This is a real gem! Jingshan Garden hotel is a magnificent intimate place just across from Jingshan Garden and a few steps away from the Forbidden City. For those travelers who want ti experience the real deal, choose this hotel. Classy and elegant, with super helpful staff, a good breakfast in the morning (choose between American, European, and Chinese), and a restaurant open for lunch and dinner. The rooms are elegant and well equipped, with a basket of fruits replenished every three days. I cannot say enough of the wonderful staff. All of them made my stay easy and pleasant. I totally recommend this hotel!

The hotel was nice and clean. The bathroom was new and modern, there was cleaning service each morning. The room was quiet, beds were comfortable. The staff was very helpful. We would come here again.

We went to the restaurant inside the hotel to order some breakfast. One item on the menu said “chef’s selection of fresh home-made pastries”. They were stale, frozen and without a taste. I wish I could say something nice, but the breakfast menu (Chinese breakfast) which consisted of about 7 items was almost inedible. Luckily, we had not paid to have breakfast included, so we never returned to the “restaurant”. What’s also surprising that the staff working there didn’t speak a word of English. I’m talking about a hotel… so it was quite difficult to communicate with her about our order. Overall, the restaurant was a big let-down. The rest was nice.

I loved it. The hotel itself is a pearl, it has a boutique feeling to it and it’s an oasis in the middle of the big city. The room is spacious and comfy, the common spaces ( garden and restaurant) are lovely and with a relaxed vibe. The small balcony with a view over the Jongshan garden pavilions was a nice surprise. Some members of the staff speak quite good English and they are all helpful and nice. The locations is great too, just steps away from Jingshan garden and the Forbidden city.

It is difficult to find for some taxi drivers, mine dropped me in a different street. I noticed there are some signs with the hotel name but the one at the beginning of the street is covered by a large metallic structure.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It was perfect in every way. The location was fabulous, a close walk to the Forbidden City. The staff went above and beyond to help us in every way, from getting SIM cards to orfering taxis. The hotel restaurant was one of the best that we ate at in all of China, very delicious. The courtyard was quaint and adorable. The rooms were clean and the a/c was top notch. I would 100% stay here again and recommend the hotel to anyone traveling to Beijing.

Great vibe, delicious food at the Jingshan Temple Restaurant upstairs. Lovely courtyard provided shelter and quiet from the busy streets. Room opens up to courtyard but thick curtains provided ample privacy. Welcome fruit basket and quality tea in the room was a nice touch. Water bottles given every day, which was much appreciated in the July heat. Air conditioner was a life saver! It didn't need to be any lower than 25 to feel very comfortable after the hot and humid days. Very friendly and helpful staff -- at least a couple of them who speak English and the others do their best. I suggest you respect the culture and try to learn some basics before visiting China. Be patient and kind and drop the arrogance. Located beside Jingshan Park. Beautiful gardens and amazing view of the Forbidden City if you make it to the top! Bus stops nearby, walkable to a few key attractions but keep in mind that Beijing is massive. Easy to take a Didi (taxi) if you've got it set up. Although a small establishment, someone is available 24/7 at the front door, which is locked at night. Gave us peace of mind, especially having to leave super early to catch a morning flight at Daxing. Thank you, Jingshan Garden Hotel, for such a memorable stay and for the parting gift ♡

Might not be the case for all rooms, and you might prefer this, but the mattress was a bit firm and springy for me. Still a good night's sleep. As a non-smoker, not a fan of folks smoking in the courtyard, which all rooms face toward. Rolling suitcases are loud, especially early in the morning, so try to be mindful of others if you're coming and going at odd hours. We carried ours out, so as not to wake others when we had to leave at 5 am.

The staff was very helpful and welcoming. Glad that airport pickup was an option because it would've been difficult to find the hotel in the alleyway the first time. Housekeeping was very good. The kungpao chicken dish was excellent. I wanted a traditional Beijing experience and Jingshan Garden Hotel delivers. It's located deep in the hutong and it's next to Jingshan Park.

The bathtub was steep. Wish there was a handle bar to hold onto while getting in and out of tub. Wish the menu had more options of traditional Chinese dishes like mapo tofu

This small, quaint hotel has character, I loved the look of this historic property and rooms, but it has modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. The restaurant is very good! They offer 3 paid breakfast options, continental, North American & Chinese. We ate dinner there twice. The front desk staff are helpful and good natured. Location is great - we walked to local attractions and shopping.

The wifi was not great at all. But I’m at another larger hotel now in Beijing and it seems the same.

They really went out of their way to be helpful - the hotel was pretty, very atmospheric and traditional, super location (although don't let your taxi go right to the door - the alley is too narrow and our taxi actually got dented hitting a raised kerb - honestly, dropping you on the main road is easiest for everyone - you'd have a short, say less than 100m straightforward walk (you could ask the taxi driver to walk with you to show you the way if you were worried) we had an early start the next day so they packed a fantastic delicious breakfast for us to take to the airport. Top tip - if you want a great view of the Forbidden City and to get a slice of Beijing life, walk up the hill to the pagodas in JingShan park - it'll take 3o mins from the hotel door to being at the top of one of the best views of the city in the middle of a stunning park. I think you pay 2Y entry. Couldn't have asked for a better lay-over experience. Oh. Carry your passport. We got asked for ID by police checkpoints a couple of times.

The staff service here was the best. And I have been to many 5 stars hotel. There are hotels that have good service because they have good training procedures but here is one of the few places that the service comes geniunely from the staffs. You can feel the sincerity and that they are doing their best to accommodate and to make sure your stay is comfortable. The location is also great because it is walkable to Jingshan park and forbidden palace. Me and my group of picky friends enjoy our stay here very much !

The warm water seems to runout after you use them too much. You have to wait until the water is warm again.

A lovely sihuyuan in the middle of a hutong area. Small but very peaceful and personal. Wonderful location near Jingshan gardens and, of course, the forbidden city and Tiananmen Square. A delightful family run business. They were very welcoming and helpful. Also, there was a good mix of guests, some European, some Chinese.
