Minimalist design with attention to detail. The cottages are uniquely positioned to provide amazing views. The patios, windows & even the bed height, mirror in bathroom is designed with sight line to the lake. The steel, glass & concrete come along very well in a composition designed for the landscape. The restaurant patio opens to views with exceptional breakfast served all home made. Can’t wait for wellness expansion plans to finish in the main house uphill. Truly an architectural experience to have !

Rain water gutter exposed. This is only for architectural buffs, doesn’t bother you & it works but with such exceptional detail in architecture this could deserve an enhancement. Share your ideas !

Wonderful, clean and modern looking cabins with a beautiful view overlooking Arenal Lake. big and comfortable bed, large and well functioning shower and very good and optimal use of space in the cabin. We were greeted every morning by some birds on top of our cabin, and could see and hear all kinds of wildlife from the deck overlooking the lake. Special mention for the lovely cats running around the property and coming to greet us! The hotel staff provided special vegan options for breakfast every morning, which were absolutely lovely and tasty, and which was well above our expectations. Also a big thank you for allowing us to check in at a very late time at night and staying up late especially to accomodate us, very much appreciated! Driving distance from La Fortuna and many surrounding activities and touristic locations, the cabins are located outside of the touristic area in a beautiful and quiet place.

Parking space could be a bit small if all cabins are occupied, is just sufficient if everyone parks properly.

The breakfast was absolutely excellent – fresh, delicious, and with a great variety of options. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, always making sure we had everything we needed. On top of that, the view was just breathtaking! Everything about our stay was super, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Can’t wait to come back!

There was nothing I didn’t like. The room didn’t have a TV, but I actually enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere without it. A pool could be a nice addition, but honestly, I didn’t miss it at all.

Enjoyed everything about our stay at Hotel Laguna Arenal. The rooms are modern and elegant, great showers and beds, and the most amazing private terrace with a breathtaking view on the Lake Arenal. Great photography opportunities for bird lovers! Anna is an excellent host, very caring and flexible, communicates very clearly (also in the Dutch language). She serves very tasty breakfast and dinner! We visited Volcano Arenal walking trails and hot springs from here, the location is perfect to drive to and from those points.

Heavenly escape. Exceptional service; Ana Milena and Bastian are very welcoming and friendly, attentive to every detail. They offered great suggestions on activities and were very open and generous; fantastic recommendations. Breakfast is scrumptious; every item made from scratch, plentiful and delicious. The rooms are comfortable and offer a killer view of the lake. The entire hotel is La peaceful retreat. There are a couple of restaurants near by and La Fortuna (nearest town) is half an hour away.

Exceptional view of the Arenal lake with really nice suite , very big and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, maybe the best we had in this area. Stopping for one night on our way to Monteverde was the best decision we made, had amazing time here with unique bird watching.

The room had a slight musty smell (we were during the rainy season). Birds make a lot of noise during the night , includibg knocking on the roof. Would advise to bring earplugs for better sleep.

We are a family of five and had the most wonderful stay at the hotel. Each room has a balcony with the most extraordinary view of the lake and natural jungle; every morning we relaxed outdoors with fresh coffee as local birds visited. The owners were incredibly gracious and poured their passion for their hotel into their service and accommodations. We spent Christmas evening at the hotel, and they orchestrated a delicious meal and live music in the setting of a lively forest - it was truly magical.

Overall we enjoyed staying at Laguna Arenal. The best part of the stay was the view! The balcony oversees the lake and rainforest below. Anna and the rest of the staff are very friendly and professional. The room was just as described and they cleaned the room everyday while we were there for four nights. The breakfast they served was excellent. Anna was very personable and helped us with making reservations at a local attraction that we were having difficulty with. She also invited us to a fantastic dinner one of the nights while we were there. It was one of the best dinners we had in Costa Rica.

There are two recommendations we would like to acknowledge. First, the water in the showers need to be a little hotter. Second, it would be great if there were coffee makers in the individual rooms so that we could enjoy some coffee early while sitting on the balcony. However, we did see that other guests were able to go down to the kitchen area and bring coffee back to the rooms.

Absolutely stunning. Not sure you could ever get board of the view. Every room has it own private views from the hillside downs and over the lake. Food is fantastic. A bar/pub within walking distance. We had a car with us so drove to the places we wanted to visit and never had to drive that far. Room at clean and comfy beds.

Ana was an incredible host! The gourmet breakfasts and dinner we had with her were the best in Costa Rica. Our private room was tucked under beautiful trees with a large balcony and lake views. We even were visited by a group of toucans who kept us thrilled for an hour. We'd highly recommend a stay here.

We didn't realize when we booked that the lake was further from the property than we thought. However, the beautiful surroundings and ambience, and the lack of noisy tourists made it a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the area.
