Very friendly house and mals restaurant staff. To be honest I found all the staff throughout the resort lovely. Spaghetti house not so much.

We did have a not so nice experience at the spaghetti house unfortunately. I can’t complain about the food as that was delicious but the service was very poor. It was a busy night so I would have anticipated more floor staff. A shame to be fair because I have always looked forward to dining there but this time our group were underwhelmed.

The overall experience at the resort was amazing. They have plenty of activities happening throughout the day that we were able to participate in. The view from accomodation was amazing. We went snorkelling using the free equipment provided by the resort and encountered plenty of fish which the kids enjoyed a lot. The staff was amazing, friendly and very helpful, especially Tui at reception. Tui made us feel welcomed and ensured all our queries were attended too. The rooms were clean, and the AC was amazing after a hot day out at the beach. The house keeping were very nice as well and kept us topped up with the amenities. There is a rental company just outside the resort with really affordable car rentals as well.

The breakfast buffet is very average, and overall the menu at the restaurant is very basic.

We had only heard good things about the Edgewater Resort and Spa. However being a pessimist, I wanted to form my own opinion. Well, I didn't need too, all the positive reviews you hear and read about this place are correct, whether its the friendly and welcoming reception team, to the landscape gardeners, to the laundry ladies and cleaners; every single staff member in this place are so accommodating. Before we arrived we had planned to visit a number of Rarotonga's many restaurants and eateries, however we found the meal options; at breakfast, lunch and dinner, to be wide ranging, tasty and reasonably priced. The themed evenings offered great variety to keep our group coming back most evenings during our stay. Although we did get out and about, those more inclined to stay within the resort would be well catered for by the on-site facilitates or at the Spagetti House and Grill at the Entrance to the Resort. The Mal's Bar was a focal point for our group - from the cocktail happy hour in the early evening, to the drinks vouchers system, to the location of the outdoor area; offering the most stunning of sunsets, you could spend hours sitting here watching the azure waves break over the outer lagoon reef. The wonderful restaurant and bar staff were always happy to accommodate and I could not speak more highly of the hospitality they provided to our group during our stay - Meitaki Trina, Jimmy and Inoke just to mention a few! The Lagoon is packed with tropical fish and we spent many an hour snorkelling and swimming in and around the beautiful coral formations; with the team at the activities bungalow always happy to sort out your snorkelling gear, reef shoes and towels. The ladies in our group spent a lot of time in the on-site Edgewater spa and were extremely happy with the results, so much so, they convinced a number of their partners to partake, including myself, best massage I have ever had!!! - Meitaki Gino - The man with magic hands!!!

The only downside was a group of obnoxious 50-60 somethings Aussies who tended to drink too much and believed urinating between the beachfront apartments buildings and on the beach in the middle of the afternoon was acceptable behaviour. But you definitely can't blame the lovely team at Edgewater for that.

We checked in with our 10 month old baby and found our room right above the pool area was not suitable, as it was so noisy. The wonderful resort staff were so good in finding us another room in another area of the resort which was much quieter, so we could enjoy our 8 night stay (and our baby could sleep!). We really liked the buffet continental breakfast, yummy fresh fruit and coconut. The staff in the restaurant were so kind and friendly, we felt so welcome, we couldn’t say enough about them. Our room was kept very clean and serviced everyday. It’s the best place to see a sunset! Especially with a happy hour cocktail or a Cook Island Lager. We enjoyed our stay and left with beautiful memories of Rarotonga.

Lots of the reviews say the rooms are tired, and they are right, but at least we found ours was always kept very clean. If you were being picky, the linen could do with an overhaul.

The Edgewater Resort was ideal for our family vacation. We had a lagoon room view with a balcony and it did not disappoint......it was our own little slice of paradise. The room itself was spacious and very clean. The staff, especially the ones servicing our room were fantastic. The buffet breakfast was really comprehensive included cereals, yoghurt, fresh and canned fruits, toast, muffins, bircher muesli, buns, pastries and good gluten free options. If none of those suited you could order from the menu at an extra cost. The pool was lovely and clean, but we just swam in the lagoon as it was so handy. We took our own snorkels and reef shoes. The resort do have some but if you are not quick they get booked out quickly. We dined at the Spaghetti House, the food was excellent. The free on site parking was very handy as we hired a car the whole trip. There are filtered water stations at both of the Edgewater's laundry's so there's easy access to good drinking water. I would recommend taking your own refillable water bottles. All in all we loved our stay, the gorgeous landscaped paths and gardens just elevated the whole resort. We will definitely be back.

If you're in a hurry to check out try and avoid doing it at 10am on the dot. We got stuck behind guests who had charged every single thing to their room over the course of their stay and had to go over pages and pages of charges. It took us 45 minutes in the queue and 2 minutes to check out as we paid as we went. We dined at the Brasserie a few times, the food was average.

Everything, we have stayed before and we find it so good for our family. Great for the kids with the pool, daily activities for all the family, the snorkeling out the front is fantastic, lots of different fish and the occasional turtle. The food is great, a good variety especially for the kids. It’s a really family friendly resort, everyone family we meet there were loving it. The staff are absolutely 10/10 the activities hut staff, restaurant staff, front desk and the cleaners all just such lovely welcoming people! Our lagoon room view was nice a modern and everything that a family of 4 needed, we spent most the time by the pool. Loved the location of the resort close to town and only a short drive everywhere else, Muri etc.

Absolutely nothing.

I loved that the staff were so helpful. I found the staff who were not locals were the most helpful. I loved that the resort had so many activities for the kids. The range of breakfast needs to include maybe boiled eggs and more toasters. I loved the breakfast overall. I loved the complimentary equipment for snorkeling. It was cool for the kids. Our villa was perfect for our family, loved it had a washing machine.

Local staff were not so friendly and at times quite judgemental. Nothing at the front end of the booking to say the resort will hold credit card details for "incidentials." I was only told this on check-in. Often, there are not enough tables by the pool for everyone. Our villa needs updating in some areas.

We loved the idea of having everything we needed in the resort, food, drinks and entertainment. We didn’t really need to leave unless you ventured out to somewhere else. Programme was awesome, Our whole family joined in the activities. The kids enjoyed kids club. Our room was perfect for us, the cleaning team did a great job making up our rooms. The concierge was so helpful booking us all of our tours.

I didn’t like that there was an ants nest outside out of our room, naturally they came inside bit of a pest. We didn’t like having to walk back around to the back of our room to gain access we often took a shortcut through the garden because it was faster to get in. Sorry to the gardener we avoided standing on the plants.

Second time staying here and it was great. The room is lovely, the staff are very friendly, I loved the food and happy hour! Close to town. I loved how some of the staff absolutely loved the babies they were always cuddling them and helping the mums so they could get their food. Very family friendly. Free breaky yum!! Snorkeling is really good as rocky lots of fish and they feed them, can be a little dangerous at times depending on how rough the sea is. The kids club and activities are really cool

The beds are very firm and the tv remote didn't work and this seemed to be a theme as our friends didn't either.

The breakfast was good considering it was included in the room price but it did tend to get boring, being the same food everyday. All the wait staff in the restaurant were extremely friendly and relatable. Very helpful. I rate the customer service and politeness up there with Japan. The location was beach front and an easy walk to shops etc. The local dogs and cats were super friendly and they made my stay extra special. By the end I had given them all names. The facilities were very tidy, the grounds kept very clean.

As much as I love chickens and have had them as pets myself, the roosters crowing early hours in the morning interfere with sleep. I had a beach front room so learned how to block the noise out but if you’re a light sleeper or need your sleep, I would recommend ONLY getting a beach front room. The price of laundry facilities is exorbitant.
