I visited CfgMgmtCamp so I needed a place close to HoGent and the train station. The location is perfect, I was afraid the trains would be noisy but they were not interfering with my sleep at all - there is absolutely no vibrations from the trains. The mix of the real stones in the concrete in the bathroom floor worked surprisingly very well, great idea!

The bed was super soft on one side and I am used to really hard macerates, thankfully second half was more stiff. On arrival the room was cold but it was back to normal after tuning up the heating to a normal level over one night.

Much better than expected for a 3 star hotel.. This Is a family run hotel and I appreciated their attention to detail, their anticipation of guests' needs. The breakfast choice was varied and many offerings were homemade - jam, yoghurt, kefir, cakes. I also appreciated the food corner - homemade meals to heat in the microwave and enjoy in the dining room, conservatory or, on warm days, in the garden. For tired solo travellers, the option of a home cooked meal without having to go out was a relief. The hotel provided useful local information and public transport tickets and maps. The hotel is an easy flat walk to the railway station, being parallel to the railway tracks. But even if your room looks on to the road and rail, you do not hear any trains or traffic. The hotel is also an easy walk to Citadel Park and two art galleries.

Booked here for convenience to station and because of number of good reviews and wasn't disappointed. Family run hotel in more residential area. Our room was large with little enclosed outspace ( hotel also has nice garden and terrace), spa bath and useful fridge. Good breakfast and 'food corner' with honesty box with homemade meals to be microwaved by customer if needed. Initial receptionist on check-in was very friendly and helpful

We wanted to go on day trips by train and this was easy to do from hotel -about 10 minute walk from station-but having to do this walk to get the tram into centre not as convenient. Also surprised how expensive the restaurants near the hotel and station were when centre ones cheaper (know this not fault of Astoria). Had breakfast 1st day and good with home made items but served only to 9am and we wanted more relaxing start to our other days.

Super friendly receptionist, good rooms, very cute hang out/breakfast area. There is garden as well, but it was a bit too cold for a proper visit. If you are hungry, there is food (Spagetti, lasagna) in Tupperware in common area that you could buy and heat up, as well as chilled drinks. Breakfast was great, plenty of choices, many home made things (jogurt, jam)! Hotel is next to train tracks, but if window is closed, you don't hear anything.

Location is a bit far from city centre. There is plenty of street parking around hotel, which might end up cheaper than yard parking of 12 eur at hotel.

The hotel staff were accommodating. I had an oversight that check-in was only until 20:00 and we were arriving later than that. I called the hotel few hours before we arrived and still, the hotel staff I talked to was kind enough to take care of everything before our arrival. The hotel is really near the main train station and bus stations.

Just that the restaurants are quite far but anyway, it is still well connected to public transportation.

Obviously the owners paid attention to their guests’ needs. Everything inside was just so atmospheric and pretty! I stayed in a beautifully designed, completely new room with a kettle, tea and coffee, fridge and a very comfortable bed. Toiletries by my favourite brand in the bathroom. Lovely lighting in the room. And something I hadn’t seen before - the room was equipped with a glass bottle which I could refill for free with still or sparkling water from a tap in the dining area. Amazing - no need for plastic bottles! The dining area (cafeteria?) had snacks, a coffee machine, a few types of leaf tea, pre-made meals in the freezer and a microwave oven. Plates, cups, glasses, cutlery you could use at any time. The reception closes at 8 but you could take a snack or a meal, write your room number on a receipt, leave it in the reception and pay for it at checkout. No worries for hungry late comers! The reception had umbrellas for the guests - I used them a few times. I stayed there for almost two weeks and the hotel let me leave some of my luggage in the storage room over the weekend while I was away in another city. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always ready for a chat. Overall I was amazed by the experience!

For me everything was perfect.

Everything from check-in to check-out was exceptional! Professional, helpful reception staff that were accommodating to store our luggage on arrival. Quaint hotel with beautiful grounds that was a welcome place to unwind after a long day in town. Short easy 8min walk from train station, and lovely 25min walk to town centre. Room well appointed with comfortable bed & pillows. Bathroom white, bright and very clean; looks recently renovated. If this hotel actually has vacancy, don’t hesitate to book, you will be very pleased with your stay.

Only negative is that the Breakfast buffet was quite pricey so we did not have it. Although the food options did look extensive.

Only 600 meters from the train station, my room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. My room's patio and whirlpool bath were a treat. Staff were polite and offered city maps and directions to tourist attractions. Breakfast was very good. Only a 10 minutes walk to cafes, supermarket, and bars. Good base to take the train for day trips across Belgium: only 30 minutes to Bruges and 40 minutes to Ostend.

A bit far from the city center, where most of the sites are to be seen in Gent (40 minute walk). But this walk only sharpened my appetite for food and beer.

The room and bed were fantastic. Great shower. The whole experience was excellent and I liked the extra things such as free water in the room and the food corner. The breakfast was superb. It was good to see that this hotel is very green. I didn't use the garden but it looked lovely. It was close to the station and easy to get into the centre of town. I walked but there is a good bus and tram service. Very close to beautiful parks and also the Fine Art Gallery.

the only thing was that it is close to the rail tracks. This was not a problem for me as I did not hear any noise through the night and I always use ear plugs. It was not an issue for me.

Well thought through hotel concept with many helpful offers i.e. 24/7 food corner to lounge in, with self-cooked meals and cooled drinks, infrared sauna and gym, bikes and scooters and a very good breakfast. A very nice backyard to use.

The room was totally ok but the air was a bit stuffy, it could have been a bit cleaner and we heard the breakfast guests next to our room in the morning. The furniture in the room could be a little modernized. However, totally fine and due to the overall concept and offerings to recommend.
