this was one of the most incredible stays we've had in all of our travels. pictures don't do this place justice, you have to stay there to fully experience the serenity of falling asleep to the river each night and waking up to breakfast with the birds. Javier, Israel, and Adela are some of the kindest souls you could ever meet. Pepa (the bird) and Feo and Kila (the dogs) are the cherry on top of it all. there aren't many places we go that we immediately talk about coming back to, but this is definitely one of them. we felt close enough to the things we wanted to do (a hour to mistico, rio celeste, la fortuna) without being in an area that felt super touristy. the town of nuevo arenal itself has wonderful food options.

The location of Agua Inn is magical: fully immersed in nature, an hour away from the touristy La Fortuna. The garden is a colourful piece of art, and the river makes it even more peaceful. The staff is amazing, Trent has been very accommodating with our late check in. Breakfast was really good, we had something different everyday and the portions were pretty generous too ( typical Costa Rican breakfast with eggs/ beans/ carbs + fruit). The room was big and cozy and got cleaned with care everyday. The pets of the house are the cherry on top: 2 dogs and a parrot named Pepa. Agua Inn definitely stole our hearts, we hope to be back very soon!

Comfortable and quiet, a total get away Lovely owners Trent and Javier who were incredibly helpful organising taxis and giving great advice where to eat The breakfast was fabulous and the rooms immaculate Also the have to mention the two lovely dogs and Peppa the Parrot who visits to say hello when she feels like it 😍

This is by no means a criticism but you definitely will need a car as the inn is not within walking distance of shops attractions etc We hired a car which wasn’t a problem

The location was just a short drive (3-5 minutes) from Nuevo Arenal town which had a great selection of restaurants and cafes. As the Inn was just outside of town, we had a peaceful location to relax and sleep T - any traffic noise was covered from the stream running through the site. The grounds of the Inn were spectacular and very well maintained. Trent and the team were amazing hosts and the in-house animals were friendly and fun. Breakfasts were great.

Some additional hooks in the room and bathroom would be good. The location is at the bottom of a steep hill. It's fine once you've done it a couple of times, but nervous drivers will need to take deep breath.

My husband and I went to Agua Inn this weekend, my mind was blown❤️. The place, the architecture, the vibe, the beautiful energy this so called "paradise in the forest" gave from the very first moment we arrived. Javier and Trent were beyond special and amazing with us, Feo and Kila, so sweet❤️ Pepa not so much, she scared the shit out of me🐦, gurl did not gave us a break😂🤭. Thank you Trent and Javier for the beautiful vibe, your kindness, that delicious breakfast and the amazing coffee, also thank Adela for her hospitality and kindness We are definitely coming back, hopefully this time a little bit longer ❤️ See you soon!

Very beautiful setting, lovely pool in an exotic, colourful garden with a stream flowing through. Very quiet location . The photos of the Inn and the garden don't demonstrate how lovely it is. Room and bathroom were tastefully decorated, not large but plenty of space. Good shower with lots of hot water. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was a tasty plate of fruit and yoghurt , fruit juice followed by bacon and scrambled egg with pancakes/ rice / potatoes and toast. All eaten overlooking the garden watching the birds fly by. All rooms were on the first floor, accessible by stairs. The road to the property is steep for approximately 10 m but it is a well maintained concrete road and not difficult to drive down. Easy parking. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We extended our stay because we enjoyed the peace in the delightful setting of Agua Inn.

No dislikes but facilities for hot drinks in the room would further enhance the experience.

I spent three delightful nights at Agua Inn. I read the reviews, saw the pictures and I am familiar with the area. It was just what I looking for, and then some. The staff was wonderful. Adela cooked simple and delicious meals each morning for breakfast, and one could serve themselves as much coffee as they wanted. Israel was there to attend us when my daughter and arrived in the evening, it was appreciated easy check in; Trent and Javier made us feel at home. Each morning, breakfast was on on the balcony, overlooking the greenery, while we listened to the river and birds while eating. The pool was beautiful, cool and clean. The room was as I expected: comfortable beds with and a shower that provided hot water. The wifi always connected us with service. The site accurately described room amenities. Personally, I like not having a tv in my room as I find the ambiance more relaxing. The room was clean upon arrival and it was cleaned each day, providing us with fresh towels. I thought the price was competitive, and a super value given the beauty of the surrounding nature, & it felt like boutique hotel because they have a few rooms & it is quiet, clean and beautiful. I felt safe and welcomed. I liked the location because I knew I was within an hour drive to the destinations I wanted to go to (Parque Mistico, Sky Adventures.) I had a rental car and I like driving on the roads, enjoying the sights and calmness of Nuevo Arenal. I didn't want the noise and congestion sometimes found in the more central locations of La Fortuna. Also, the hotel is about 12 minutes away from Cafe & Macademia, which is awesome considering how much I love to go there to enjoy the view and a great meal. Finally, what really made the difference for me personally was connecting to the staff and guests. I met the loveliest of people who were warm, genuine, and provided pleasant moments of conversation and laughter.

I have no complaints. Some people might be taken back by the entrance/drive way, but i rented a two wheel drive and had no problem with the slight incline entering onto the property.

We had a wonderful stay at Agua Inn! The location is stunning, tucked away in the jungle. The ambient sound of the flowing river next to the property added to the charm and relaxation. The included breakfast prepared by the lovely Adela was phenomenal and all the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Do not hesitate to book your stay here to experience true Costa Rican hospitality!

I absolutely loved this place! It is very quiet, peaceful, and serene. I was in the area for a CE course rather than strictly vacation - was not on the property much during the day. Traveling alone, the room was great. If you were sharing with another person, you better not need a lot of personal space. Wood floor!!! I prefer any hard surface flooring in places I stay rather than carpet. The room had AC and although I was there in July, I never needed to turn it on. Very reliable wi-fi. Breakfasts were awesome - will say it was the first time I ever had green beans in an omelette. The breakfast porch has a constant flow of hummingbirds and many other birds in the trees on the edge of the property - saw a toucan and several guans (how can those things fly?) and a lot of other birds but not being a birder, identifying them was beyond me. At breakfast or any time you are sitting out on the veranda, you might have a visit from the resident - but free living- parrot - he will also help himself to your plantains if you let him. There are also two awesome resident dogs to hang out with. A small river borders the property and every night I fell asleep to the sound of running water - this was my absolute favorite part. The grounds are very lush with so many flowers - the pool was pretty and even though I never used it, I stuck my hand in and the water temp was just right - not too cold and not overly warm. It was also maintained daily. Be aware that the driveway is extremely steep - try to get there before dark on your first night so you can see better how to get down it. There is also a relatively steep staircase to get up to the level of the rooms so this would not be a good choice for anyone with significant mobility issues. The location is easy access to the town of Arenal - note the road is quite dark and very winding - I did miss the entrance a couple of times coming back from dinner. Trent the owner and the staff were all great!

The bathroom is a little dated but functional. It definitely could use some love and more counter space. The owner said that remodeling the bathrooms is going to happen in the near future. My only dislike of the entire place was the poor water pressure in the shower - not sure if this was specific to this facility or if that is an overall issue in a relatively rural area.

The location is very beautiful and the property and rooms very clean and quaint. The pool looked amazing, although we didn’t have the opportunity to use it. The people were all extremely nice and the breakfast was excellent. There was a very cute tame parrot u

As lovely as the sound of a stream or river can be it should be noted that the river sounds were very loud. Not bad at all in the rooms, but outside the rooms you need to be very comfortable with a loud “river rapids” type of sound. For some people it might even be a positive.
