Sukchan is such a real person. Down to earth, friendly and always makes eye contact when speaking with you. His desire is for you to have the best time possible while at his place. He treats you as if you were the only person there and you are of utmost importance. The room was super clean, the kitchen ware was great, it had an actual vent that goes outside, not recirculated back into the room! Everything is well thought out. He does everything with an eye to future proofing and ensuring that it’s all quality from top to bottom. It shows. The bathroom has great fixtures, the towels are better than I get at hotels that cost double. It’s the little things sometimes. Nothing is run down, dirty or broken. Everything is as new or close. He even had one of his staff get my suitcase from the second floor. I’ve been to so many hotels and motels and Medicine Hat, from budget to high end and nothing comes close to the service, care and quality that I’ve seen with him and Riverside Motel

We liked that we could walk from our accommodation down the beautiful leafy 1st street which showcased spectacular and diverse homes with individual unique architecture and spacious yards and gorgeous gardens like we have in Australia. It was teriffic. The local neighbourhood was beautifully manicured and full of community pride. Medicine Hat had so much to do and see, but for us, the highlight was a visit to Dinosaur Provincial Park and the badlands. Such an unexpected, lovely, relaxing, laid-back camping and UV friendly place. "Badlands" to qualify it for tourists, may have been bad for farming but it was an Awesome Canyon "good" for ecodiversity and natural habitat and an amazing Mecca for palentology and history we learnt so much at the interactive centre and on our hikes.10/10

The length of our stay! Unfortunately too short and one of the days fell on the Victoria Day public holiday but luckily we didn't need to be entertained and we were still able to access the Visitors Centre that day after 12pm. Thank You. See

The owner was very friendly and accommodating. It was nothing fancy, but very clean and comfortable. The price was very reasonable.

A few suggestions to the owner. I wish the bathroom would have had a hand towel in addition to the two bath towels provided. I would suggest a few more dishes for a kitchenette suite. There were 2 mugs, 2 bowls, only 1 plate, cutlery for 2, and a few utensils. There were no glasses for drinking. Another suggestion would be a coffeemaker in the room. There was a toaster, and kettle but no coffeemaker.

The owner is wonderful. Offered to help me carry my stuff up the stairs to the room, he made sure the heat was turned on, the room was clean and smelled good, the bedding was so luxurious and soft, and there was even a full ice cube try in the freezer.

The only thing I'd love to see is the addition of coffee in the room. Other than that, I have zero complaints, and I'll definitely book there again.

Easy access to highway and great price. Full kitchenette with minimal dishes, silverware and pots in room for use. Separate wifi for every room. There is no cable or satellite connected to the tv but it’s easy to log in your own streaming service to watch on the tv. Owner at office is very nice and accommodating. Food services nearby will deliver to your room upon request but the building is right next door. Car wash available across the street. There was a convention in town and almost no hotels had open space and if they did their prices were way to high for only that reason but this place was incredibly reasonably priced.

No continental breakfast, No swimming pool as expected.

It was a delight. It was truly the best accommodation we had on our travels across Canada. The staff and owner go far and beyond to make your stay memorable. Give it a try and you experience what a good host is. I‘m sure this Motel will earn itself an excellent reputation. A total bargain for what you get.

This room was wonderfully modern. Obviously much attention was given to this motel when remodeled. Full kitchenette including an induction hot plate. Very good WiFi. Comfortable bed. Not fancy place but a good nights rest. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

My second time. It’s even better this time around. I have stayed in so many hotels in the area. This place is the best for me. Clean, updated, can cook, quiet and Sukchan is everything everyone says he is. Impossible not to like him. He goes above and beyond for his guests.

No proper work/desk area, hotel signage not lit up so hard to see when it's dark out

It is a little far away from downtown and is well located if you have a car on your own or can rent one. All the rest was ok...the wifi is fast and stable...there is no breakfast service, but it has amenities to cook your meals. As well it has laundry in the place. The owner is also the manager and a great guy, always alert to assist and help you.

The location is a bit away from the stores and the mall. There is a public transportation app to help you move through the city, but the manager doesn´t have any information. He has phone numbers for different cab companies, but they are expensive. It could be great if he would recommend public transportation to keep your budget in check.
