We liked our large suite, but our traveling companions didn't think their room was super nice. We loved the birding opportunities right on the property. We loved the food at the restaurant. I swam in the pool and it was nice.

The noise from the highway was loud. The ladies at the reception were very nice and kind, but we came to CR for birding and they didn't know too much about bird-watching. It's such a popular and growing past time, it would. be good if the hotel had a list of guides or activities about birding. Show this to the gentleman from Florida on the staff. This place has large shady grounds with multiple units, a large outdoor pool and a nice restaurant/bar. We stayed only one night. Our evening meal and the included breakfast buffet were quite good. Our room was large and clean but showed age in the structure and facility. AC was functional, but could have worked better. Abundant deer and monkeys on the property. Nice private deck out our back door. All-in-all a decent place for the price. We would stay here again.

We found the bed to be quite hard, but OK. The room could be improved with a ceiling fan.

We found this place very genuine. Conveniently located on the way from Volcano Tenorio to Monteverde, we decided to spend the night here. Staff is very welcome and professional. We were given a delicious welcome drink. The compound is very wild, you can spot monkeys, lizards and iguanas. Big pool, delicious dinner.

I didn't have hot water in the morning.

Beautiful property, nice and big rooms, private, great food at the restaurant. A/C in the rooms worked well. Twin beds were comfortable.

No shampoo, big gaps in doors and windows. Surprisingly not many bugs in rooms though. The king bed was hard as a rock we opted to sleep in the 2 twin beds instead.

Really nice place with spacious garden in which your little semi-detached room/house is located, around the pool. Very calm and quiet at night. The food in the restaurant was excelent, especially for lunch and dinner. The nereby animals sanctunary is really nice place to stop for few hours. Avoid the restaurant next to the river, the view is great but the food isn't worth it,, the hotel restaurant has much better food

I wouldn't say i didn't like it, but in the evening there were at least 5 tiny frogs in the bathroom despite the closed outside door. I don't think they were poisonous, but i was worried i would step on one of them at night. My room was in the farthest part of the garden and it I was glad i took a torch when returning alone from dinner after dark.

Cozy cabin-type stay en route south. Comfortable bed & nice bathroom. Dinner & cocktails were expensive for a smaller hotel, albeit delicious. The roasted vegetables & ribs were amazing. Staff are lovely.

Keep your luggage in the car when checking in, you’ll be driving to your room. Never saw the pool, but the photos looked nice.

The location was perfect as we flew into Liberia late in the afternoon and we didn't want to drive in the dark to our destination of La Fortuna. The setting was remarkably beautiful and a great introduction to the jungles of Costa Rica! The food at the restaurant was excellent as well!

The location was perfect for our needs - just off the highway outside of Cañas, but far enough back that there was no traffic noise. Very nice and friendly staff. The room was comfortable if a little dark (perhaps to be expected with the "old world" style). The pool was the best of any place we stayed in Costa Rica and the grounds were beautiful. Lots of monkeys to watch in the trees, and deer roaming around. Nice dinner in the hotel restaurant. There is a river very close by where you can go rafting. And you can walk to the animal refuge just next door - worth a stop.

Perhaps a bit brighter lighting in the room, but that's a minor thing.

Great facilities close to the airport. There was a family of howler monkeys that we could hear while soaking in the swimming pool

The toilet looked exposed to the parking area. There were some bugs, but it's normal with so much wildlife around.

without a car, our casita was a long walk from the main lodge with restaurant, which is a long ways in a downpour. Glad to borrow big umbrellas from the lobby.
