The hotel deserves way more than the maximum score on a 4-point rating system. Staff: Super friendly and helpful. I had an important meeting in the afternoon and was very nervous beforehand. The staff at the reception not only arranged an early check-in but also helped me print out some handouts, which made it much easier for me to prepare for the meeting. Cleanliness: The hotel itself, as well as the room I stayed in, was very neat and clean. All facilities, including the hairdryer in the room, were available. Location: The location of the hotel is excellent – it’s just a short stroll to the historic city centre, yet the hotel is situated in a calm and quiet area, allowing you to rest and sleep without being disturbed by outside noise.

If you want the ease and familiarity of a chain hotel, this is great. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Staff were helpful.

The bathroom was difficult. I understand that size is an issue in most European hotels. But this one was so small it was difficult to even dry off after a shower without hitting an elbow on something. In addition, you had to step up to get into the shower, which also had a recessed floor. You couldn't adjust the water temp from outside the shower without spraying water everywhere.

Reviews from others had warned the rooms were really small so we were prepared for this. They are small but comfortable and have everything you need. Bathroom might be too small for some people but was fine for us. Staff were really hard working and helpful throughout. Bar area was nice. Breakfast was great - there were lots of people at the hotel but the buffet was well stocked and there were so many options. The location of the hotel was perfect - a short walk into the city centre but also a few cafes and restaurants on the doorstep. We didn't find we heard noise from outside the hotel at all - we had selected a quiet room which are located at the back. There was noise from other guests in the hall - just opening doors etc, nothing that bothered us. Great location for exploring lovely Gent.

Would've liked to stay longer!

The hotel is ideally located with the No 1 tram stopping right outside and just 5 stops away from the rail station. Most of the attractions are within 10-15 mins walk, including plenty of bars and restaurants. We were allocated a large room (double + single bed), possibly for disabled persons, staying for 5 nights and so this review will reflect that. The room (on the 3rd floor) was fine for our purposes. The bed was comfortable and we had no problems sleeping. The TV was small, but adequate with a large range of international channels. We had no issues with the large bathroom which had a decent shower with good lighting. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide range. Staff were very helpful.

Only a few minor points: We did miss the lack of in-room tea/coffee facilities and with hindsight, if a similar hotel had these facilities it may have affected our decision. There was also no safe in the room and so we had to keep valuable with us during our stay. Despite that, we had an enjoyable stay and would recommend it for anyone visiting Gent for a few days.

Great location (P4 bus from train station stops right in front of the hotel - it's a 10 minutes ride). To go back to train station you need to take T1/T3 tramway (station is 5 min away from hotel). City center is a 10 minutes walk from hotel. Breakfast is good (nothing fancy, but plenty of food to choose from). The room and the bathroom are small, but it's enough if you are out in the city most of the time. A supermarket and 2-3 good restaurants are close to the hotel (5 minutes walk).

Good car parking, Easy check in, room typical Ibis, helpful staff ( Jens in particular ). Great bar, plenty of choice at breakfast. Close to restaurants.

Not easy to find, as zoned areas with fines for entering at certain times.

The hotel is relatively near (about 1 km) to Gent's center and it has its own parking garage, which was handy. The room was comfortable, the beds good and it was quiet. There were enough place to put our coats and baggage. Just one warning: the part of the city inside the ring - and the hotel is also situated there - is a restricted zone for cars. You can apply for a permit as we did.

Location was perfect - at the heart of the city; Breakfast was rich with variety of choices; Room was small, but clean; Staff was friendly and helpful.

Room service only cleaned the room, but did not refill the used items like tea, cups and napkins. However, when we requested from the reception, the were friendly and supportive. We were picking up the necessary items from the reception daily.

BRITS like tea and coffee in the rooms, they provided one bottle of mineral water on arrival,which was much needed but a kettle and some complimentary teas and coffee would have made my stay perfect

Room was beautiful, clean, bad was very comfortable. Check-in and check-out were fast. Location is perfect: there are a lot of restaurants, and the touristic city center in 10min walk.

Room is small, which is ok, but bathroom is tiny. Door to the bathroom is near the bed. If you travel together, your sleep time should be the same.
