The hotel is an historic building in a stunning location in wooded hills. We had an open view down the valley to Malmedy and could see far into the distance where there were hot air balloons. Our host met us on arrival and checked us in. She was very friendly and her English was much better than my poor French. Breakfast was really good, with fresh bread and plenty of variety of meats and cheeses and many things we didn't try such as waffles. The scrambled eggs are cooked freshly for each person and are absolutely delicious. The rooms were very comfortable. We plan to come back! We had an issue with our car which needed repairs. Our host was very kind and helped us with restaurant bookings and taxis etc. and looked after our luggage until our car was ready. The restaurant in the building next door was really superb - one of the best I have eaten in, anywhere! There are also walking trails through the woods and valleys of varying length starting directly opposite the hotel. And the hotel is ten minutes from both the town of Malmedy which has everything we could need and the Spa-Francorchamps motor racing circuit and yet is set in idyllic countryside.

Everything was perfect

The tranquility and setting, the tireless work of the hostess, (it seemed like she ran the whole operation herself) the unexpected offer of scrambled eggs for breakfast, the modern touches like the magnificent marble stairs and window sill (in contrast to the early 20th century timewarp vibe of the hotel), the size of the room itself, plentiful parking, and of course the convenience in being located close to Spa Francorchamps.

The headboard on the beds is solid wooden and quite painful if you're not expecting a hard surface when you come to lie down and go to sleep. The bathroom toilet is a slightly odd (perhaps continental?) design. The bathtub doesn't have a shower curtain or screen, so it's very difficult to wash yourself standing up without getting water everywhere. The bathroom seemed dimly lit in contrast to the room itself, maybe 2 or 3 more light fittings would improve this. The beds were a little firm for our liking and if we were being very fussy, the pillows were an odd shape.

Breakfast was excellent, best of all it was included in the rate. The view from the breakfast room was spectacular, it really set up the day. At first the location seemed very remote compared to our expectation, but once we worked out the route to where we needed to go each morning, the drive was quite easy.

The hotel certainly had trappings of grandeur, almost a throwback to a past era. Unfortunately it had never been finished, in particular the exterior. There was no shower, only a bath. The rooms were a little tatty, needed some renovation. There was no lift, nor was there any bar or restaurant facility on site.

11/10 – if you'd ask me, my wife and our teenage son. This hotel is an absolute time machine: You want to travel back to the 1940's? Then you're perfectly ok here. What a beautiful gem in this region of Belgium! Stunning views, parking directly in front of the hotel. Please be aware: Time stands still here, so there's checking-in between 3pm an 6pm only and you will be greeted by the most welcoming elderly reception lady. Hotel has a feeling of haunted WWII architecture. For thirsty people: There's a 24/7 fridge at the reception with plenty of local drinks (beer, wine etc.) – and taking a bottle out is based on trust (you have to write down what you had on a sheet of paper noting your room number) – excellent. Breakfast is incredible. And have I mentioned this stunning view?

Yes, it's dated – but with LOTS OF character. Please don't book if you're expecting something modern fancy stuff. This feels like 1944 here! Some little complains: The bathrooms are really, really (!) dark as there are just two lightbulbs illuminating a very old interior. The road to the hotel may be tricky for inexperienced drivers who do not know how to handle a few bends up to the hotel. There's no elevator. So elderly people might have problems when booking a room on the upper floors.

Lovely hotel, as if it was frozen in time. Everything is/looks old but in a good way. The staff is friendly and the breakfast buffet is well equipped. The baby cot was already set up and ready to use when we arrived, that's a nice plus too. Nice view of the surrounding fields.

Nothing to remark

Amazing nature, hiking trails. A lot of parking. Very peacefull location. You can feed goats and deer that roam on the property. 5min drive from Spa Francorchamps racetrack.

Carpets are a bit old.

We had a great stay at the hotel were our dog was also welcome. Beautiful location, close to nice hiking trails. The lady who works at reception and breakfast every morning was friendly and on top of everything. We enjoyed our room as well as the beautiful view.

The accommodation is in a quiet and beautiful place. The deer sleep next to the lodge. The staff is kind and willing. The accommodation was ideal for me, I started my tour from here and returned here. The breakfast is also plentiful. I am pleased

It's an old country farm situated in a quiet and beautiful location. Toilets are a bit old-fashioned (70's style) and are clean and practical. The beds are really comfortable.

One day the owners will need to update the toilets.

Location is great, breakfast was good and staff very nice. Views from the hotal are extreme relaxing!

Room a bit outdated but functional and comfortable bed.
