The hotel is very nice, in a characteristic houtong beautifully renovated. The area is very lively, central and nice for an evening stroll. But what was truly exceptional was the level of service. The first day they realized from our passports (without us saying it) that it was my wife’s birthday and the staff brought a nice cake to our room. She waited with us to see my wife’s reaction: you could see that this was not just a routine task and she made it very personal. Throughout our stay we have been pampered with free services (afternoon tea, beer and soft drinks, laundry…). Thanks to all the staff for making our stay memorable

Hidden oasis away from the bustling area. Close to the big Beijing sights with cheap taxis to get there. Property was a restored traditional building matched by the unbelievable attention given by the staff Rooms were great for the family and so authentic Helped with restaurant ideas, ordering taxis, free laundry service and a special souvenir of thanks Nothing was too much trouble for these lovely people to make our stay a memorable one.

Finding it initially was a little hard - just search for the Lezai Hotel. Not the hotel’s fault…perhaps Booking.com can simplify. Taxis rarely wanted to direct drive to the hotel- but location only adds to the charm

Best stay. The most incredible staff. Great location, beautiful hotel. Highly recommended. We stayed 4 nights for my husband's birthday. I've never seen staff so attentive, proactive and eager to give us the best experience. We got completely spoiled. I wish everyone in hospitality was that wonderful. The hotel is centrally located near a buzzing hutong street, but it's extremely quiet and comfortable. An oasis in the middle of the city. The design is cute and thoughtful. The room is very comfortable. The breakfast buffet and afternoon tea were delicious. We'll never forget our stay. Book here, you won't regret it.

I was travelling on my own for the first time. The staff in the hotel from the time of booking to the end of my stay took great care of me. From ordering taxis, helping me when I got lost and in general, making sure that my every need was met. At breakfast there was a good variety of food to suit most people’s preferences, the room was comfortable and clean and the hotel is in a great location for experiencing a more authentic feel to visiting a big city like Beijing. A big thank you to all the staff for your care and kindness on a daily basis.

Wonderful location,close to a very nice shop street and the metro. The staff is wonderful. The hotel is very charming and comfortable. The upstairs terrace is so pretty. Don’t hesitate to stay here

I like everything. It’s just a warning for whoever takes a taxi to go there. Because is a Hutong the streets are narrow and the taxi may not want to go up to the door. But it’s totally possible to be left about 10 m away from the hotel. The hotel can also arrange a taxi to pick you up at the checkout. If you want to go by subway is also easy to walk with the suitcases. It’s an easy and flat one street walk.

We loved staying here. The property is full of character, in the middle of the old Hutong streets full,of local color and liveliness. It has a traditional feel but very modern comfortable facilities, and a lovely rooftop area. The breakfast and “afternoon tea” of fruit are included and wonderful. But what really makes it is the incredibly welcoming and friendly attitude among the staff. It is a small hotel so they recognize you when you come in, and you get such a huge smile it makes your day. They went out of their way to help us with things like restaurant bookings. One thing to note: because it is in the middle of the old narrow streets some taxi drivers don’t like to go there later in the day. If you are coming from the airport, ask the hotel to arrange car.

We would happily stay here again anytime.

The hotel appears to have been created around the courtyards and buildings of the old lanes (hutongs) just north of the Forbidden City. Centuries of history are here, and it's very apparent when you climb to the rooftop seating area and look across the grey rooftiles. But the hotel is just steps away from a vibrant lane with cafes and shops, and it's a short walk through these fascinating lanes to the lakes at Hou Hai and Bei Hai, with their amazing architecture, dragon boats, and lotus pools. Not only is the location fantastic, but the staff at the hotel are too. Nothing is too much trouble for the exceptionally kind staff. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

It is located in a Hutong which is very exciting for travellers. Loads of shops and places to get some street food nearby. Even though the hutong was very busy, the property is on a side street off the main lane. the room is so quiet and we didn’t hear a thing and slept well. The suite was incredible. Ours was a listed as a ‘small’ but it was so big, with a huge bathroom, a lounge, very big bed and bedroom and a walk in wardrobe. The property is beautiful. The breakfast served everyday was delicious and always had plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. There is a rooftop where you can have drinks or some afternoon tea watching the sun set over Beijing. Afternoon tea is served everyday, this was such a treat to eat freshly prepared fruit everyday. Free laundry service is provided which is so helpful. Finally, a shout out to the staff. all the staff are wonderful. They are so kind, warm and welcoming. The girl on reception helped us set up WeChat and Alipay and was very patient with us when doing so. I completely recommend this accommodation and if I return to Beijing I will stay here again.

We visited in Golden Week and the Hutong was very busy so getting to the property from the subway took a lot of time to get through the crowds. However, this is not the property’s fault. Just something to bear in mind if you visit in Golden week.

We loved our stay at Lezai hotel!! Walking in, it felt like you entered another world with beautiful timber and stone fittings, water features, and subtle lighting. The ladies went above and beyond to look after us and making sure our stay was comfortable. The food was delicious and plenty of snacks and refreshments provided throughout the day. Our room was prepared very thoughtfully, and we had the best night sleep. The location was also great - close to public transport, and and a bustling hub of restaurants and shops. I will be recommending this hotel to anyone who stays in Beijing. Thank you!!!

Staying at Le Zai Nan Luo Gu Xiang was a delightful surprise—an oasis of traditional charm wrapped in modern luxury. This cosy hutong courtyard feels like stepping back in time, yet is perfectly equipped for today’s comforts. The decor is beautifully traditional, with intricate woodwork, stone features, and serene courtyards. It truly feels like you’re living in a historic siheyuan, yet the comforts are thoroughly modern. Our room featured a large bathtub, a lovely courtyard, and a walk-in wardrobe, all spotless and thoughtfully designed. Breakfast was a delicious daily mix of Western and Chinese dishes, I had the dumpling soupThe afternoon tea was a highlight: fresh fruit, nuts, sweets, and perfectly brewed tea and coffee—served daily and utterly refreshing. There was an automated coffee machine available in the dining area available for coffee in the morning and throughout the day plus an assortment of drinks and of course tea. The staff were exceptional, accommodating every request and laundry service...make sure that you expressly ask them to wash your colours and whites separately. Tucked just off Nanluoguxiang in a quiet alley, the hotel is a quick walk to shops, cafes, restaurants and metro but is peaceful.
