The hotel is beautiful and amazing. The buffet was fantastic, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the location was perfect—close to everything. All the staff were great except for one employee, Awang713, who was extremely rude and had a terrible attitude. When trying to communicate with her, she acted busy on the computer and completely ignored any attempt to clarify things. She is definitely not suitable for a front desk or customer service position due to her rude behavior. Additionally, guests should carefully monitor their charges. The hotel deducted an amount different from what was agreed upon with Booking.com and refused to refund me approximately 6,000 CNY (around 3,000 AED).

I stayed in a room with a king size bed, very spacious, stylish and comfortable. The staff are very professional and helpful, the restaurant was fine. I was only there 2 days but enjoyed it's ambience. There are some food places and coffee shops nearby and a supermarket. If shopping is your thing you should visit Nanjing Rd which has malls, designer shops, food places, I guess it's Shanghai's Oxford street [London].

Nothing. If you are planning to go to The Bund to see the skyline, take a taxi as it's a long walk and obviously very confusing for a westerner. It's at the end of Nanjing Road. I don't mind getting lost in a strange place though lol. The taxi from Pudong Airport is an hour's journey as Shanghai is a megatropolis.

The staff at the front desk were helpful and very polite. Our original booking was a king room and twin bedroom connecting rooms. But the rooms they assigned to us were huge. We decided to just stay at the twin bedroom and cancel the king room. Front desk was very helpful to do the cancellations after 1 night. The lady who cleaned our room everyday was helpful and cleaned our room well and top up all the necessary. Overall the hotel was clean, service very up to standard and well located within walking distance to even the train station . Only disadvantage even though it is very clean.

You can tell it’s a 5 star hotel - room was pretty spacious, good views, pretty convenient location near the metro and Shanghai train station.

The room and facilities are pretty dated. You can tell from the worn out beds, room design, room facilities etc. Surprised that they didn’t provide robes. Toothbrush and toothpaste only provided on request. They have a locker for deliveries located outside the hotel, which is not so convenient as other hotels use robots to deliver straight to rooms.

I really liked the location in downtown Shanghai. It was very close to many of Shanghai's amazing attractions. The breakfast offered a wide variety of European and Asian dishes, which I really enjoyed. The metro station, Line 13: Hanzhong Rd, was very close. There was a Chinese steamed bun restaurant right next to the hotel.

I found it a bit unusual and uncomfortable that the bathroom in the hotel room had no door. There was no terrace or canopy outside the hotel to sit and relax.

We stayed 5 nights at the hotel. We have stayed in the area before, & love the location. Our room was excellent, as was the Club Lounge. Breakfast was ok for 4 of the 5 mornings, but on the Sunday morning it was a shambles. They ran out of cups, bowls, knives & forks, bread & fruit. The western breakfast options - grilled tomatoes, hash browns, bacon, scrambled eggs were all stone cold. If we had only stayed one night we would have assumed this was the breakfast every day, but we know it wasn’t. We will stay again.

Love this hotel, so clean, comfortable and rooms were spacious. We asked for two adjoining rooms so that we could be close to the kids yet they have their own space too. Shower facilities were great - the twin room had a big standing shower space while the king bedroom had the rainshower. Daily housekeeping was excellent and most thoughtful. We bumped into the friendly housekeeper one day and asked for more bottled water, and she took the initiative and provided us with sufficient bottled water in the next few days. Location was perfect as it is just 15-20 mins away by car from any major attraction. Easy to get to anywhere by Didi (like Grabcar) and never had difficulty getting a ride. Hotel breakfast was good too, widespread variety to cater to adults/ kids.

There were some minor defects in our room but nothing critical. !!! There's one problem: - at the check in I've been charged additional sum as a deposit (~500CNY). Receptionist has told me that it will be returned after the check out. When I was checking out I waws told that everything is ok. !!! And I still haven't received back my additional deposit. It's been a month already.

Room was comfortable. Liked having a mini fridge, safe, electric kettle, bottled waters, fluffy towels, good number of hangars, hair dryer, and toiletries.

WiFi on the 16th floor didn’t work most of the time- wouldn’t stay connected regardless of web browser or websites visited. Ended up using a lot of my data because of this.

Provide the standard Marriott facilities and services. Have a peace of mind to book with Marriott in Shanghai. 1. Good location- Quiet and Convenient. 5 minutes walk to Hanzhong subway station with one stop from /to Shanghai railway station and two stops to the People’s Square where you can easily to access the walking street in Nanjing Road and get to The Bund. 2. New and Comfortable facilities- comfortable bed with fresh and clean bed sheets.Bath towels are not new but clean. 3. Provide the adequate services.

Only provide the very essential consumable items if you need,such as toothbrush/toothpaste. However, you can see the cutting cost without any waste which is totally understandable. It would be better If the hotel can provide a pair of single use slippers and a shower cup to guest if required. I didn’t ask the reception at check-in. When I realised that I needed, it was later night. With one night stay, I couldn’t be bothered.
