The property is set in the jungle with bungalows spaced apart for privacy. I felt like I was in A tree house. The restaurant service was great as was the food and the pool was clean and rhe pool deck and seating areas were plentiful. The staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful in setting up hikes, taxis and birding trips. We are English speakers and Christian’s was always at the ready to help us with any conversation.

I liked everything and everyone and was sad to have to leave.

Staff were fantastic, super helpful and extremely accommodating of our basic Spanish attempts. Food was simple but good. Cocktails were ace. The rooms looking out to sea, where our kids stayed, were amazing and benefited from a gentle breeze coming from the sea. The room we had was further back in the jungle and whilst this was incredibly atmospheric, being surrounded by wildlife, the lack of any breeze meant it was dam hot and humid, clearly no fault of the hotel. The beach is close and is a beautiful quiet beach, the surf is quite strong so it may not suit very small children. There is a local restaurant serving good seafood and local dishes. The entrance to Tayrona park is only 10 minutes away by taxi and is worth the 2 hour walk through monkey filled jungle to get to the beaches.

The menu could do with some variation, such as specials or similar options, as after a few days, we had exhausted the menu and there are limited options in the local area. The first room they put us in, a super deluxe was brick built with a very small balcony and work being carried out on the room below. It is an ugly addition to the resort and lacked the character of the bamboo cabins. They moved us to a different room on asking.

Stunning jungle aesthetic and right in the middle of nature - loved the hummingbird haven, tortoise garden, parrots and treetop birdwatching. Our bungalow (27) was huge and the view was amazing. Recommend a bungalow further from reception/restaurant/pool for seclusion and views - the 3-4 minute walk is worth it and Ricardo took care of our luggage impressively. The staff were all lovely and keen to meet our needs, particularly with transport bookings. The pool bar and snack service was a real hit. Really easy to get to Tayrona national park, recommend using the driver service. Expect sunny days and quiet, calm evenings.

The adjacent beach isn’t particularly nice, very basic with rough seas and a slightly dodgy walk from the security gate to the sand. The restaurant menu was good but would recommend removing the lomo fino (or sourcing a new supplier / addressing preparation methods). Possibly not an ideal property for anyone with accessibility needs but perfect for us. Could also update coffee facilities, balcony hammocks and sun loungers to amp up the luxury feel!

Our stay at Villa Maria was exceptional. If you are going to Tayrona you must stay here! The hotel exceeded our expectations and had so much to offer. The rooms were clean, comfortable with views overlooking the jungle. We saw plenty of wildlife during our stay. The staff were so friendly and very accommodating helping us with anything we needed. The restaurant was amazing with a great choice of food. A shout out to Andres and Ruby who waited on us at the restaurant and the chefs Estobhan and Johan as well as Manuel and Andres who were on reception. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Everything:) The property is located in the jungle but also is easily approachable -3mins off the main road. The rooms -especially if you get the high floor-have amazing views of jungle and sea. The staff is amazing-everyone is going the extra mile to help you have the best time. From the reception to the restaurant, everyone is friendly and there to help. The biggest and most pleasant surprise was from the hotel’s restaurant. Chef Esteban and his team are creating amazing dishes in a restaurant that already has guaranteed guests (not easy to go elsewhere for dinner in the jungle). Despite this, they put major effort to their dishes and are delivering outstanding flavors. All is well cooked, with real attention. congratulations again :) Another thing to note is the story behind how this property was developed in the jungle, where basic modern amenities (like hot water and wifi) are difficult to secure: in this place you feel privileged to shower in hot water while your bathroom is surrounded by trees and birds. Well done to all the team! Thank you for this wonderful experience!

As much as I travel, I've never felt so welcomed as you all made me feel. Nothing. This place is truly amazing.

This is one of the most special places in all of Colombia. Tayrona is a jungle paradise for the intrepid explorer. Villa Maria and the people who run it are excellent. You have a luxury cabin in the trees in a safe and secure setting just off the main road through tayrona. The beach was easily accessible, the food at the communal restaurant was absolutely delicious, the staff were all so friendly. We had the most special stay, particularly just sitting in the restaurant watching the humming birds feeding all around you, with the parrots calling out. A genuinely unique stay with life long memories.

The room was spacious and had an amazing view overlooking the jungle and sea. We liked leaving the curtains open at night to watch the sunrise each morning from bed. The staff were friendly and helpful and even packed breakfast for us to go when we had to leave early. The pool area is nice after a long hike. The massage I had was very relaxing. The local beach is great and we happened to stumble across some turtles being released into the ocean.

The food wasn’t great at the restaurant for dinner. There are better places on the road for dinner. Breakfast was good though. We paid for laundry and it was a bit expensive. The location is a bit far from the park - we got the local bus to the park and walked on the return which took about 45 mins and was a bit long. It would be good if there were pool towels by the pool rather than reception.

Everything about this place was magical. It is located in the jungle and the wildlife is right at your doorstep, for example we saw monkeys right behind the walls of the hotel. There is also this cute parrot called Lila. The rooms are spacious and with a balcony. The pool was amazing and clean. The staff was very helpful and the food in the restaurant was delicious, they also accommodated our dietary needs *vegan and vegetarian*. We booked a taxi with them to Tayrona and from the airport. The beach is 10 mins down the private path.

The only thing that could be improved was the loud fridge and no hair dryer in the room. They could also provide new bottles of water daily :)

This place is amazing. We had a lovely thatched cabin and they are all well spaced apart amongst trees and shrubs. Our balcony was above the canopy and the birdsong morning and evening was wonderful. The grounds are extensive with a forest walk marked out where you can see monkeys. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the A/C when we arrived and it was fixed within an hour. The restaurant is open sided with great views and breakfast was delicious.

We loved everything. But it wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues because there are lots of stairs.
