The property is great. With a name like Belize Budget Suites my expectations were not high at all...The photos looked great but I have fallen for that before. The apartment was just great. All of the rooms have been individually decorated a theme and are spotlessly clean with everything you need...kitchen utensils, coffee machine, iron, washing up liquid...it's all there. The host is just lovely as are the other staff. The pre arrival information you receive is exceptional to make the most of your stay, as well as when you are there. The position is ideal with a hotel close by if you wish to use their facilities, local restaurants within minutes walk with the best food. We loved it

That we couldn't stay longer!!!

Chose to stay in San Pedro for the established dive shops, and probably will still prefer this to dive shops in Caye Caulker. Staff was super friendly and helpful, very responsive on texts. The room was amazingly HUGE for the price and comes super well equipped! Living room, small kitchen and separate bedroom, it was really lovely. Just a 3 mins walk to the beach, so pick up via one of the nearby jetty is convenient too if you were to go with dive shops further up the beach.

Chose this hotel for the price - as most hotels are pretty pricey on San Pedro! It is a little out of the way, and is a 30 mins walk to airport/town, or a 15-20 mins walk to some of the jetty, but one of the dive shop is very close by and there are still a few good eateries within walking distance. Not particularly something I didn't like, but travellers should take note before booking. They should also probably provide drinking water, as the only water on sale are in 500ml or 5 gallons (although they are cheap at US$3.50 but I hope they used the remaining 70% I left behind!)

My friend and I had a fantastic time staying here for our 5 nights in San Pedro. The hotel is in a great location, close enough to town but in a quiet neighborhood where we were able to rest well. The rooms are gorgeously furnished and cozy with a well-equipped kitchenette and spacious bathroom. The room was definitely worth the price and we really enjoyed the restaurants nearby and coming and going on our day trips. Lucinda, Jose, and Miriam are wonderfully kind and made sure we were having a great stay. They perfectly exemplify the friendly, caring, and relaxed spirit of Belize. Would absolutely come back in a heartbeat and hope to again soon.

The rooms are a bit musty. They need to be aired out after each guest leaves. It is a 30 minute walk from the ferry terminal, so keep that in mind. Cabs are not cheap!

We really liked the entire suite. It was in a quiet location, the suite was very clean, the bed comfortable and Jose, the manager was very helpful with all our requests. We liked the ability to cater for ourselves in the kitchenette. It was nicely decorated inside and out and we felt at home there. The added bonus for us, being wildlife enthusiasts, were the birds that visited the lovely garden area of the property.

It was a bit of a trek into the centre of San Pedro but it is perfectly doable, as we walked in and out every day. It is easy to get a taxi if you don't want to walk for Bze $20 each way. It would have been nice to have more hooks in the bathroom. Other than that it was great and perfect for us.

The lady at check-in, who owns and runs the place, was very friendly and helpful. She offers lots of helpful tips and information about restaurants, beach access, stores, taxi driver contact numbers, ferry schedules - you name it! We received lots of information even before our arrival, which really helped us plan our trip. The room we stayed in (Room 8, which I think is called the Jungle Room?) was wonderful! As soon as we stepped in, we felt we were at home. We appreciated the little details and the murals on the wall. Having a kitchenette was great, especially since we wanted to have some local fruit from the nearby fruit stall. You can get a 20-liter (?) container of water at reception for 3 USD, which was great since we did not have a car, and it would have been a hassle to lug so much water back to the hotel from the shop - and trust me, you need a lot of water to stay hydrated in the heat here! The bedroom area was a separate room, which made us feel more like we were in an apartment and not in a hotel room. Internet connection was great, and I was able to get some work done remotely while there. The location worked great for us as we weren't looking to party on this trip, so we purposefully chose a place far from all the action in the center of town, but we did walk into town to catch a flight to Caye Caulker, and that took about 30 minutes. It was almost 40 degrees Celsius when we were there, so the walk was not all that pleasant, but it is doable - just not when the sun is directly above you, like it was on our way back. All in all, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy place in a quiet location. We both agree that we would come back to this place if we ever find ourselves in San Pedro again!

We are not necessarily beach enthusiasts, but when we checked out the nearby public access beach (5 minutes away on foot), there were mounds of seaweed / kelp that had washed up and were starting to stink up the beach. Locals told us that this happens every year and that the beach is usually cleaned up, so it was probably just our luck that we were there before it was cleared away. This reflects nothing on the hotel property itself, but this information might be useful for those envisioning a beach vacation.

It was located a bit away from all the noise of town so it was quiet. The staff was very accommodating. They allowed us to drop our bags and placed them in the room when it was ready . Jose was able to arrange a golf cart for us and assisted in finding use a snorkling tour. Jose and his wife made the stay just a bit better. The room was large and decorated with “fish” and it was done well. I would stay here again for sure

The walls/adjoining door to another room was pretty thin. We could hear the neighbors conversations but luckily they kept similar hours to us.

I would love to stay here again! The location was great - the hotel is on a beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood a short walk from two public beach access points. It is also walking distance to restaurants, fruit stands, and groceries. The suite was creatively decorated, and the cleanliness and comfort were exceptional. We cooked breakfast in the suite each day and then set out for adventures. The staff were welcoming and helped us arrange a golf cart (delivered to the hotel) at a great rate. The guests next door were very loud (despite being asked to be quiet), so Lucinda and Jose helped us move to a different room that was quieter. Both rooms we stayed in were impeccably decorated, comfortable and clean. The staff are truly wonderful and really helped to make our stay comfortable and fun. Highly recommend!

The garden was beautiful, the location was very quiet, and the Litoral Jungle outside the bedroom window was very pretty. The room was pretty with nice venetian plaster where there were no murals.

A water dispenser for the 5 gallon jugs was not provided. We found one giant caribbean cockroach in the frame of the futon, which freaked out the wife a little. The lack of a safe was the only REAL problem we had. It made all-day excursions challenging, since we didn’t feel we had a secure place to leave valuables.

This place is the best value you will find in all of San Pedro. The rooms are updated and finished very nicely. The coffee is amazing and the hosts were very nice and accommodating. The beds were comfortable, including the fold out futon. The sheets were soft and the shower is just amazing. Tons of hot water and soaps were provided. It is just a 1/2 mile south of the action in San Pedro/Amberguis Cay. If it were located in the middle of the bar/restaurant scene the price would be double what they charge at least. Tucked 1 block into a neighborhood with a very large lot and beautiful plants and trees you will wake to the sounds of mother nature. If I ever go back to San Pedro I will look to book this property. If you are on the fence, don't waste anymore time and book this place!
