Overall, I had a fantastic stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. ​The room was lovely, and the location is perfect—it's situated conveniently between the city center and the train station, making it super easy to get around. The breakfast was also excellent, with a great variety of options, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. ​The only minor issue I had was with the shower. It was difficult to regulate the temperature, so the water was either just warm or very hot. ​Despite this small problem, my experience was overwhelmingly positive. I would definitely stay here again!

First and foremost, I was received by the most welcoming and accomodating staff, Joanna and Remy (not sure if I spelled those correctly). I found them very helpful and so willing to make sure any requests or inquiries were take care of. I absolutely loved the space, the ambience, the comfort, the cleanliness, the calm and peace, the ease of access to and from property. The breakfast was stellar, everything was fresh and the variety and selection superb. I loved the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, so much so I went on a hunt through Ghent to find a retail store which sold the brand and scent.

I was very lucky to have Joanne and Remy help me with my very heavy suitcases up the stairs. It was a long climb up to my room and down when I had to leave. If I had to say thing I didn't like it was that, but not because I don't like stairs, it is more because I had extra heavy baggage for a solo traveller.

The woman working there who we saw at breakfast was excellent, really friendly and wanted to ensure we had everything we needed. Also an excellent location - in walking distance from the train station and city centre where the main tourist attractions are. Comfy bed, nice quiet room with flowers and a little balcony. Highly recommend this to anyone choosing to stay in this area.

The door / wall to the bathroom area is just thick glass so you can see & hear through it from the bedroom - it wasn't an issue for us, but it's just something to be aware of if you're wanting that kind of privacy from whoever you're sharing the room with.

Superb breakfast, great staff especially when I had a mishap and tipped orange juice over myself, the floor and broke some glasses. My clothes were washed and ironed and payment was refused. Location was excellent once we discovered the buses 5a and 5b straight to the centre. Excellent room with good bathroom.

We would have preferred coffee and tea in our room as we like to have drinks early and late when we are in our nightclothes. There was poor replacement of toilet paper and toiletries. For us the stairs up to our room were rather difficult as they were so narrow and steep.

We were concerned about the name Achilles B&B, we should not have been. We arrived after the reception had closed but clear and precise instructions had been left for us. We were also concerned about parking as they did not have private parking, we should not have been, there was a large underground car park in the square that was less that 100 yards from the property (park there and do not use the on street meters!). It was clean, modern, well located for the city, a good size bedroom, comfy bed and a great shower! Break fast was also very good.

We really enjoyed our stay. There was good communication and we could access our room without difficulty. We hadn't realised that it would be self-check in and had anticipated the owner/staff being present but there weren't any difficulties and when we did see them, the staff at breakfast were lovely and very helpful. Coffee and tea making facilities & water were available in the foyer room, which is also where a very nice breakfast was served in the mornings. An honesty bar was also available. There are steep stairs to the bedrooms. Being unmanned it could feel strange to be just in a room in this house but there were other people staying when we were there. The foyer was nicely decorated and the building also looks pretty and welcoming from the street as well as inside.I would have preferred a kettle and cups in the bedroom to avoid having to climb steep stairs with boiling water in paper cups. Also, mugs would have been more practical and safer than paper cups for hot tea. Sometimes there was no water in the shared kettle and the cups also ran out so that was a nuisance. Otherwise we were happy! Thank you B&B Achilles for a lovely stay.

This is a gorgeous B&B. The rooms are huge, with very comfortable beds and luxury bathrooms. The USB ports by the bed are a great touch. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty available and the staff are very accommodating. I was able to leave my luggage for the day after checking out and a member of staff kindly rang me a taxi to the station after I returned for it. The breakfast area is nice and there is tea and coffee available for free all day.

It was a 20-30 minute walk to the centre but this wasn’t too bad as it’s very flat and you have the benefit of it being quiet in the evenings. A kettle in the room would have been nice for drinks in the evening without having to go downstairs, but again this wasn’t too much bother.

Super stylish and cozy. Spotless clean. Welcoming and friendly staff. Good breakfast. Parking is widely available at the P10 Sint-Pietersplein parking garage nearby for 9.50 euro per day (located in a low emission zone, free online registration at lez.stad.gent is required). Good location, less than 20 minutes by foot from main city attractions. Free tea and coffee available throughout the day in the lobby.

It is an old building, so sound proofing is not the best, but it was relaxing and quiet in the room nonetheless. As many already wrote - the stairs are quite steep, also not an issue - I'd still book a top floor next time, but keep it in mind when planning your trip.

One of the nicest hotels/B&Bs - everything beautifully presented; our room (we were in "Charm") was spacious, well-designed and very comfortable, with a stunning bathroom, and the staff are delightful. Fantastic breakfast - we had continental, but were offered eggs or waffles, or whatever we wanted. Plus for whenever you want it there is Nespresso-type coffee machine in the lobby, where you can sit and relax, browse the guide books that are on the shelves. The B&B is on a pleasant, leafy street, with a local cafe for lunch just a few yards away. We'll be back as soon as we can!

The breakfast was good in a very pleasant dining area - the usual continental selection; they very helpfully provided me with gluten free bread which was much appreciated. The staff were very pleasant & helpful The quiet location was about a 20-25 minute walk from the historic centre, but we had a car which was a constraint so we had to have parking nearby. The parking was convenient, with the first day free (a Sunday) & then a safe underground car park was conveniently situated only a couple of minutes walk away. We really enjoyed visiting Ghent and were very happy with our choice of accommodation

Personally not that keen on a (frosted) glass partition to the bathroom & loo, although may just be me as didn't bother my partner
