It had been a very enjoyable stay in Sugar Bay Resort. Special thanks to Latina at the concierge who has been super helpful. All the staff in the resort are very friendly, including those in the concierge, restaurants, room services and on the beach. We told the concierge that the bathroom fan is not working, by the time we came back from the beach few hours later, it was fixed, super!! All restaurants are good, quite a lot of choices and foods are delicious. The resort is right on the beautiful beach. The sand is white and soft.

Only issue visitors should notice is all restaurants are closed from 4 pm to 6:30 pm.

Great hotel with good food and service. All the staff are super friendly and pride themselves on providing excellent customer service. Location is good as its easy to walk or get buses around the island.

The hotel operates as a boutique and as such each person takes individual pride in doing the best they can. The food was delicious (especially the sushi at Umi..!) rooms were comfortable with my favourite White Company products in the bathroom, beach was beautiful with plenty to chairs and umbrellas for everyone (no scrambling at 7am!) and the bar was always plentiful (try the pineapple juice, out of this world!) We would definitely return, you truly get over and above here. The New Year’s party was a particular highlight and the spectacular fireworks on the beach just made the trip for us. Call-outs to Sharon for all her help with excursions, Nikita for kindly extending our room and Kimberly for being a friendly face as well as everyone on the water sports, everyone was so friendly and helpful. For the price you pay, this is remarkably good value 10/10

Great beach on the South western side Beautiful little bay with the hotel in the beach, excellent food and after 8 nights was always good , loved the gym , all interiors are in good condition outside needs a spruce up

Cleaning of passage ways and areas where guests may not be every day is not done regularly . Pity the sporting side especially sailing is not available

The property is lovely and although it could probably benefit from an upgrade, it was super clean and staff went out of their way to ensure guests had everything they needed. Rooms are well-appointed; food was tasty and plentiful; entertainment was fun. This is a great place for a relaxing holiday, but for anyone looking for a party location, this is not your spot! The clientele is largely older, although there were certainly some younger guests, but it was just calm and relaxing and completely enjoyable.

The on-line photos of the property (surely taken with a wide-angle lens) make the beach appear much larger than it actually is. The man-made reef about 60m out from the beach protected the beach from heavy seas although the surf is still quite strong, which is typical of south shore beaches in Barbados. Wonderful, warm Caribbean waters!

Excellent food choice and quality, especially in the two premium restaurants (steakhouse and Asian). All types of drinks available on demand from several bars. The beach is superb, and the beach staff are friendly and cheeky!

Nothing obvious to dislike, though we felt the signs asking people not to reserve beds by the pool and on the beach were certainly not enforced. We were not able to use the pool during our stay as all the beds were covered with towels from early in the day, though this was not a problem as there were plenty of beds on the beach.

The beach

I didn't know much about the facilities maybe a map of the resort or hotel should be given at check in ... imagine I didn't even know where the pool was until the night before check out ..also I didn't get hot water in the shower

The beach was fantastic and especially the water sports equipment was really good. The live band on Sunday evening (three ladies) was fabulous.

The price of the hotel is just too high!

The location is ideally situated on a private beach. The culinary offerings are exceptional. The staff demonstrates utmost helpfulness and courtesy. The fitness center meets satisfactory standards. The pool and bar area are adequate, though they may experience challenges with sunlight during early mornings and late afternoons. The accommodations are pleasant yet modest in size and amenities.

The only recommendation for enhancement I would provide is that the lower-level accommodations, while satisfactory, are somewhat diminutive in size. The more spacious accommodations are situated on the upper level, which is unfortunate as it would be a delightful experience to awaken and directly access the room's terrace, while also having the larger accommodations on the ground floor.
