Pousada Bartholomeu has an excellent location, friendly and professional staff, amazing breakfast, and delicious dinners. The pousada is clean, safe, and very cute. The staff helped us with our bags up and down the stairs.

We are two senior females traveling by ourselves and the stairs are very steep, so we found them hard to manage. I don't think they have rooms on the ground floor. Our room was above the kitchen, so it got a little loud, especially at closing, doing dishes, and cleaning up. They really couldn't help it, I am just mentioning it because if you are a light sleeper, make sure you don't pick that room. I think it was called Jardin.

La casa is located at the 1st floor of one of the oldest building of Paraty. At the ground floor you can have a tasty meal and good drinks (Il Primitivo restaurant). The main Pousada is 5 minutes away and there you have breakfast and also can eat delicious food. It is perfect to walk around and reach the port for a boat trip. In case you have a car parking only 5 minutes walk. Staff super nice and helpful!

Location was perfect. Paraty is inaccessible by car in the old section of the city, you will need to take a taxi to a general parking lot and then walk across a park to access the property from the back. It is not far, and walkable, but you will need to carry your luggage. The streets are all stone in the old section-no cars allowed-and you won't be able to use a roller bag-you will need to carry it. The pousada sent someone to carry our luggage from the parking lot to the pousada. Breakfast was wonderful and fresh-highly recommended. The rooms were nice-it is an old property (like all the properties in Paraty) so no elevators and steep steps.

I wish breakfast could have been to 11am and the wifi stronger. But, it is a rural area so I understand the wifi issue.

Right in the center of Paraty as we wanted for our 2nd time in this city. Cosy room that gives to the main street can be a bit noisy at nights. Everything is very clean, the house has its age, but I think that goes for most pousada's in the historic centre as they date way back. Breakfast is great, the restaurant is even better ;-) Of course, everything closeby and a great helping staff. We will surely recommend.

Beautiful traditional property in a great location in the historic centre. Felt very authentic and good value for money. Would recommend learning some Portuguese because communication was a little tricky. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in South America!

A little loud at night due to the restaurant below, but earplugs solve that issue.

The room is very basic. I would expect more than an electric shower, very cheap toilet seat, and very basic personal care items. The room was above the restaurant, which was extremely noisy

Beautiful original building in the Old Town. The surroundings were incredible. As a native English speaker I suggest you get some basic functional Portuguese before visiting because you're not going to find many English speakers here.

Comparatively expensive area in comparison to the other towns and cities I visited, but compared to UK prices it is still cheap.

Lovely place. In the center of the old town. The building is so unique and well preserved, you feel like traveling into the past. The staff was really helpful and nice. Breakfast was amazing, one of the best ones we had in Brazil. Room itself was very nice, with all the required amenities, with a lot of light and air con.

everything was perfect. One comment not at all related to the place. Just be aware that cars cannot enter into the old town, so you'll have to walk 5-6 minutes to the hotel from the nearest entrance. Just a heads up if you are coming with heavy suitcases like us. Tho we were lucky to find some supportive locals.

Located in the old city quarter, great for exploring. A good breakfast, the staff very welcoming and helpful. A large comfortable and clean room very kindly provided a late check out at no additional cost. Would definitely use again

The room is pretty, the location is excellent (just a bit hard to get to by car), the breakfast is excellent.

Everything was very nice. If I had a criticism it would be just that the room is smaller than the photos show.
