Real good place to stay if you travel alone, location is perfect, the tours offered at the front desk are well priced and a great way to meet other guests. I think the place looked nicer than on the picture and the rooms are confortable

The doors are not very well sound proof

I loved the communal area: pool table, nice seating and hammocks and even a small pool! Nice artwork on the walk and just a really cool ambience. Really great music player all day over the speakers also created a lovely atmosphere. Met some great people staying here. Comfortable beds!

One combined shower/ bathroom/toilet for around 10 girls meant there was often a queue for a shower or to use the toilet in the morning/evenings. It would be great if there was a separate toilet/shower to save having to go downstairs to use the loo at busy times.

The location was lovely. It was close to the beach and the old town, and also the busstation. I needed to wash some laundry, and the laundryplace was very close, and they offered to bring the clean laundry to the reception of Che Lagarto. Also superspecial thanks to the staff. The were incredibly friendly and helpful. I had an accident; I left my belowed sleepingmask, which I had had since i was 11 years old, at the hostel. I was so sad to lose it. But when I texted the hostel, they told me they had found it and I told them that i desperately would want it back. A few days later, as I was getting back to So Paolo to leave back to home, my bus stopped at the Paraty busstation, and a friend of a staffmember of the hostel was waiting for me at the busstation, and gave me my mask. The communication happenedf through the person working at the hotel, and the friendliness and the good communication was so touching to me <3

The private room was okay, but a bit small. Common areas were nice excluding the kitchen. The pool was nice and the pool table too, but cost 1 real per game. The bar was great with beer and cocktails. The breakfast was good, but a bit pricey. The staff and location were great.

The kitchen was way toi small for the place. Only two hot plate and no oven. Kitchen utensils were limited. Maxmium two people could fit in the kitchen at the same time. The AC in the room was quite old and very noisy, bring your ear plugs if you are light sleeper.

Location was great, staff were very friendly and helpful. Private room was a good size & shower was a good pressure. They also had a cold water filter which was lovely!

The wifi was awful, and wouldn’t connect most of the time. We did mention this & they reset it but overall the wifi wouldn’t stay connected & struggled to reconnect. Kitchen is very small & missing some basic utensils. Good enough to cook eggs & pasta but only 1 person can cook at a time Also, when we were there it wasn’t very social

Pros: - Breakfast was great, and pretty affordable (if it's not already included with your room). Includes fruit, eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, coffee, and more. - Nice common space with hammocks, a small pool, and plenty of seating place. Good facilities like a pool table, book exchange, etc. - The staff was absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful! They really make you feel welcome right away, and are always available to provide information or suggestions for things to do. I highly recommend doing the free walking tour (as with every walking tour, make sure to tip the guide after it's done) Neutral: - AC in private room was a great benefit, though it isn't the strongest from those really hot days (but it certainly wasn't weak either, hence the neutral) - Wifi was decent, but had it's moments of spottiness (but overall pretty good)

Incredibly incredibly minor complaint, but - I booked a private room, which included a TV, yet there was no TV remote for using it. Wasn't a big deal, as I probably wouldn't have actually used it much, but the option would be nice as it's included. I briefly mentioned it, and I'm sure if I cared more about it, the staff would have done something to accommodate me

Good breakfast, nice location very close to the old town, good private room, great outside area, caipirinhas at happy hour… This place has it all!

We didn’t like the boat tour we booked at the reception (this was not the tour organized by the hostel, but they facilitate for 20% of the price), snorkeling masks were said to be included, but there was only 1 for 13 people on a very small boat. It started raining pretty heavily in the afternoon, but there was not enough space on the boat for us to sit under the roof. Simply too many people were booked and we felt poorly informed by the hostel reception. There were plenty of other tours to book, but they work together with this one…

Really friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location. Cute design and a nice atmosphere.

The kitchen and pool were tiny and the ac was loud but they all do the job. Would stay again. The only real problem was the snorkelling tour we booked through them have enough masks for everyone and not a single snorkel! Of course this is an external company but you'd think they would have better contacts than this.

Had the time of my life. Met a very cool group of like minded people in the hostel and activities organized by the hostel. Good prices, very friendly staff, the social area was very nice! The breakfast was good. The vibe was so good that all of us decided to extend our stay!

The shared mixed room could have some attention. I stayed 5 days, people moved in and out but the same hostel towels were hanging at the corner of my bed all the time, also there was a collection of water bottles and bags all around. I think they didn’t belong to anybody, who knows how long these dirty stuff have been lying around.

Great hostel, excellent location. Close to the bus station and a lovely cafe Manue around the corner and the historic centre. Staff were really helpful, nothing was an issue. Shared spaces were nice.

Good overall but rooms a little dated, beds were hard and tv couldn't be used for English speakers. One tiny bottle of shampoo for 2 people for 2 nights. Pool is smaller than looks in pictures.
