Wifi but it didn’t bother us too much. The sliding door to the balcony was hard to open and the front entry door jammed during the heat of the day requiring a very firm shove by my husband. The shower rose was partially clogged creating a fine spray. Not a criticism but there are no kitchen consumables like kitchen towel, cling wrap, salt and pepper or a sharp knife for cutting

Beautiful finishings - very modern and chic with a very nice aesthetic. Spacious, clean and comfy. Location of the property is lovely- right on the beach front with beautiful views and easy to find the property

A few bits and pieces could have been fixed up in the room- the fridge wasn’t really working properly so our food was barely cold the next morning, abs the freezer section didn’t work at all. Comfy enough room and air conditioning available, but the blanket on the bed was very thin for an extremely cold night Would have loved a kitchen sink of some sort to wash dishes as the bathroom sink is way too small and not practical for washing the dishes. Appreciated the crockery available though, and the kettle, toaster and microwave were great additions

Lovely modern room suitable for our overnight stay on our way home to Perth. Overall we were pleased with the room and the decor was lovely.

We pulled the trundle out from the spare room and the floor was underneath was dirty and had rubbish under there. We could not use the sheet on the mattress of the trundle it was dirty we had to get our own linen from our vehicle and use it on the trundle. our grandchild was too small to use the bunk bed (age was advised on booking ) no linen was available for the trundle. Ceiling fan blades could do with a clean but didnt affect our stay.

I liked how the room made me feel more at ease after a long drive where it was really relaxing. I adored the caring staff for how friendly they were. I really enjoyed the amount of space and bathroom facilities as being a taller than average person myself, I enjoyed having it be where the shower catered for that. The view from the room was really awesome and suited my expectations. Would love to stay again and am excited to return sometime in the near future.

How the shower taps were interesting to figure out and would take ages to become warm/hot. The lack of soap in the bathroom to wash hands. The freezer compartment being overly iced which reduced space size to store frozen goods. There being no extra bin liners as we did need it.

Nicely modern and renovated room when the full transformation is finished later this year it will be a truely spectacular place - hoping the process won’t increase too much (lol). Walking distance to a spectacular beach good for body boarding. Staff were lovely.

Encountered a dodgy character - cameras and a gate at the front of some description would deter the likes of that person wondering in. Balustrades on the verandahs would make sitting outside more pleasant (but I did anyway) assuming this will happen when all the Reno’s are done - what has been done already was done well.

This is a nice place to stay. The staff area friendly and rooms area quite nice.

In the description it says there is a Fridge, without asking I automatically assumed it was a full size fridge. It was a Bar fridge. I come to Geraldton to do my grocery shopping and expected a full size fridge, maybe change description for those of us who do come to Gero for grocery shop. We are not all tourists. Another thing I didn't like was that when I was in the bathroom I couldn't have the window open as it went to our neighbours patio area - if I had opened the window I could have a conversation with neighbours sitting in their patio area.

Very nicely decorated manager was very helpful and assisted with a room upgrade as initial room was different to what we had expected. I noticed a large wasp's nest outside - informed manager who was going to attend to this....didn't happen while we were there as left the next day. Once the upgrade on the restaurant is completed, this venue will be exceptional. I would suggest removing the name where it says 'caravan' park and simply leave it as 'THE AFRICIAN REEF'

needed top sheet on the bed simple accessories like a box of tissues, a washcloth/facecloth in the bathroom would have been good to take it to the next level

The rooms have been renovated recently, which are just wonderful. Once complete, it will be a great facility. The rooms are quite spacious so you can fit your cases and everything with ease. The motel right beside the beach with the sounds of crashing waves it just delightful.

Some things are still getting upgraded so I don't want to be too critical. However, the security gate does very little as there are multiple ways to access the site by just walking in. I'm sure this will change as renovations are completed.

I recently stayed at the African Reef Motel for two nights, and it was an amazing experience! The location is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and supportive, making me feel right at home. The rooms are newly renovated, very warm, and beautifully decorated – they really thought of everything to make it feel cosy and inviting. On top of that, the place was spotless, which was a big plus. Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again. 10/10!

Wow, I had travelled from Perth to Derby and was on my way home to Perth, picked the kids and other half up from Broome airport. The African Reef was our last stop before hitting home. Wow it did not disappoint. Actually we didn’t expect much for the money we paid as we had been having to pay in the $400-$500 from Broome. It was freshly painted, new furniture, bed’s extremely comfortable and all new appliances. It was a beautiful 2 bedroom unit and we will definitely stay again if we are passing through.

Not a lot. The shower head was broken so had to rest it against the wall to get water. And not a big deal but maybe some more towel holders in bathroom or another bench as very little space on sink. Oh and a deadlock on the door front and back (sliding door).
