The staff were all exceptionally friendly & helpful. We had an upstairs room which overlooked the pool - so private. Two pools to choose from (both colder than the lagoon but refreshing). Breakfast is included - cereals, fruit & toast. Handy to have Anchorage Restaurant on site. We really appreciated having the shower/bathroom facilities by the Birdcage Bar so we could still go snorkelling after checkout - very thoughtful (no extra charge) The sunset viewing area was lovely with Cape Cod chairs or sunloungers available. The reef is quite close here so easy to see lots of rejuvenated coral and a great variety of fish (only attempt near high tide though).

Everything was lovely. Maybe you could provide some kayaks/snorkelling masks for guests to use.

The resort managers were very caring and helpful. Nothing was a bother and supported those that really needed it. Definitely returning next year The resort was always very clean and presentable. A pleasure to stay here

The breakfast each morning was simple and good. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We loved finishing our days with cocktails at ‘the birdcage’. The 2x pools were great and being able to sit right in front of the ocean looking for whales was magic. We saw one and it gave us a full show. Brilliant! All of the staff were fantastic and super helpful.

Our room did not have much natural light so we always needed to turn on the main lights to see what we were doing. More plug in power points would have been great too.

Sunset Resort exceeded all our expectation's. Reception staff very welcoming and very helpful. Restaurant on site with great food and great Staff. Room was immaculately clean and kept that way by friendly Room Attendant. Amazing good sized large pool, plus smaller cocktail bar pool. Resort facilities are surrounded by beautiful on site tropical gardens. One of the most spectacular aspects of the property is the beach frontage, which includes an open air Gazebo with seating, hammock's and sun loungers. which provides great swimming and spectacular views of the sunsets.

We loved our 8 nights at Sunset Resort. The facilities are fabulous and exceeded my expectations. The staff are welcoming and helpful, and we loved the beach being so close and the pools so inviting. Happy hour cocktails are great too! We ate 2 dinners in the restaurant and they were well presented and really tasty. The resort is not far from Avarua and we used the local bus for several days before picking up our rental car - easy to get to and from Sunset Resort by bus, and there are excellent restaurants in good walking distance nearby anyway. Overall a relaxing and fabulous stay, and we would love to return!

Absolutely nothing. 100% wonderful.

First time in Rarotonga and we knew we wanted a room as close to the beach as possible, we were not disappointed in the room! Overlooking the beach and a lovely garden space, the beach itself was a ten second walk from the room, where the setup with hammocks, loungers and palm trees made for ulimate chilling. Room, and kitchen bits were all very clean, and was a good amount of space for a couple. The Birdcage bar by the pool was great and cocktails were tasty as. Staff were all very friendly and helpful without being too intrusive and the whole resort is very tidy and well set up. Will definitely stay again.

Shower took a bit of time to adjust to a normal temperature, but water is a precious resource here, so not a complaint more of a FYI really

We got an upgrade to beach front! Clean, modern, great gardens, friendly staff, great pools. Nice beach to walk along. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy the whole time for us. See placemat photo for the only sunset we saw!

While you can use the facilities/showers on your last day if flying out late, when it’s constant rain it’s a bit unpleasant. Late check out was not possible. How about a day room with sofas, tv, tea and coffee making. We ended up booking another budget place in town to hang out for the day.

The room was comfortable and clean, the pool and beach front were amazing and lovely to relax. Staff friendly and helpful. Very private and quiet was a great place to relax and would definitely recommend and return.

The breakfast options were disappointing, there was not enough fresh fruit. Only ate at the restaurant once as was very disappointed by the food and cocktails. Was expecting fresh fruit cocktails not cocktails made with cordial..we are in the pacific. The food was very average was expecting better given what I had seen online.

Facilities were very comfortable, location was brilliant (2 minute walk to beach) and staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Very handy location on the island near several different restaurants which allowed for some variety from the restaurant on site, although there was nothing wrong with the on site restaurant! Highly recommended but noting this is an adults only resort.

The Anchorage breakfast was lovely. A small selection of cereals and yoghurt with some fruit (mostly papaya and banana) and nice filtered coffee. The bread was fresh and my only gripe is that the selection of toppings was very limited to peanut butter or marmite (plus two flavours of jam). We ate one night at the Anchorage and the meal was delicious. I would have like more choices for meat free options - pastas or large salads for vegetarians or vegans.
