The bed was super comfy, the room was really nice! The couch was so cute, circular and chique. Hotel amenities also really nice. Love that the pool and hot tub is open until 11pm. The gym is great! So centrally located right in the heart of downtown, could walk everywhere. Loved the restaurants nearby. The staff were honestly so amazing, welcoming and kind. They were really great!!
Hot tub wasn't hot enough. The desk for working was too close to the TV and not big enough. Wish there was a hot water kettle, wasn't sure how to make tea. A drinking water refill station on every floor would be amazing. Bathrooms were great and gorgeous but below the sink a shelf would be ideal for putting toiletries bags. Otherwise there wasn't really a place for it. The pull out bed on the couch could be way more comfortable. It was not. LOL. Too springy.

We liked the view over the water, after we got to the 9th floor. Decent size of the room (but be careful, not all rooms are the same size - the first room was certainly much smaller then the second one, although they are both considered the same category). Beds were very comfortable. It is just next to stores and restaurants and, most importantly, the waterfront. Also good location if you want to do a day visit to Tofino and/or the Newcastle island. Nice gym.
The room that we eventually stayed in on the 9th floor was of good size. However, there is very little room to store clothes and things - a very awkward and unpractical choice of furniture. You cannot open the window, even a little bit, which is a pity since the hotel is by the ocean.

Spacious and comfortable room.
The staff was unwelcoming. She couldn’t find my last name in their system. When I passed her my ID, she blamed me for registering the wrong last name. I’m like it’s not me, since I booked thru booking.com. The property is located next to a casino. Our car was stopped by a few homeless which made us feel insecure. Parking is at a building opposite the hotel and instruction was unclear. I couldn’t find a reserved parking space and headed down to a lower floor but the lift of that building was off. I had to drive up to the first floor again and thank goodness we found someone to talk to on parking.

I recently stayed at the Courtyard Nanaimo, and my experience was exceptional. The hotel is modern and beautifully maintained, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the amenities one could need for a relaxing stay. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. The location is also fantastic, with easy access to downtown Nanaimo and stunning views of the waterfront. I would highly recommend Courtyard Nanaimo to anyone looking for a top-notch hotel experience in the area!
The view from the backside of the 3rd floor was quite disappointing. There was a small, eerie-looking house that frightened my kids as it resembled a haunted house

Beautiful hotel, staff are lovely and so friendly. The hotel lobby bar has really good drinks and the food is great. The lounge has an outdoor patio and there Is live music on the weekends. Only down side to this hotel is that the neighborhood seems to be a hang out for homeless people, and some can be very aggressive. I had a beautiful partial ocean view room, but also a view of a homeless encampment right under our window so I could see multiple people doing drugs out in the open.
Staff needs to better explain the parking situation, that was super co fusing.

There was no breakfast offered, not even a muffin and coffee. The little coffee machine in the room was good. In the restaurant area near the lobby, which did not seem like a proper restaurant, an over-the-counter slice of lemon loaf for takeaway was almost $6 ...far too expensive.
I didn't particularly appreciate having a very subversive cult book left in the room. Much social hurt and personal tragedy comes from the existence of the Book of Morman. Its big lie is condemned worldwide, as it is pure evil and has no social redeeming value. History has revealed the dark negativity that is a consequence of its origins in hell.

The room was great. We loved the comfy couch and footrest - perfect for watching a movie. The decor was beautiful and the bed was so very comfortable. The location was very convenient.
It would have been good to have more than one regular coffee bag - one was regular and one was decaf but neither of us drink decaf. I would have also liked to have real milk or cream rather than coffee whitener. But there are so many coffee shops nearby that it didn't really matter.

Very good hotel in the very center of Nanaimo, 3 minutes from the marina. Comfortable, functional bathroom. It was very clean. In addition to a comfortable, large bed, there was also a comfortable sofa. There was a restaurant on site with a good menu and friendly service. There was well-functioning air conditioning and wifi
No ventilation in the bathroom

The hotel is new and staff was extremely friendly. a gentleman name Vernon maybe? was working and was able to get us an early check in for my daughter's dance recital- which was SO EXTREMELY helpful. His kindness and friendlinesss really made my day. I would come back again just to deal with him again. Thank you! The location was excellent as it was right across from port theathre where we were dancing. The happy hour pricing was excellent and affordable.
We couldn't find anything wrong.

Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, and staff seemed very concerned that we'd be angry - the place is relatively new and there were a couple of other guests who were engaged in quite aggressive conversations with other staff at the time. Seems like there are some issues that need ironing out. However I have no complaints, we were given a beer each, went to park the car across the street, and by the time I returned the room was ready. Room was perfect, bed was huge, swimming pool was a welcome addition. It was only a layover but would have happily spent another night. I think the staff member who helped us might have been called Vern or something similar. He was a really nice guy.
