The front desk was extremely helpful and responded quickly to any of our needs. The beachfront was great and had adjacent walking trails. The view was spectacular! The room was more than adequate, had top notch appliances and definitely were used for some meals, particularly breakfast. Was close by to all amenities including; coop grocery store, liquor store and restaurants. The resort was half an hour from Tofino with the Pacific Rim National Park in the middle of the two. We liked Ucluet , it wasn’t as busy as Tofino and a little bit more low key.

It was perfect!

Due to recent renovations the room is looking very modern, the kitchen has everything that you need , the mattress is comfortable to provide good night sleep, the bathroom is well organised. Everything is very clean!

We found the service to be a bit lacking, especially at the restaurant. The service was very slow, during dinner we sat at the table with our dirty plates for a long time, and during breakfast one our items was forgotten even though we reminded our server about it. We had a card in our room that said we would get $45 off our dinner meal if we charged it to our room. During check out we were informed that there was a mistake and we weren’t entitled to the credit and nothing was done to rectify the situation. These small incidents added up and left us with a bitter taste.

We stayed at the resort for our 35th anniversary and were so impressed! Our accommodation was a one bedroom full ocean view which I would highly recommend to anyone... The view is breathtaking! Loved the fact that the unit was super clean, fully stocked with all of the utensils and cooking equipment you could possibly need including a stainless steel French press that made wonderful coffee. One added note that meant a lot to us was the fact my husband was not feeling well the day we checked in and the front desk staff were so accommodating as to allow us early check-in... It's these details that make a resort go from good to excellent!

We were thrilled with our stay at the resort. The room was amazing! The bed was very comfortable, the shower was awesome, and our fireplace was very cozy. We were able to sit out on our private balcony with our morning coffee and enjoy the sounds of the ocean. Would highly recommend this resort for anyone passing through. The restaurants on-site even had vegan options which made this hotel that much better.

There really wasn't anything that we didn't like. It was unfortunate timing that while we were there only one of their hot tubs was operational, but this was necessary maintenance. So definitely still a 5-star experience.

Location was off the charts. Right on the ocean shoreline. What a great, continuous sound track!! Staff were excellent. Very prompt to respond and provide support if/as needed. Food and beverage great. Our room was a great design. We had living area, kitchenette, ocean view balcony with separate bed/bath (with a big ocean view window). We are big fans of the slow morning and having breakfast 'in' and coffee on the balcony. Only one rainout morning:) The provided appliances and utensil/cutlery was perfect for our needs. Very spacious for two persons. Outstanding trail(s) and access...main trail actually wrapped around the resort. Walkable to town.

Not so much a dislike, rather comment on the facility. The room and finishes were a touch tired but all was functional. They are currently undergoing renovations/freshening. Hot tubs were popular but on the small size...think they could use a couple more tubs:)

This was one of the better hotels we have been during our trip. A few things we liked: - the views are amazing! Can’t describe it - all facilities are in house - very spacious one bedroom suite (tip: book this if you consider to have dinner (or lunch) in the room. Everything is there to prepare a meal) - Very kind staff

- It is not in the center, so be aware of that (it is very close to the beach) - One of the hot tubs were closed which made it very crowded to be other one - The pool is cold and disappointing.

Amazing location with great views and good proximity to downtown Ukee and excellent walking trails. This is definitely an excellent option if you're put off by the ridiculous hotel pricing in nearby Tofino. Our suite was large and very well-equipped, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here. I'd also suggest trying the Currents restaurant during your stay, it was a definite highlight of our stay - the food, service, and the ambiance were excellent.

The mosquitoes were a pain, but the hotel does provide citronella bug spray. Bizarrely, only one set of patio doors had a mosquito screen though, which didn't make a lot of sense to us, and seems like an obvious fix. We were also surprised our room didn't have AC. A few other areas of modernisation like USB charging for example would be nice, and the hotel exterior would benefit from some kind of covering or lean-to to accommodate diners outside when it's raining during peak season. Trying to get something to eat or drink on our first night was a nightmare after a long drive!

We arrived for our stay in a non-air-conditioned apartment on one of the hottest days of the season. So we upgraded to an apartment with AC and a partial sea view. Unfortunately, the AC kept going off and after many tries, the maintenance crew was unable to fix the problem. The good news is that the resort helped us move into a beautiful full sea-view apartment for no extra cost and gave us an extra night since we’d lost an entire day with waiting and moving, etc. They were extremely responsive to the situation and made our stay exceptional. We ended up staying four nights in this very comfortable apartment. The apartment was spacious and very clean, the bed was super comfortable and the bathroom had a beautiful soaking tub that we enjoyed using. The kitchen had everything we needed. We appreciated the microwave to heat up leftovers. The location is great, just a short walk into the center of Ucluelet and right on the Wild Pacific Trail. We hope to go back as we loved both Ucluelet and the Black Rock Resort.

The room was lovely. Big unit with kitchenette, separate bedroom and large bathroom. Loved the big windows and view. The staff was helpful and pleasant.

The bedroom was too hot. We would have slept much better if there had been a screen on the window. We had to use the fan but it was too noisy and too windy even on low. Guests should be instructed not to bring 8 week old puppies. The first night there, there was one on the patio with a large family gathering and it proceeded to have a huge poop right beside our table. Who brings an untrained, young puppy to a beautiful resort? Maybe something like "Well mannered, trained dogs welcome" We were very happy to find a resort such as the Black Rock Oceanside Resort that allows dogs so we would like to see that opportunity remain. Our small dog loved it and we loved having her with us.

Everything was good. I didn’t like that there was no outdoor patio that we could take our dog on. You promote the facility as a dog friendly facility, but then we had to eat in our room all the time because we couldn’t leave the dog in the room and there was nowhere to enjoy dinner on a patio

I didn’t like being charged $50 pet fee for a little 10 pound Pomeranian that did no harm whatsoever to the room. You don’t charge extra for kids who potentially can color on the walls and pee on the bed so I feel like it’s an unfair expense for nothing. We are respectable pet owners that pick up after our pet and she doesn’t cause any extra work for anybody so why the $50 fee when it already cost us over $1200 for three nights?
