The hotel was in a great location just off Wangfujing walking street and near a few subway options making it super easy to get to the forbidden city, tinnamen square and more! The room was really spacious too and we had a great upgrade!

The hotel was a little dated and some parts could be cleaner but nothing problematic, it was a nice stay. One note for travellers using apps like Google maps & Apple Maps is that this hotel has 3 different names online! It used to be called The Crowne Plaza (still is on Google Maps) and on Apple Maps it is called the International Yiyuan Hotel, both of which have the same address that is on here of 48 Wangfujing Street. This is not the hotel’s fault as they obviously don’t use these apps in China but worth noting as we found it a little hard to find!

The staff spoke good English and were always very helpful. Great range of food for breakfast. Th food was always fresh and delicious.

The fixtures in the bathroom were a little tired. The fixture that diverted the water from running into the bath and into the shower was very hard to use and the bath took a long time to drain.

Superb location withing attractions in ring 1 such as Forbidden City, subway station (nearest exit is Jin yu Hutong station located within YinTai Shopping Mall) located 200m walk away. Minimart and Luckin Coffee at the lobby as plus point. Room is spacious enough to fit 2 large luggage easily. Hotel reception speaks good english, porter is helpful with the luggage. If the above is more important to you travelling, then the outdated hotel decor shouldn’t be an issue. Bathtub looks worn out so standing shower will be recommended. Hotel buffet breakfast with int and local varieties can be improved further.

Not bad in total. Beds are very comfy. Stuff was trying to be helpful. The location is good.

The main problem was to find the hotel- the search on the apple maps will show you wrong location :( and the fact that noone can or wants to talk to foreigners was making it quite stressful. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned, toilet seat was obviously dirty. They tried to fix the issues, they just don't understand what you want ( language barrier ), after coming for cleaning twice , eventually I cleaned the seat myself. It was cold, no central heating, just a heater which wasnt even plugged in. Rooms need some refreshment.

I liked the hospitality of staff and position of hotel in the city. It is closed (several hundred meters) to subway stations.

I did not like the room because all is very old inside and no any renovation of walls, windows, furniture. Moreover there is a list of price if you damege something for each things. The internet is slowly. The staff of reception ask to pay the room as soon as we arrived. I apreciate the hotel as 3.5 stars.

The size of the room was really good it was a very large room with plenty of space for two people in a twin room. The bathroom was also very large with a big bath tub and lots of counter space for two women in one bathroom. The beds were very comfortable but the pillows a little on the flat side and not fluffy. We enjoyed the foyer after check out we had things to work out and the lounge in the foyer is huge and very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful with our questions and were only happy to order taxi's for us. Thank you the staff are commendable, brilliant service.

Dated wall paper and didn't have enough tea and coffee, sugar and no milk in the room. I suggest you BYO coffee from home when in China bc every hotel we stayed in was like this.

Mike, the Concierge, was the best. He went out of the way to help us arranging many things and gave many useful tips and advice throughout our stay. Good location only 10 mins walk to subway. 7Eleven and restaurants nearby. Spacious room, nice and comfortable bed.

The property is old. Upon check in no fridge in the room. Staff had to bring to us later. Hair dryer wasn’t in good condition. Toilet seat cover was yellow. Pillows were too soft.

The concierge manager who helped me to purchased high speed railway tickets and Forbidden Palace tickets which were very nice. However, he charged me $150 RMB service fee for the railway tickets $60 RMB service fee (two tickets cost $40 RMB). I really don’t like these charges!

The hotel is great, comfy, clean and in an excellent location. But I give such an outstanding review mainly because of the helpfulness of the staff. Now in Beijing it is very difficult for tourists without a Chinese sim card to reserve places in tourist attractions or for shows. Entrance to most tourist attractions and sights in Beijing is severely limited. The hotel staff, and especially the manager with the business suit and black tie (I do not remember his name) went out of their way to help me. I am deeply thankful and will recommend this hotel to anyone.

It would be nice to have breakfast and/or restaurant in the hotel. But there are plenty of good eating options outside, especially in that super nice pedestrian street.
