The location is brilliant, it doesn't get more central Ghent (and you can park your car at 5 minutes walk, not terrible). The room was very much top quality, at the price we paid it was a proper price/quality thing. The bakery has super croissants, so breakfast has super croissants. And you see them being made, nice.

Although the patisserie staff was very nice, it's a bit of a messy experience to get checked in (I jumped the long queue of people getting their merveilleux from the counter). Breakfast in the patisserie is less quiet/relaxed than I like, simply because the place is brilliant and gets lots of customers

What can I say?! We stayed only one night, unfortunately. This boutique bed and breakfast is an outstanding place to stay. From the moment entered the patisserie until we left the next day after a delicious breakfast, we were at home and enjoyed every second of staying in the Merveilleux. We will come back and hopefully for a longer stay. The staff was wonderfully uncomplicated, friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was stunning with a view into the old town of Ghent. It was beautifully decorated and you could see and feel that a lot of thought has gone into the making of this place. Everything was spotless and clean. Thank you for you having us as your guests.

The location is fantastic. Easily accessible by tram or bus. There is a church behind every church and a park or green space between each one. Many areas are limited to pedestrians and vehicular traffic was very light in the area. Many types of cuisine to explore within walking distance and a very nice room to use as the base to enjoy it all. Very well-appointed room, with many thoughtful details. Washcloths!!

It was a bit of a climb to the room. I read that in the description but was still surprised. I would not have wanted to navigate those steep stairs with a heavy suitcase. Tried cleaning the coffee machine about 20 times before making a cup of tea.

I stayed in a beautiful room on the corner. Everything was clean and in a nice style that suits the building. Spaceous and a good bed. Breakfast is downstairs in the nicest patisserie! Its located right in the city centre of Ghent.

Parking is 400 meters away in a parking garage, no problem for me. Check out is done in the patisserie, where they did not know how to print an invoice. This was later done by email, so problem solved. For the rest, no negative points for this accommodation.

Good location few hundred metres from tram stop. Plenty of shops around, including supermarket close by, and not too far from the castle and canals in the old town. Hotel is above a patisserie so you have breakfast on your doorstep. Bed was very comfortable, if a little on the high side. Good size en-suite with shower. Room was nicely laid out.

A little bit of noise from the street, although not too bad. Not enough milk in the room for tea and coffee.

Lovely boutique hotel situated above a fancy bakery, which is where breakfast is served, with warm from the oven pastries. Very polite and friendly staff.

There isn’t really a desk in the room to work from with a laptop. A small round table with a lipped edge is not ideal for a lap top with extender screen and mouse, etc. that said, I extended my stay here, because in every other respect the hotel was great.

Our three nights here were perfect. The property was beautifully furnished, extremely comfortable and exceptionally clean. The location in the historic centre of Ghent was perfect, lots of restaurants to choose from, tram stop is very close to the property but not too far to walk into the commercial centre or railway station. The cafe below the apartment, Mervilleux de Fred was lovely.

Only really minor things: a reading light switch on both sides of the bed would have been great; a note in the room explaining breakfast options in the cafe would have been helpful

The room was well appointed, quiet, and in a fantastic location with easy access to the tram from the rail station and for exploring the historic city center by foot. Breakfast includes a selection of baked goods from the patisserie downstairs with cheese, prosciutto, and eggs made to order. They're willing to hold bags within the patisserie if you arrive early or would like extra time to explore after checkout.

3 night stay - absolutely beautiful, comfortable room, in a charming side street within eye and earshot of the famous Bell tower. Magical location above a patisserie (the smell of fresh baking waking you up in the morning), where you check-in. Staff were extremely welcoming and attentive. The 'official' breakfast offering looked amazing but we just had a smaller selection of the amazing cakes and pastries as we watched them being prepared. Very easy to get to and from the station with tram stop just around the corner. Can't thank the staff enough for their care and attention.

Nothing - it was honestly perfect.

The room was very nice, and I especially liked the modern and clean bathroom, the water bottles in the fridge and the coffee machine. The wifi worked also very well. The breakfast formula in the tea room also working as a de facto reception was very nice (the cost of 20€ was not as nice)

We arrived on Monday afternoon when the tea room operating as the reception was closed so that caused some anxiety. Fortunately we got the door code from the host.
