Rooms is above a patisserie/ bakery and one checks in through the shop. So always have easy access to baked goodies they make. Location is near to wak anywhere central to tourist like St Bavos and St Michael’s bridge. No elevators so had requested first floor room. I liked that they were proactive as they contacted me even before i knew my door key was deactivated somehow and they had issued me a new one. Also one staff actually slept in the propwrtty so there is soneone u can call if needing help. Special mention to Pino and Xavier for their kindness and attention during our stay.

Nothing. Happy about the room and the size of the bathroom is great!

Everything. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was excellent. Shower was instantly hot, fluffy pillows, and large windows for natural light. The host worked in the downstairs bakery and was very, very nice. The whole bakery staff was great. We initially did not get the breakfast plan but opted for it the first day and it was overwhelming with a little of everything included - get the full breakfast at least 1 day and revel in it. The meringues were the best we ever had; neither of us liked them going in and we tried what was included with breakfast and it blew our minds that they could taste so good. Two of the best chocolate places (after trying 7) are located within 100 steps of the place. Ghent was lovely as well and one of our new favorite cities in Europe.

Everything was amazing; nothing to complain about at all. Advisory though, there are a chunk of stairs.

Brilliant location, very central to the canals, shops and about a 5 mins walk to Saint Bavos! The room was exceptionally clean, and large (as was the bathroom - it was bigger than the room!) with a very comfy bed. There are little bay windows that you can sit by to read or take in the street below and sunshine. We couldn't believe how wonderful this hotel is... the photos don't do the room justice. My husband and I loved how the corridor and stairs leading up to our room smelt of the gorgeous aromas from the bakery below...flour, sugar, and cinnamon -- I would say this hotel has that added 'magical' element to it.

The location is brilliant, it doesn't get more central Ghent (and you can park your car at 5 minutes walk, not terrible). The room was very much top quality, at the price we paid it was a proper price/quality thing. The bakery has super croissants, so breakfast has super croissants. And you see them being made, nice.

Although the patisserie staff was very nice, it's a bit of a messy experience to get checked in (I jumped the long queue of people getting their merveilleux from the counter). Breakfast in the patisserie is less quiet/relaxed than I like, simply because the place is brilliant and gets lots of customers

What can I say?! We stayed only one night, unfortunately. This boutique bed and breakfast is an outstanding place to stay. From the moment entered the patisserie until we left the next day after a delicious breakfast, we were at home and enjoyed every second of staying in the Merveilleux. We will come back and hopefully for a longer stay. The staff was wonderfully uncomplicated, friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was stunning with a view into the old town of Ghent. It was beautifully decorated and you could see and feel that a lot of thought has gone into the making of this place. Everything was spotless and clean. Thank you for you having us as your guests.

The location in central Gent is perfect. The rooms are large and spacious with high ceilings and have the option of fresh air through open windows or AC. The shower is luxurious with towels and washcloths provided. The fact that the rooms are directly above an amazing bakery that offers breakfast is incroyable. Highly recommend staying here

Absolutely nothing. It was perfect. * there is no lift but staff will offer to help with your luggage if needed.

The location is fantastic. Easily accessible by tram or bus. There is a church behind every church and a park or green space between each one. Many areas are limited to pedestrians and vehicular traffic was very light in the area. Many types of cuisine to explore within walking distance and a very nice room to use as the base to enjoy it all. Very well-appointed room, with many thoughtful details. Washcloths!!

It was a bit of a climb to the room. I read that in the description but was still surprised. I would not have wanted to navigate those steep stairs with a heavy suitcase. Tried cleaning the coffee machine about 20 times before making a cup of tea.

Good location few hundred metres from tram stop. Plenty of shops around, including supermarket close by, and not too far from the castle and canals in the old town. Hotel is above a patisserie so you have breakfast on your doorstep. Bed was very comfortable, if a little on the high side. Good size en-suite with shower. Room was nicely laid out.

A little bit of noise from the street, although not too bad. Not enough milk in the room for tea and coffee.

I stayed in a beautiful room on the corner. Everything was clean and in a nice style that suits the building. Spaceous and a good bed. Breakfast is downstairs in the nicest patisserie! Its located right in the city centre of Ghent.

Parking is 400 meters away in a parking garage, no problem for me. Check out is done in the patisserie, where they did not know how to print an invoice. This was later done by email, so problem solved. For the rest, no negative points for this accommodation.

Lovely boutique hotel situated above a fancy bakery, which is where breakfast is served, with warm from the oven pastries. Very polite and friendly staff.

There isn’t really a desk in the room to work from with a laptop. A small round table with a lipped edge is not ideal for a lap top with extender screen and mouse, etc. that said, I extended my stay here, because in every other respect the hotel was great.
